  • Sensor Echo Projection: The Bloodtide Lure Mine generates a convincing false sensor signature designed to mimic up to three starfighter-class vessels or a drifting debris cloud. This illusion includes fabricated electromagnetic trails, inconsistent heat signatures, and encrypted signal fragments that imitate systems in distress. The result is a bait signal engineered to provoke pursuit or intercept behavior from enemy squadrons.
  • Shardpulse Flechette Burst: When approached, the mine triggers a concussive plasma detonation interlaced with alchemically treated shard-flechettes. These microblades are capable of puncturing light armor, damaging targeting sensors, and maiming unshielded systems in a wide radius. Even after detonation, lingering false signals persist, adding chaos and confusion to the aftermath.
  • Sacrificial Rune Core: Housed at the center of the mine is a bloodpane matrix etched with Sith sacrificial runes and rituals. This core serves as both the energy source for the dark technological illusory field and the detonation trigger, channeling the pain and power of bound victims. The explosive release is thus more than mechanical, it's an act of vengeance encoded into every pulse and fracture.

  • Highly Effective Deception Tool: The mine's projection system produces a convincing multi-sensor illusion that can trick even advanced targeting systems. It can simulate damaged or vulnerable craft, baiting overconfident pilots or drones into close range where the mine detonates.
  • Lethal Anti-Fighter Payload: Its flechette burst is engineered to shred through fighter-class armor and overwhelm sensory systems. Even if a pilot survives the initial blast, the resulting sensor blindness can leave them helpless against follow-up attacks.
  • Chaos Propagation After Detonation: The shardpulse microblades emit echo signals even after detonation, confusing enemy formations into thinking more threats remain. This effect prolongs hesitation, misdirects firepower, and adds to the psychological disarray of hostile squadrons.

  • Limited Against Larger Ships: The mine is optimized for small targets; it lacks the concussive yield or armor-penetrating force to meaningfully damage cruisers or capital vessels unless deployed in overwhelming numbers.
  • Vulnerable to Preemptive Scans: Ships equipped with advanced counter-deception suites or Force sensitive pilots may detect the blood signal inconsistencies early. If identified in advance, the mine can be neutralized at a distance with ranged point-defense or sensor scrubbing.
  • Ineffective on Force Nullification: The illusion field and detonation sequence are powered by an alchemical Sith sacrifice-bound core, making the mine vulnerable to Force Nullification. When exposed to such areas, the mine's projection capabilities may fail entirely. Once these systems fade, the device is easier to detect, avoid, or disarm before detonation.

The Bloodtide Lure Mine Mk. I was forged in the alchemical foundries of Malsheem not merely as a trap, but as a lesson, one taught in the language of false hope and ruin. Designed by technicians of the Shadow Mind under the directive of the Shadow Hand, it was intended to weaponize overconfidence, to punish pursuit with suffering. Its name comes from the ritual that births it: each mine is sealed with the blood of a sacrificed traitor or fallen Jedi, their essence twisted into deception by Sith runes and bound into a crystalline matrix at its core.

In battle, the mine mimics vulnerability. It poses as a limping starfighter, a crippled wingmate, or the drifting shell of a pod cluster, whatever its projection algorithm has been configured to display. These illusions are not merely visual but replicate sensor echoes across multiple spectrums: thermal, electromagnetic, and transponder signal. Any enemy drawn to the false signature is rewarded with obliteration. The moment proximity thresholds are breached, the core collapses and unleashes a blooming detonation, alchemized plasma and thousands of razor-edged flechettes, each inscribed with lingering energy pulses that distort sensors after impact.

The Kainate favors such tools not only for the damage they cause, but for how they disrupt enemy cohesion. Squadrons that suffer a Bloodtide detonation report confusion, friendly fire, and delayed reaction chains in its wake. For the Sith, this is the mine's true value, deception made manifest, falsehood sharpened into a weapon, and fear sown deeper into the enemy's ranks. Among Kainate doctrine, it has become a staple for precise traps, retreating ambushes, and infiltration corridors, its pattern of false distress calls feared wherever it echoes.
