• Bound Shadow Particulate Cloud: Upon detonation, the bomb releases a dense, particulate rich cloud woven from Sith Blackstone dust and alchemical soot. These particles are bonded to lingering shadow energies through binding seals, enabling them to consume ambient and directed light sources alike. Stars, weapon flashes, and even reflections vanish within the cloud, leaving an inky void.
• Sensor & Targeting Disruption: The particulate cloud scatters and absorbs a wide range of electromagnetic wavelengths, rendering traditional visual optics, infrared, lidar, and basic sensor sweeps unreliable or blind. The scattering effect is chaotic, ensuring even advanced sensor suites struggle to penetrate the shroud, greatly disrupting targeting while under the fields effects.

The Black Veil Bomb Mk. I is the Kainate's answer to the ancient battlefield tactic of smoke and shadow, refined into a weapon of modern starship warfare. Developed in the shadowed vaults of Malsheem Hypernautics, it combines the light eating properties of Sith Blackstone dust with an alchemical soot matrix bound by ritual seals. Upon detonation, the bomb unleashes the bulk of its potency in a single, violent surge, an expanding wave of particulate shadow that swallows light, scatters sensors, and smothers awareness itself.

This initial blast is the true stroke of the weapon's lethality, overwhelming optics, scanners, and sight, both natural and Force driven, before gradually settling into a lingering shroud. While the residual field retains enough density to frustrate hostile detection, it is less disruptive, ensuring Kainate forces advancing through the target zone are only lightly affected.

The shadow field itself is fully modular in scale, adjustable before deployment to suit mission parameters. In its most restrained setting, it can envelop a narrow bunker, hangar bay, or shield generator in a focused pall of darkness, leaving the rest of the battlefield untouched. At its maximum yield, the Veil expands into a suffocating hemisphere up to one hundred meters across, a wall of absolute blindness that isolates entire zones in battle. This variability ensures that the Black Veil is never a one-note weapon, its reach and concentration adapt to the will of the bomber and the demands of the kill.

Within its radius, the battlefield becomes a place without distance or certainty. Enemy gunners fire blind, guided only by instinct, while targeting systems chase ghosts and false readings. Command crews find themselves suddenly alone in the dark, cut off from visual contact with allies or the enemy. For Force sensitives, the sensation is worse, the shroud is a wall against their awareness, forcing them to doubt what they sense and see.

While often used to shield bomber withdrawal or to cloak a follow up strike, the Black Veil has found equal value in isolating command vessels, cutting off reinforcements, or rendering sensor-dependent defenses inert just before a killing blow.
