Lysander von Ascania
Unwritten Verse
When that door closed, the cantina vanished. The Iktochi’s boots scraped while continuing to stumble forward. The begging started immediately. Names, credits, countless promises all layered over one another.. a pathetic symphony. Given the constant hell Lysander survived Korriban, it was easy to recognize the cadence of someone grasping at anything that might still be listening, even though he himself had long stopped listening to the pleading of the weak.
He slammed the figure back against the duracrete, crates shuddering as another cry burst free, like a wounded animal. By now, Lysander was relishing in the fear that gripped the pitiful creature's heart.
And when he tried to curl inward, it was another all too familiar scene in the Outer Rim.. just a feeble attempt at self preservation. One that would be denied.
The boning knife adjusted in his grip. “This is the consequence you never thought would reach you.”
There was no rush of adrenaline, only clarity that told him exactly what to do.
Those who dared to listen would hear no singular scream, but a chorus of tortured shrieks that bled through the cantina's walls. Some were cut off abruptly, so that they may return, again and again. Eventually they became hoarse noises, and finally reduced to nothing more than broken syllables.
Through the entire procedure, the Dark never roared.. it only aligned with his being, calmer than ever.
To no surprise, only one of them would return inside. The eunuch was left to fester in the alley, to live with something that would gnaw at his soul like a starved beast until his final breath.
Lysander reached the sink and let the knife slip from his numb fingers. Dizziness washed through him, and everything suddenly felt heavy. The faucet was turned, letting water rush over his stained hands and forearms. He scrubbed to remove the evidence, to the best of his ability, before cupping those same hands and dragging the liquid over his face.
When he finally lifted his gaze to the mirror, all he saw were the yellow eyes of a monster staring back.
