Hmm she had stretched and laid out enjoyign the feeling of being on the grass as here in the middle of the city it was a strange place to be. They got to look over all of the things, got to enjoy a picnic and nap... they we're so busy they got to have a nap when she was laying there finding a comfortable place to reach out with her senses when she was sleeping. A place where they could go and head through before she heard Sorel wake up and she yawned laying there with a nod of her head. "Just five more minutes." She was comfortable and that had been a good meal in itself before she stayed looking at the fun things. Now prepared to handle whatever the two of them could do together when she rolled over looking at the ground as the night sky was clear and full of some stars with the peaking signs of dawn on the horizon. She could see it from here while it painted the sky with a look on her face. "Hmm I don't know, we can keep exploring the city and see where it took us to work on the things here. There is the rest of the city we might be able to look through."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Five more minutes. Sorel wondered how many times that phrase had been used and five became thirty? Even contemplating the notion in the warmth of the ground made her feel sleepy again.

But why fight the feeling? So she lay back and closed her eyes. “Exploring sounds good. And fun. Once this five minute nap is over, yes?”

How long she was asleep she had no idea, but when she opened her eyes, the moon had shifted position and she had that awful feeling you get when waking from an unintended slumber in the middle of the day. She grabbed a drink of water and stood, hoping to get iron pumping around her bloodstream, giving her body much needed oxygen.

“It’s a big city. We should start again soon.”

Orihime had gone back to sleep and it was so comfortable to just sleep and enjoy the time she preferred it while staying there with a small grin on her face. Turning things over in her mind when she was awoken by Sorel and frowned a little. She had been having a good dream but now it seemed distant as she stood up with a smile on her face. "Yes lets go and explore the city." Now that they knew the language it might be a lot easier to figure out what the different things are when she jumped up and down a little to get herself in the mood to roam around. "I am ready, I am ready." Orihime was moving with all of her attention on the city after getting her stuff back and packed up. A small trash in the area she could put the wrappers in before going out towards the main gates with Sorel to continue exploring the city.

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
They tidied the area they were in up before moving on. Despite the city being overgrown, there was no excuse for leaving litter behind.

As they walked, Sorel was quiet for a short while before sharing, “I’ve been thinking about specialising as a Jedi. I know I avoid fighting wherever possible – I see that as a Jedi’s responsibility. Yet I feel drawn to life as a guardian. Tell me, do you see that as too much of a conflict and and could you see me developing in that career path?”

She was looking at Sorel while they were walking and thinking on the situation... no being a guardian who might not fight all the time or looked for fights might be one fo the most refreshing things she had seen. "No I think that woulld work out fine, most who claim they are guardians are the ones running headlong into a fight to try and wipe everything out so a voice of reason would work and be beneficial. I prefer the route of a sentinel for myself and I know my mother is making more equipment for each class and sect of the jedi to make them the best they can be so you might be able to help her make plenty of new and interesting things."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel was clearly in a reflective mood. “I had considered the path of a Sentinel. When my first Master died, it was a path I was sure I would follow. On reflection, I think I misunderstood what being a Sentinel was about. At least that’s what I think now. As you say, Guardians are not necessarily out and out fighters. Master Kenobi was a Guardian and yet he was also known as the Negotiator. He went on diplomatic missions but with an eye to having to resolve them by any means necessary. I suspect I would not have the patience to be a Sentinel.”

She looked at Orihime. “We are all different I guess. Which is how it should be. What is it about the Sentinel that appeals most to you?”

Hmm she had to think about that but. "I like that they usually think on their feet and go for the less normal solution. A guardian might negotiate or burst in, a consulor generally likes to talk and talk but a sentinel could look for ways to figure out and solve a problem. No real bad solution aside from breaking the law which would be bad but." She smirked and knew there was a difference between being a criminal and doing what you needed to do. It might be illegal to slice a terminal but if doing show helps catch a murderer then it could go into that grey area or something.... Plus there were fancy gloves for it that they had made. "There is also the different ways of using technology."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel nodded. She could see Orihime as a Sentinel. That blend of skills, the use of technology, the need to be a problem-solver.

“For a while I had considered the idea of being a Shadow. But I feared that it was too close to the Dark side. That they walked a line that I was unsure I could tread safely. I had…I had a bad experience of the Dark-side when I was younger. I don’t want to repeat that and maybe in part I don’t want to have to test myself. I fully believe I could never fall, but why take the risk? Am I making sense?”

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

"Yeah you are making sense." She said it with a smile on her face providing a nice idea of things that they would be able to do and work with before her attention went to Sorel. "And we all have to face the darkside, most I have seen decide to use it and enjoy it. A lot seem to fail the basic tests of being a jedi but want to still use the title so have to learn to adapt to them being around." She stayed with it when a few more ideas were coming to her in the city as she started walking through some fo the gate into the city and they at least had a way to read the street signs to learn what the different places were. She was looking at some buildings that were different stylle eateries or cafes now with a nod of her head.

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel sighed. She’d had the debate about being a true Jedi before and would no doubt have it again. Perhaps, she had sometimes reflected, she was simply born at the wrong time. At a period when the role of the Jedi and more particularly its executions were in a state of flux. Perhaps she was simply a throwback to a time long past? Possibly she was simply out of touch.

She had yet to accept that as the truth, but she was open and honest enough to have considered it. So she kept her own counsel wherever possible as to what constituted a true Jedi and tolerated those that used the dark-side or that ignored the Code – as long as they operated on the side of good. It was, for the present, the best she could tolerate and remain true to her own beliefs.

“I wonder what sort of food they used to eat here?” Sorel was not particularly bothered about eating – it served a purpose for her – but she knew it was an important factor when considering a planet’s culture. What they ate, when they ate, how meals were arranged, who ate with who – they all told you a lot about how a race functioned.

Looking at her with a nod of her head she provided a few ideas to get a small look. Hmm the type of food they served seemed rather good as she was looking at spicy and there was none left by now but they could get a very good idea of the planet itself. She was looking at one of the menu and guessing there was some meats, some veggies in what they were describing while walking down the way and the ghost city became a little less imposing when you had an idea of what they were going through. Different shops promising clothing as well and some apartments before they came out towards some of the larger streets that opened. "Alright this is the mainstreet they have going through the entire city and over and wash for rains. From here we can get just about anywhere in the city."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel still found this exploring slightly odd. Old ruins were one thing, but walking down a high street with shops and homes that was entirely abandoned. It was eerie to say the least. Food shops, clothing stores, household goods and even bars. All empty and uncomfortably devoid of life.

“I wonder if any of the shops or outlets still have stock in them?” The windows were so grimy and dusty it was hard to see through them. “It might be interesting to see the tastes of everyday folk from a bygone era.”

Hmm walking down the street she was looking at the things and it was going to be hard to imagine... but she knew that the snack cakes they had developed were impressive for having a shelf life but she wasn't certain what they might have had here while stopping in one of the food shops and there was things on the shelf. Some rocks and crystals along with all of the other things that they were working on for the different sections to develop it. Orihime was looking at the aisles with a small nod. "There might be some things here that we would be able to use but I am uncertain of what might be here from the era they were still around... or if it might be safe. Still we are jedi and should be brave."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel smiled. “I wasn’t planning on trying any of the food, but fashions vary from planet to planet and especially over time. What was sold as modern here when the civilisation collapsed would be extreme retro right now. But it also gives a flavour of the culture and development of the planet. We already know their stellar travel was basic, but what of their other technology, or clothes?”

By way of illustration, she headed into a shop that clearly sold clothes. Many of the shop dummies were bare, but others wore garments that were definitely dated. Not that Sorel could precisely sit in a position of judgement, given the clothes she wore had hardly changed in millennia.

She picked up a hat and, blowing the dust off it, tried it on for size. It was once a bright pink, now faded, and clearly something worn for ceremonial occasions, judging by the feathers it sported. “Not sure this is me!”

Hmmm that made sense she could see and had a few more ideas on how best to work with all of the information they provided here. The clothing was well she didn't know about dated but what was still around seemed very different then what was disintegrating from time. Orihime looked at the hat the Sorel was looking over and the feathers were rather strange but oh it was rather nice compared to some of the things when she was looking over parts of it. "Hmm I don't know, it could look rather interesting." She Held up some shoes and there was ornate mostly with jewels and metal on them with the leather down below that had mostly vanished. "THese look rather nice."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel smiled at the concept of Orihime in those ornate shoes. There was something about Jedi that jarred with the concept of fashion. Or at least in Sorel’s eyes there was. But she was aware that many within the Silver Order wore less traditional robes and every contemporary style the galaxy had to offer – but there was invariably a practicality to their choice and use. The shoes her friend held looked most unsuitable to spar in – which was invariably Sorel’s measure of what was right or wrong.

But they were here and there were so many fine things to look at – the colours and fabrics so dissimilar to the ones she was used to.

So she wandered from aisle to aisle, having shedded her cloak and outer tunic and added layers of colourful and soft clothes that no doubt clashed – but were fun to try on none the less.

Finally she wore a blazer with large shoulder pads – a shade of purple with sequins detailing the pattern of some tropical bird on the back. She also had a feather boa around her neck – a vibrant shade of crimson and she had a turquoise skirt on the outside of her trousers, that showed from the knees down.

“So this is how ladies dress,” she said, unable to contain a fit of the giggles. “Well, perhaps not.”

Orihime looked at the outfit and the shoulder pads with a look of surprise on her face. "Yeah but this worlds fashion is I am going to guess based on traditional for their older ways." She was looking at some of it and for her practically jedi clothing was great but it also let you stick out in a crowd which warned people you were coming and when you told bad people you were a good guy coming at them well they dind't do bad things and waited until you were gone. So wearing something that would be conceal your look would be practical and worthwhile to use... you couldn't change the stance of a jedi at the least. She was looking at more of the things though as she thought about it holding up some of the what she was guessing was a scarf and it was thick with feathers. "THeir clothing though is strange but I could see it, would distract and make people not think you were a jedi at least."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel laughed. “I’d agree you wouldn’t look like a Jedi, but then I’m less sure you wouldn’t stand out in a crowd if you dressed like this. Anyone dressed this flamboyantly would be sure to garner attention. I guess that for many of the worlds we visit, just being human makes us highly visible, Jedi or not. So I’m not sure there is a best answer.”

“I’d dress appropriately for an undercover mission but otherwise I’d wear my robes every day – it seems the only way. At least for me.”

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

She had to agree about that and wearing her robes all day was an important thing, it was one of the perks of being a jedi that you got to wear loose fitted clothing that breathed as opposed to tight uncomfortable uniforms. "Yes, I'd wear robes all the time if I could as well but I know the need for changing sometimes. THough with some of the new equipment it is a little easier now to keep wearing the robes in different places without worry. Those jet robes we were able to make were an awesome testiment to it and more protective then many of the other ones that have been getting made or are standard. I know the robes my mother made are better quality and have force treatments so they can actually make jedi using them stronger."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel placed her clothing back on the shelves. It was fun to dress up but she had no desire to wear any of the items again. Their value in going incognito was limited unless they visited a planet a few centuries behind the times – or that was having some sort of retro festival.

“I actually have a small collection of different robes now, but tend to always put these on.” She indicated her dark brown traditional cloak and tunic, with the leather being the only variation from the norm. “But I endeavour to switch them around from time to time. It seems healthy to do so.”
