DESCRIPTION

Designed as a prototype long range mining and exploration vehicle, intended as the first of the Blue Dwarf-class, the vessel which became the home of Clan Angrund was launched unfinished from the yards above Mandalore during the Night of a Thousand Tears. Barely able to make light speed, the remnant of a once proud Clan left a dying homeworld, outbound to the unknown regions.

The ship itself is well able to self-repair, as well as serve as a manufacturing facility, utilizing raw materials drawn into the vessel's cavernous bow. Tractor beam and deflector arrays on the bow allow for materials to be pulled inside, and the forward sections of the vessel contain automated factories which can be reconfigured to produce anything the Clan might need. Repair and construction drones augment the ship's ability to carry out repair and construction tasks.

Built for long range missions, the ship has huge storage areas, as well as recycling facilities, hydroponics, and aquaponics for producing renewable sources of food and water. Never originally intended or designed to sustain so many Mando'ade, the vessel has been constantly updated and enhanced to support those who have come to live and work aboard.

The hull is thickly armoured, which is good, because the shields are civilian grade, and the vessel mounts no weaponry. Despite having good engines and maneuvering systems, the mass of the huge vessel and the draw on power of sustaining so many additional support systems means the craft is slow and lacks agility. The only time it can move fast is at lightspeed, with a state of the art hyperdrive, lovingly maintained, the ship's best and only means of escaping trouble.
