• Modularity: The module's programming can be updated. Naturally the module works as an additional memory module for the Gar'mirshe'ika droid brain. Similar enough droid brains could likely be modified to make use of this module if required.

SPECIAL FEATURES

• Target Selection Protocols: Protocols dictating appropriate target selection based on the round it has loaded.
• Fire Authority Protocols:
  • Fire At Will: Protocols that dictate that the droid will engage targets that have a hostile IFF signature or have otherwise been identified as hostile.
  • Designated Targets Only: Protocols that dictate that the droid will only engage targets that have been marked over datalink or the 'Manda' battlenet by friendlies.
  • Round Selection: The droid brain may choose to autonomously select what round it believes best for the present fire mission or the user may do so over datalink or the 'Manda' battlenet by friendlies.
• Movement Protocols: The droid will move as required to engage targets rather that to keep place with friendly infantry.
• Counter-battery Protocols: Protocols dictating the engagement of fixed and mobile artillery platforms once their positions and defenses can be ascertained. This may be with both direct and indirect fire weapons.
• Threat Avoidance Protocols: Droids will do their level best to avoid hostiles rather than engage them but will not hesitate to defend themselves if they calculate that conflict is unavoidable.

STRENGTHS

• Heuristic Learning Compatible: The module is designed to work with the Gar'mirshe'ika which is a heuristically learning droid brain, as such the module allows the droid utilizing it to add information it may have 'learned' through its experiences on to the protocols provided by the module.

WEAKNESSES

• Purpose-built: The module doesn't impart any skills to a droid it is installed into beyond those that it is programmed with.
• Gar'mirshe'ika Only: The module is designed to work specifically with the Gar'mirshe'ika droid brain. Similar enough droid brains could likely be modified to make use of this module if required, but 'out of the box', 'plug and play' compatibility is impossible.

DESCRIPTION

The artillery module for the Gar'mirshe'ika was developed specifically but not exclusively for the company's new mortar support droid. The module was designed to be able to provide the droids with all the information they would require to perform artillery droid duties effectively. Being designed as a memory module for the Gar'mirshe'ika, the module is fully compatible with the Gar'mirshe'ika's heuristic learning capabilities. The module allows the droid utilizing it to add information it may have 'learned' through its experiences on to the protocols provided by the module. Though not designed for use with other droid brains, similar enough droid brains could likely be modified to make use of this module if so desired, however 'out of the box', 'plug and play' compatibility is impossible.
