SPECIAL FEATURES
- Mass-driver Micro-missile Launchers: The Mine features a 16x16 grid of mass-driver micro-missile launchers on two of it's sides. These launchers can increase the range of most missiles, notably those manufactured by the company out to 200 meters.
- Acquisition, Targeting and Tracking: Being different from conventional mines, the mine targets signatures that lack a friendly IFF that are detected by any of the following detection means. The salvo size is dictated by the type of targets and the type of missile.
- Seismic Sensor: If any major vibrations are detected, such as those generated by digging, footsteps, repulsors, vehicles or the like are detected within 200 meters of the mine, it will fire a salvo at said target.
- 360-degree FOV Electro Photo Receptor: Anything that is detected by the electro photo receptor that approaches within and out to 200 meters of the mine is tracked. If they attempt to withdraw and don't trip any of the other sensors, the mine will be activated. If they do not, the mine will be activated once they reach 100 meters.
- Ultrasonic Imaging System: A number of ultrasonic beam emitters are used to create a composite sonic image which allows the user to see through most kinds of cover and concealment.
- Feed Recording: The composite sensor feed can be recorded to data cards or other storage mediums connected either wired or wirelessly.
- Infrared Motion Sensor with supplemental Motion Sensors and Heat Detector
- EMS Scanner: The mines can be set to activate only when triggered by specific EM signatures, either those that are uploaded to the mine or ones that are detected by the mine.
- LIDAR: If the LIDAR sensor detects hostile targets within 200 meters, the mine will activate.
- General Purpose Scanner (Lifeform Scanner unable to bypass stealth systems)
- Salvo Construction: Salvos are constructed as follows for the following missiles. When networked with other mines, they might split this salvo between numerous mines.
- Iral Sur'haaise-class Brilliant Dust Missile: The mine allocates missiles per target:
- Two per infantry target whether organic or droid.
- Three for speeder bikes and similarly sized vehicles or droids.
- Four for standard sized vehicles.
- Five for large, heavy vehicles.
- Six for super-heavy vehicles.
- Striilir'ika-M Brilliant Baradium Micro-Missile: All salvo construction protocols also include low-flying targets of similar size.
- Infantry targets in number less than a squad in number are allocated a single missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Infantry targets up to an eight man squad are allocated a pair of missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Speeder bikes and similarly sized vehicles are allocated three missiles set to detonate on impact.
- Standard sized vehicles vehicles are allocated four missiles set to detonate on impact, targeting the underside or cockpit of walkers (whichever is less defended) and the roof of other vehicles.
- Heavy vehicles are allocated five missiles set to detonate on impact, targeting the underside or cockpit of walkers (whichever is less defended) and the roof of standard vehicles.
- Super-heavy Vehicles are allocated six missiles set to detonate on impact, targeting the underside or cockpit of walkers (whichever is less defended) and the roof of standard vehicles.
- Trat'aab Oya'karur-G-class Brilliant Glop Micro-missile: When these missiles are loaded, the mine only ever engages infantry targets.
- Infantry targets in number less than a squad in number are allocated a single missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Infantry targets up to an eight man squad are allocated a pair of missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Trat'aab Oya'karur-T-class Brilliant Trihexalon Micro-missile: When these missiles are loaded, the mine only ever engages organic targets including low-flying targets of similar size.
- Infantry targets in number less than a squad in number are allocated a single missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Infantry targets up to an eight man squad are allocated a pair of missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Anything else is allocated missiles based on it's size. Infantry-sized targets follow infantry salvo construction protocols, speeder bike sized targets are allocated three, standard vehicle-sized four, heavy vehicle-sized five, super-heavy vehicle-sized six.
- Trat'aab Oya'karur-P-class Brilliant Plasma Micro-missile: These missiles only engage targets lighter than heavy vehicles including low-flying targets of similar size.
- Infantry targets in number less than a squad in number are allocated a single missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Infantry targets up to an eight man squad are allocated a pair of missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Speeder bikes and similarly sized vehicles are allocated three missiles set to airburst or proximity detonation.
- Standard sized vehicles vehicles are allocated four missiles set to detonate on airburst or proximity detonation.
- Iral Sur'haaise-class Brilliant Dust Missile: The mine allocates missiles per target:
- 'Manda' Battlenet-compatible encrypted frequency hopping comm/ptp link: The mine links with other mines in the immediate area and links to the user's HUD suite or a data pad. The mine is also compatible with the 'Manda' Battlenet and will add to the combined sensor picture. The mine can be tasked to engage specific targets within range over this link as well.
- Power:
- Rylith Power Cell (provides approximately 3 months of use on a full charge.
- Camouflage:
- Multispectrum Disguise Suite and Environment Scanner: The sensor scans the immediate area and then determines what object to best disguise itself as.
- Deployment: The mine can be placed, launched out of a grenade launcher or dispersed via artillery or other specialized mine dispersal systems.
- Propulsion: When dispersed via artillery minelaying rounds or aerial minelayers, the sensors maintain a configurable distance from each other by using their propulsion systems to spread out.
STRENGTHS
- Swarm: Swarms of micro-missiles are much more effective than a scant few at penetrating enemy defenses.
- From Out of Sight: The combination of being difficult to detect and the fact that the mine attacks targets from range makes it an effective tool to use against an enemy force.
- Camouflaged: The mine features an environment scanner tuned multispectrum disguise suite that allows the mine to disguise itself as an object that fits in the immediate environment.
WEAKNESSES
- EMP/Ion: Should the system actually sustain EMP/Ion damage that bypasses it's defenses, then it can cause all manner of havoc, such as data corruption, sensor damage, forced reboots and even total system failure.
- Empty: The mines have a fixed ammunition count, once out of ammunition they're unlikely to be reloaded till recovered for redeployment and reuse.
DESCRIPTION
Essentially a metal cube with a 16x16 grid of mass-driver micro-missile launchers on two sides, the micro-missile mine was developed as a means for commanders to dissuade attempts to approach their perimeter even at approaches that their troops are not immediately able to respond to. These mines are usually deployed behind a curtain of more traditional mines, and often serve the purpose of softening an attack before the more traditional mines completely blunt it. The mines can be loaded with utility missiles such as glop missiles to slow and frustrate enemy troop movements or dust missiles for better battlefield monitoring.
The mines have multiple means of detection and can network with each other allowing for a wide reaching and robust sensor picture. This sensor picture is also shared over a local 'Manda' battlenet that the mine is linked into, allowing to act as sensor beacon as well. It's ability to access a networked, fused sensor picture gives it great ability to resist jamming and other means of electronic warfare as well as potentially detect even targets with an extremely low sensor signature.
The mine features the same environment scanner tuned multispectrum disguise suite that the company's other mines feature, allowing it to disguise itself as an object that fits in the immediate environment. It also features a Reflec coating to further frustrate detection attempts that also serves to conceal it's true nature to almost everything but focused scans while disguised. The combination of being difficult to detect and the fact that the mine attacks targets from range makes it an effective tool to use against an enemy force.
The mine's payload of micro-missiles are launched in salvos based on the target. These swarms of micro-missiles are much more effective than a scant few at penetrating enemy defenses. However, the mines naturally have a fixed ammunition count, once out of ammunition they're unlikely to be reloaded till recovered for redeployment and reuse.
