Only a very faint whistle may be heard in the event of a near miss.

- Fire Over Cover: With the in-built electro photo receptor, the weapon can be aimed over or around cover by way of the armature its attached to. This allows the user to engage targets without exposing themselves to enemy fire.
- Reliant on Platform Sensors: The system is reliant on the sensors and scanner systems on the platform that it is mounted on for target acquisition.
- EMP/Ion: While resistant to EMP/Ion damage, any damage that does actually get through will fry the weapon's circuitry like a protato in a deep-fat fryer.
- Long Reload: Reloading the weapon is a time consuming process that is difficult to do in the heat of battle.
- Heavy: The weapon is heavy, meaning that its use typically only relegated to armor that is power assisted in some way.
Designed to put extremely potent firepower at the easy disposal of soldiers, the A-03S Verpine Shatter Autocannon is the second in the line of over the shoulder firing back mounted armature weapons made by Breshig War Forge Consolidated. Typically, only those soldiers operating in a support role make use of this weapon, but it along with the MML-02S have become a favorite of the Vornskr Mirshir-Jurkad Rammikade, who find the extra firepower more of a necessity in their operations rather than a welcome advantage.
The main advantage presented by the A-03S is that the rounds fired by the weapon, like with most Verpine Shatter weapons, have a higher change of penetrating armor and causing significant internal damage than traditional slugthrowers. Like all Verpine Shatter weapons, the A-03S Verpine Shatter Autocannon is whisper quiet at the point of the shooter when fired on supersonic mode, and is dead quiet when fired on subsonic throughout the round's trajectory. Only a very faint whistle may be heard in the event of a near miss. Additionally, the A-03S also boasts the pinpoint accuracy of most verpine weapons.
The 'main' advantage of the A-03S however, is its ability to fire over cover and engage targets designated by the user independently of them if required. Naturally, however, the weapon has a manual operation mode, and can also be slaved to the user's head motions.
That said, the system is entirely reliant on the sensor and scanner systems on the platform that it is mounted on for target acquisition. The weapon is heavy, meaning that its use typically only relegated to armor that is power assisted in some way and suffers from a long reload process given how difficult the weapon can be to reach for the wearer of the armor. Though it is possible for another person to assist the wearer in this regard, they would have to be familiar with the process or they might end up making the process longer, or worse, incorrectly insert the weapon's magazine. Finally, while resistant to EMP/Ion damage, any damage that does actually get through will fry the weapon's circuitry like a protato in a deep-fat fryer.
