Mahporeem is acutely aware of its chronic manpower shortage, hence the production of its KX/B1 Monster Droids and B2 Super Battle Droids. However, these are not the only droids produced by the Imperial Remnant.
"Blastromech" Droids are among the strangest droids produced on Mahporeem, perhaps even in the galaxy. A "Blastromech" droid is a modified Astromech droid, designed specifically for combat. To create one, the unit's rotating head is removed and replaced with a twin blaster cannon, allowing it to function as a mobile weapons platform.
Blastromechs make excellent guards and sentries but poor open battlefield combatants, on account of their low speed, anemic weapon system and weak armor.
