Question Bounty Hunting License Questions

Hello there! So not a new member here as many of you know, but i've been gone for a while due to life and am back. In my catching up on things, i've stumbled across the Bounty Hunters Code ruleset, and have a question. I know this forum says there are no stupid questions, but allow me to test that lol

If i'm reading the above linked rules correctly, it seems to revolve around player character bounties (I.E, someone takes out a bounty on one of my characters like Ignacious Korvan Ignacious Korvan ) as opposed to simply playing a bounty hunter going for npc bounties.

In my mind, i feel like making an amateur bounty hunter who is 'getting his reps in' and going after super low-level bounties would be a great way to get the 50 posts in, and make a very story driven arc around bounty hunting.

So my question is: would I be in violation of these rules by making a 'bounty hunter character', even though he doesn't have the 50 posts required yet to fill out the application and obtain a proper bounty hunter's license? Obviously, I wouldn't be engaging in the allowed behaviors listed in the ruleset yet (like entering open threads I wouldn't normally be able to enter to obtain a bounty). It'd just be a bounty hunter character who is FROM AN IC STANDPOINT a new bounty hunter, but i would apply for the bounty hunter's license once he reaches those 50 posts to go after those higher risk bounties (I.E player characters).

Does my question make sense? If the answer is painfully obvious then I apologize, It just came up in my mind and I wasn't 100% sure.

Great question to be honest. Fyremage Fyremage

You can write a bounty hunter character you just cannot collect/participate without the bounty hunter license. You could have them be story driven and work with other writers or use NPCs to gain the "rep" which would be posting in this sense. The 50 post and the license is what allows you to do what the rules/rework states ie: enter threads and the like.

So once you've gotten 50 posts you can apply for the license and have one of staff or MFO sponsor you.

Hope that answers your question

Thanks for the answer, and I think it does. If I understand correctly, there's nothing wrong with making a bounty hunter character and being a bounty hunter, as long as i'm not bypassing the whole point of the license and jumping into threads I don't belong in/taking on player bounties reserved for this license.

I think i might go ahead and launch this idea then. :D
