STRENGTHS
- Advanced Analytics and Learning Capabilities: The Gar'mirshe is an extremely advanced heuristically learning droid brain that puts a wide variety of analytical tools and databases at the droid's disposal to allow it to make the best possible decisions and learn to consistently do so in the face of changing circumstances.
- Suited to the Task: Each of the memory modules is night on perfectly suited to the task it was designed for, putting a wide variety of databases, supplementary programming and utility software at the droid's disposal to allow it to excel in its role.
- Resilient: The Gar'mirshe droid brain is built to last more or less anything that the droid might come up against while performing its functions, and is protected against a wide variety of damage that might be faced in an industrial environment or on the battlefield.
- Secure: The Gar'mirshe is extremely well-secured against attacks by slicers, and notably greatly protects access to the droid's core functions.
WEAKNESSES
- It's a Droid: Droids will scarcely ever display the same level of lateral thinking as an organic. As capable in their respective fields as these droids are, they will always be disadvantaged in that regard when up against an organic of equivalent experience and skill.
- EMP/Ion: The Gar'mirshe as would be expected has a lot of sensitive electronic components that if hit with a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon could end up greatly damaging or entirely frying the droid brain.
- Specialized: The memory modules do mean that the droids are entirely specialized in their respective roles/fields. They are not, and will never be able to perform another task that they weren't intended to perform.
- Capable Chassis: To take full advantage of the droid brain's capabilities, a suitably capable chassis is required. Without such, many of the droid's features are wasted.
- The Force: The droid brain has no defenses against the various force powers that can be used against it.
DESCRIPTION
"Yes, our droids are sentient. Yes, they wholeheartedly embrace the SuperCommando codex. No, they don't know what to do with credits and really, they've got no need for them. I'm sure they won't say no if you offer credits though, but what are you asking me for? That's a question for your droid."
- Breshig War Forge Consolidated CEO Shuklaar Kyrdol to press during the launch of the Gar'mirshe
"You'd think the fact that they can feel would make them any less deadly. It absolutely shabla does not. They just get pissed off when you shoot them."
- Strill Securities Colonel Ruus Kote speaking about the company's Gar'verd Infantry Droids who notably make use of the Gar'mirshe as their droid brain.
Mandalorians have always made use of droids since their earliest days, whether it was the Bes'uliik of legend, or the BL-series Legionnaire droids of times past, or the very modern, contemporary incarnations of the Bes'uliik and a wide variety of droids made use of by contemporary Mandalorians. To many Mandalorians, these droids were vode, aliit even. Breshig War Forge Consolidated had always sought to improve on that. Instilling their droids with what it meant to be Mandalorian, and giving them everything they need to do their task and nothing more, droids using the Gar'mirshe were not only easier to work with, but freely chose to carry out their assigned tasks. The droids carried out their tasks with the abject professionalism that the SuperCommando codex called for. The few droids that did request payment worked for pittance, most of them seeing very little use if any for credits.
Rather than produce multiple droid brains for multiple tasks, the company created an interchangeable memory chips to allow the droid brains to be configured to perform whatever role the droid it's being installed into is required to perform. The memory modules do mean that the droids are entirely specialized in their respective roles/fields. They are not, and will never be able to perform another task that they weren't intended to perform. These chips can be changed in an already assembled droid, but a full memory wipe is recommended first, and the company still discourages customers from changing chips on an already assembled, functioning droid. The droid's heuristic learning capabilities and advanced analytics allow the droid to 'learn on the job' and it's sentience programming gives it a degree of lateral thinking not usually found in most droids, allowing the droids to put their considerable databases, supplementary programming and utility software included with the memory chips to greater use. That said, droids still more often than not display a lesser degree of lateral thinking than organics, as capable in their respective fields as these droids are, they will always be disadvantaged in that regard when up against an organic of equivalent experience and skill.
The droid brain itself is built Mandalorian sturdy, and is protected against a wide variety of potential sources of damage that the droid might encounter in an industrial environment or on the battlefield. Additionally, the droid comes with a considerable cyber security suite, combining a variety of different measures to prevent unauthorized access, remote or otherwise. Should the droid brain be accessed by those without the correct codes and communication protocols, a magnetic pulse wiper will ensure that the droid cannot be subverted against those with works with and for. Should the magnetic pulse wiper fail, the droid brain comes with a baradium self-destruct charge that will destroy it.
While extremely advanced, the Gar'mirshe requires a capable droid chassis to take advantage of the variety of advanced features that it possesses. At the end of the day, it is still a droid brain, and the Gar'mirshe will be greatly damaged if not destroyed by any EMP/Ion weapons potent enough to bypass or overwhelm it's considerable defences. When it comes to the force, however, the Gar'mirshe is entirely defenseless. The company has a variety of solutions for the above when it comes to their own droids, and encourages customers expecting their droids to be engaging force users to develop their own solutions or use their upcoming solution.
