skin, bone, and arrogance
NOTE: If your character is in the Tier 3 Dominion of the Bakura Hex, they cannot be in the Dosuun Event until the endgame (this thread will announce when that is possible). The plotline of this details the Ssi-Ruuk's scheme. Using their ever-expanding war machine, swollen with enteched souls in starfighters and battle droids, the Ssi-Ruuk have developed the ability to maintain a two-front battle -- one in the Bakura Hex, the other at Dosuun.
The basic thrust is this: while the First Order's primary fleets are protecting the border worlds and engaging in the attack on Bakura/Endor, the Ssi-Ruuk strike at the capital. Elements of the Second Fleet managed to stall the invasion long enough for a significant portion of the civilians in the major cities of Avalonia, Prosperia, and Finalizer City to flee, either to the countryside or the shelters hidden in, through, and beneath the cities. Those who are unable to hide, or are found, face an agonizing fate: slaughter if they resist, entechment if they succumb.
With their communications disrupted, those left in the cities are unable to signal the First Order fleet for assistance, nor even reach out to the stormtroopers stationed at Zenith Base. With oppressive Ssi-Ruuk patrols stalking the streets, seeking out the resistance fighters they know are there but have yet to find, the people of Dosuun are isolated and terrorized. But there are those who refuse to give in, to cower and wait to be discovered by the saurian invaders. Resistance bases spring up in Avalonia and the countryside, concentrating what limited military resources are able to be smuggled and stolen out of the hands of the invaders. Runners streak across the city, taking communications from one base to another, coordinating attacks and operations in the absence of long-range communications.
The major resistance forces are concentrated in three main locations, code named:
The Garden started its life as a large station for the Avalonia Underground. It was built as a concept, one a dozen stations of differing varieties to give the Government an idea of how they wanted their system set up. The intention was that it would be turned into a functioning stop during the process, however during excavation, a pocket of poisonous gas was uncovered, injuring dozens of workers. Construction was halted pending an environmental report -- an environmental report that never came. Garden Square Station was thus never realized, and remained empty, as the Government prepared it for an alternative use: as an underground refuge in times of crisis. It was to this station that Grand Moff [member="Natasi Fortan"] and Major [member="Rolf Amsel"] were escorted during the siege, along with several hundred Avalonia citizens. The trains have been stopped along the tracks to prevent the invaders from fully searching the tunnels of the Underground, which, in total, shelter nearly a million First Order citizens in the labyrinthine warren of tunnels, offices, maintenance shafts, garages, and workshops that make up the Avalonia Underground system.
Stuff from [member="Maurice Dalton"] here.
The house and grounds at Breakriver, the private home of Grand Moff Fortan, now plays host to the small cadre of TIE Fighters that the First Order's Second Fleet pilots managed to break out of Ssi-Ruuk custody. [member="Roderik von Brinkerhoff"] and [member="Pierce Fortan III"] remain at the top-secret location -- so secret, it has not been plotted on any maps -- using their limited air force to perform strike-and-fade attacks against the Ssi-Ruuk, disrupting their entechment processes and providing air cover for the city-based resistance forces. A small number of civilians have massed here, and been pressed into service to assist with the operations where their skills match up with needs of the group.
