- DD-6: The DD-6 aided pilots in making quick calculations for bombing runs. However, their main purpose was intense onboard repair and deck aid during refueling and rearming once the ship returned to its mothership. The droid could repair a variety of systems failures and minor damage while in flight.
- SLAM: Offers a quick getaway from dangerous situations.
- Fast and Maneuverable: The Kandosii can outmaneuver and outrun many mainstay fighters
- Lack of Life Support: Without life support systems integrated into the ship, the pilot is forced to wear full flightsuits with limited breathing capacities, limiting their flight time on a pilot by pilot basis
- Silhouette: The bomber had a large and easy to hit silhouette.
- No Hyperdrive: A lack of hyperdrive means it must be ferried to and from battles.
- Quick Burst: SLAM could only be used for a few seconds at a time and if the S-foils were not opened within a few seconds of SLAM's deactivation the engine would overheat, melt, or explode in an extraordinary fashion due to the age of the engine design.
Fixed to the nose of the bomber were a pair of laser cannons as a means of self defense against hostile fighters. In its original design, the bomber also sported light blaster cannons, but because of the ship's limited mission profile, the weapons saw little use and were subsequently removed from the design in models built after the introduction of Mandalorian Steel as the standard construction material. The introduction of Mandalorian Steel plating saw the drastic improvement of survival during combat when compared to earlier models. Despite this seeming improvement to suitability, the cockpit itself continued to not utilize any life support systems, which required the pilot to wear a full flight suit.
The Kandosii bomber was unique in that it also held two separate ordinance bays. Torpedoes of various yields could be stored and launched from beneath the mid section of the starfighter's fuselage while a larger bomb bay was located directly underneath the pilot. The ship was equipped with in impressive array of targeting computers and quick-scan imaging systems which were maintained and operated by the even older DD-6 Maintenance droid. This allowed the bomber to deliver its payload with terrifying precision, destroying enemy weapon instillations or disabling even large warships with a devastating bombardment of ion torpedoes.
Long and slender, the frame of the Kandosii bomber was flanked by two S-foils used to dissipate heat from the SLAM engines equipped. These S-foils would remain open during most of the ship's operation time and would close, horizontally towards the nose of the ship when landed or during SLAM use. The S-Foils would need to be immediately opened after the SLAM burn was complete to keep the ship's engines from overheating and causing catastrophic damage to both the ship and the pilot. Skilled pilots could make the most of the SLAM burn by allowing the Kandosii to drift until the last possible moment on the burn's momentum before opening their S-foils in a maneuver called hetikles [HEE-tee-kless], or "Noseburn".
Over its long service, the Kandosii bomber flew through countless engagements. From the Battle of Junction to the Sacking of Coruscant, the Kandosii despite its age would continue to serve the Mandalorians faithfully for years to come and would hold the title for longest service within the Mandalorian Starfighter Corps.
