Dominion [Black Sun] Big Trouble in Kijimi City || BSS Dominion of Kijimi

Xeykard drew himself to his full height. The assembled Vigos had gotten here by cleverness, wealth, schemes, connections; the rare few with the correct combination made up those at the table. None would have made it without and understanding of strength. Xeykard presented his -- the eyes of a killer, the stature of a warrior, the will of a Sith.

"This one fought in the Third Imperial Civil War, through the fall of the Sith Empire. Then the Scar Worlds. Hunted Jedi and traitors, conquered sectors, shut out the SIA; from Coruscant to Dromund Kaas. There is blood to be spilled; this one will spill it."

He stepped back from the table. The remaining plots were of interest but not concern; his work was assigned. He would see it through.

"Isss there sssomething wrong," Hakar narrowed his reptilian eyes, "With lizardsss, Prince Avari?"

Aggressive instincts urged the trandoshan to taste manflesh but underneath it all his cold and calculating brain knew as well as Velzari that few loyal to Black Sun who opposed the Jedi were likely to survive. An injury or even a death might shake their foe's confidence but as long as it forced enough eyes off Sepan the outcome didn't matter.

"Victory comesss in many formsss. War isss good for busssinessss. How many livesss will the Republic ssspend on a local conflict? Our invessstment will be returned one way or another."

Hakar kept his attention on the gathered Vigos but his forked tongue tasted the air for a particular scent. She'd interjected before about the Five Veils. Tarsai Vigil. Cortessan Finance Group. Black Sun employed many data brokers and corporate spies. Paranoid suspicions briefly urged him to order a death mark placed on the girl's head just to be safe, but he instead decided she might be corrupt enough to keep alive. Divided loyalties could still be manipulated in the Black Sun's favor.

If Velis remained on Nar Shaddaa for long enough then Hakar would be able to track her.

"Ah yesss...of courssse, our Vigo on Ylesssia."

For just a moment Hakar hesitated and glanced at the Underlord. He did not recall any current operations on the Hutt world and that could only mean one thing. Whatever was happening on Ylesia...must be a top-secret Black Sun project. Unwilling to show weakness by admitting he wasn't aware of the details the trandoshan instead feigned comprehension. It never occurred to him that the falleen might be an imposter.

"Underlord Velzari expectsss tribute but the Black Sssun isss fair to thossse who are loyal. If you are an honessst thief there isss nothing to fear. If you are lying to usss and could have offered more then we will know."

They walked along in silence, though it wasn't exactly awkward. Kinley was humming a tune under her breath, apparently at ease with the world, but inwardly she was alert for the sound of bugs coming their way. Eventually he spoke indicating the air was getting warmer. Not warm enough for her sake, but it was a start.

"Tech's old. Imperial. I can crack it, if you can keep watch. Bugs won't like it if they catch me slicing their backdoor."

"Aye."
She tipped her hat to him and leaned against the old stone, her sharp eyes scanning the way while he worked his magic. The coast seemed clear enough, though she could hear the ice shifting further down the hallway. Either it was footfalls or just the blistering cold causing the metal to contract further.

Thayne’s slicing kit had seen better days, but luckily the maglock was in far worse shape. He held a compact data-spike up to the exposed socket. Sparks bit back as he wedged the tool into the node and got to work. The code was old, weak, and predictable. It wouldn’t take long.

A few moments later, Thayne smirked at the HUD on his tool. Its screen faded from a defiant levant to a surrendering green. Under heavy scanlines, the words ACCESS GRANTED was displayed.

We’re in,” he said, rising to his feet and turning to face Kinley. “I shorted the panel, so we can get back out this way - assuming the bugs don’t find us out and block it off.” There was always a chance, despite their combined skills. Was best to hope for the best and prepare for worst.

He nodded to the open portal and smirked. “Ladies first.

He worked quickly and soon they were granted that sweet sweet green screen. She did one last scan of the area to make sure nobody was following them. All seemed clear. So far so good, but things could change in an instant on jobs like this.

"Ladies first."

"And they say chivalry is dead." She smirked at him and walked through the door. It was certainly warmer in this area and after only a short walk they saw the steam rising from the boiler pipes. Along the far end of the room was another door, this one with less security and probably the back door they were searching for. It was almost a shame to go through it though because it was so warm near the pipes.

"Looks like we...."
She paused, her ears catching the distinct sound of someone coming.
