PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Hemispherical Detonation: The mines direct the entire force of the seismic charge upwards and outwards toward anything that triggers the mine.
  • Detection and Detonation: Provided no friendly IFF signals are in the detonation zone, the mine will detonate under the following circumstances if any of the following are tripped. The IFF safety feature can be disabled.
    • Gyroscopic Tamper Sensor: A gyroscopic anti-tamper sensor detects if the mine is being disturbed or tampered with and triggers an activation.
    • Seismic Sensor: If any major vibrations are detected, such as those generated by digging, footsteps, repulsors, vehicles or the like are detected within 20 meters of the mine, it will activate.
    • 360-degree FOV Electro Photo Receptor: Anything that is detected by the electro photo receptor that approaches within and out to 40 meters of the mine is tracked. If they attempt to withdraw and don't trip any of the other sensors, the mine will be activated. If they do not, the mine will be activated once they reach 20 meters.
    • EMS Scanner: The mines can be set to activate only when triggered by specific EM signatures, either those that are uploaded to the mine or ones that are detected by the mine.
    • LIDAR: If the LIDAR sensor detects hostile targets within 20 meters, the mine will activate.
  • 'Manda' Battlenet-compatible encrypted frequency hopping comm/ptp link: The mine links with other mines in the immediate area and links to the user's HUD suite or a data pad. The mine is also compatible with the 'Manda' Battlenet and will add to the combined sensor picture. The mine can be activated or deactivated over remote link as well.
  • Power:
  • Camouflage:
  • Deployment: The mine can be placed, launched out of a grenade launcher or dispersed via artillery or other specialized mine dispersal systems.
    • Propulsion: When dispersed via artillery minelaying rounds or aerial minelayers, the sensors maintain a configurable distance from each other by using their propulsion systems to spread out.
STRENGTHS
  • Seismic Charge: The mine's directional seismic charge is capable of causing dramatic amounts of damage out to ten meters
  • Multiple Detection Methods: The mine features both mechanical and sensor based detection methods, with the mechanical systems still retaining function in the event that the other systems are disabled.
  • Camouflaged: The mine features an environment scanner tuned multispectrum disguise suite that allows the mine to disguise itself as an object that fits in the immediate environment.
WEAKNESSES
  • Volatile: Baradium is a volatile substance, stray rounds and the like can set off the mine prematurely.
  • EMP/Ion: If the mine is hit with a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon, there is a good chance that said weapon would be able to overload it's defensive measures and fry the mine's circuitry.
DESCRIPTION
The ASM-01 Anti-vehicle Seismic Mine was designed specifically to inflict damage against heavy and super heavy armored vehicles. Though Strill Securities has no shortage of methods to deal with heavy and super-heavy armor, Breshig War Forge saw an opening in the market and sought to exploit it. The ASM-01 is the means they chose to attempt this with.
The ASM-01 features largely the same feature set as the G/EM-01 Gravity/Electromagnetic Mine in terms of detection, camouflage, deployment and the like. The mine features both mechanical and sensor based detection methods, with the mechanical systems still retaining function in the event that the other systems are disabled. It features an environment scanner tuned multispectrum disguise suite that allows the mine to disguise itself as an object that fits in the immediate environment. The mines are also able to be dispersed via artillery minelaying rounds or aerial minelayers, during which the mine's sensors maintain a configurable distance from each other by using their micro repulsor propulsion systems to spread out.
The mine has a number of advanced features over an encrypted comm or ptp link. The mine links with other mines in the immediate area and links to the user's HUD suite or a data pad. The mine is also compatible with the 'Manda' Battlenet and will add to the combined sensor picture. The mine can be detonated over remote link as well. The mine can also be detonated over said link at will.
There are some notable setbacks, however. Baradium is unfortunately a volatile substance, stray rounds and the like can set off the mine prematurely. Additionally, If the mine is hit with a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon, there is a good chance that said weapon would be able to overload it's defensive measures and fry the mine's circuitry.
