    • Pre-launch: The round downloads target information from the launcher.
    • Launch: The round's targeting microcomputer completes preliminary planning for maneuvering and plots the course.
    • Midcourse: The targeting microcomputer compares initial target information to sensor data and decides whether any maneuvering or course changes are required.
    • Terminal: The round switches to laser gyroscope inertial guidance for the terminal phase, preventing broad spectrum jamming from affecting it to a large extent. The round then compares initial target data about targets in the area to what it can detect on its own and assigns targets to its nano missiles based on the number of targets in the area, doing its best to assign one missile per target. It filters oujt invalid targets that hte missiles are unlikely to damage. The round tries to divide the missiles evenly between 'valid' targets.

Communications Suite

When connected to compatible systems, the communication suite is an auto-negotiating, frequency hopping system with a self-modulating encryption key, making it extremely resistant to jamming and interception. The comm-lasers can mimic this by rapidly shifting their broadcast spectrum.

Sensor, Scanner and Tracking Suite

The missile creates a composite sensor picture by cross checking data from all of its sensors when in guidance modes where it actively uses the to acquire/track targets.


STRENGTHS

  • Tracking: Given the high velocity of Verpine Shatter rounds and the added evasion mitigation and the ability to course correct that the guided rounds have, the chance of actually missing a target is greatly lowered. Additionally, the round is capable of adjusting it's trajectory to adjust for the movement of most infantry and vehicle targets.
  • Jamming Resistant: The composite sensor, scanner and tracking suite of the rounds prevents broad spectrum jamming from affecting it to a large extent.
  • Minimal Collateral Damage: The nano missiles seek out individual targets, lowering the amound of potential colatteral.
  • Hunter: The nano missiles deployed by the rounds seek out and engage infantry, infatry-sized infantry anologues including droids, light behicles and the like in the are where the round is likely to land.
  • Armor-piercing: The nano missiles have a depleted Baradium tipsm enabling them to potentially punch right through most personal armor systems.
  • Boom: The nano missile's baradium charge produces a powerful though small radius explosion on impact.

WEAKNESSES

  • Limited Maneuvering: These rounds are incapable of making any dramatic maneuvering. They can account for last minute evasion attempts by most targets such as infantry targets with jetpacks or particularly maneuverable or fast repulsorcraft.
  • Volatile: Baradium is a volatile substance, stray rounds and the like can set off the rounds prematurely.
  • Too Big: The round's nano missile payload is ineffective against most larger, heavily armored targets, lacking the armor-penetrating ability and explosive force to do any real damnage to them.
  • Nothing There: If there are no targets in the 'impact zone' the round simply self-destructs after the terminal phase.

DESCRIPTION

"Have you seen those things when they're angry?" - Ruus Kote Ruus Kote on bees, whose dwellling is the namesake for the round. .​

The 'Hive' is designed to deal behind cover and heavy concealment without causing excess colaterall damage that comes with airbursting baradium munitions, which is the company's other solution to the sme problem. The rounds were named after a bee's dwelling for the way the nano missiles swarm after a target, which his both similiar in sound and in action to the manner in which bees defending their own hives.

Additionally, the round is capable of adjusting it's trajectory to adjust for the movement of most infantry and vehicle targets. This greatly increases the likelihood of payload delivery on target. The composite sensor, scanner and tracking suite of the rounds prevents broad spectrum jamming from affecting it to a large extent, also greatly increasing the likelihood of payload delivery.

The round's nano missile payload seek out and engage infantry, infatry-sized infantry anologues including droids, light behicles and the like in the are where the round is likely to land. These rounds are incapable of making any dramatic maneuvering, though the payload's maneuverability usually deals with rapidly maneuvering targets such as jetpack-bourne infrantry. The baradium used by the round's payload is volatile and can be set off fairly easily by blaster fire, sympatheric explosions and the like. Additionally, if there are no valid targets in the 'impact zone' the round will not cause structural damage and will just self-destruct after the terminal phase, making it a poor choice for engaging structures.
