Private Better to have one and not need it [Liin Terallo]

"Your security detail should be equipped with these tools then" Caedyn pointed out, "Surely they are well funded and capable of providing you efficient protection when you are out and about" The Jedi Knight looked to Liin Terallo Liin Terallo with an edge of uncertainty. How was he to teach her to protect herself if she wasn't willing to carry arms on her person?

"Perhaps physical combat is more advisable..." He suggested once more. Martial arts training did not require a weapon, but instead turned a person's own body into a weapon, refined and flawless if provided with adequate training and regular practice. "It may not be elegant for a Senator such as yourself but it can't hurt to try. There are methods of turning an opponent's momentum and strength against them in order to evade capture or incapacitation" he elaborated, hoping to convince the woman of the benefit of such training.

"My security detail are well armed, I assure you. And they may very well have binders amongst their equipment. I am afraid that I have not asked them to be certain."

The Jedi looks at me in such a way that I wonder if he is questioning why he is here in the first place. Perhaps he sees me as a lost cause? To allow him to think in such a way might lead my Father into being disappointed. Not in the Jedi but of me. I cannot allow that to happen.

And almost as though he can sense what I am feeling, the Jedi voices an alternative solution to my predicament. "Physical combat is not very lady-like at all. However, I did resort to it once when I was being carried off by a Sith lady. I pulled at her hair and she nearly dropped me. To learn other methods can prove useful. Are you able to teach me this?"

"I'm more than happy to teach you" Caedyn replied encouragingly, "However you might wish to get dressed in more simple clothing. Leggings that won't be able to be pulled at, clothing that hugs your body rather than something that might get in the way and be difficult to move in" The Jedi Knight gestured to her formal attire suggesting that it would hinder her in this activity.

Looking around the politician's residence, he also considered where they might be better suited to train. "Perhaps we could start tomorrow, and meet somewhere with more room to move, without risking any of your lovely decor to be broken. Your place truly is splendid and I would hate to see it damaged because of anything that I might have had a hand in" He chuckled softly, looking back to Liin Terallo Liin Terallo with a smile.

Caedyn could easily find housing for the evening, and meet with her once more on the new day.

I can only hope that the Jedi's suggestion of a change of clothing is just for the sake of the lesson. Leggings are not something that I am used to wearing. In fact I shall have to do some shopping to gain myself a pair of them. At the very least I am quite pleased that he has agreed to train me in these self defence techniques. I just hope that the fact that I do not have Force magic will not pose a problem.

I dip my head as he compliments my decor. I enjoy beautifully made things and architecture. Sometimes they are overlooked by others. But I rather enjoy the details.

"Thank you for the concern. This is the last place where I would expect self defence lessons. I can have a space provided for us tomorrow. As well as appropriate attire. There is lodging here for you that I can have shown to you. Feel free to explore the city. There is a Jedi Temple hidden within the jungles. I am unsure if you know Valery Noble Valery Noble ? She frequents the place whenever she is here and knows where it is located. It is not safe to venture in the jungle alone, even for a Jedi. The biodomes are here for a reason. So please be cautious."

Caedyn could only smile in response, "Caution is the very nature of the Jedi" he replied with clear amusement in his words. It wasn't a truthful statement, but more of a joke that he passed to lighten the conversation. His stay on New Cov would follow on into the next day, and so he would bid his leave of Liin Terallo Liin Terallo , offering her a respectful bow; "The Jedi Temple shall suffice nicely. Should you require anything of me during my stay here, I forwarded my contact details to your security captain prior to arriving today. Good day, Lady Torello" he fared her well before taking his leave.

The Jedi Temple on New Cov was perfect for his temporary residency. Already accustomed to the Jedi quarters similar to the Temple on Coruscant, only not as large and grandiose, these humble walls were much more to Caedyn's taste. The surrounding Forest offered the splendour of natural life away from the hustle of the capital city and Caedyn could make use of the facilities in preparation for their training session the following day.

My eyebrows rose in surprise as he appears to make a joke. I let out a short and quite laugh in response. But I know very little about how cautious the Jedi may be.

The jungles of course are no laughing matter. The plants theselves are sentient and flesh eating. And they aren't entirely stationary. Not all of them at least. I can only hope that this Jedi is fully prepared should he choose to walk to the temple.

I dip my head as he bows to me. "I will contact you in the morning when everything is fully prepared. So until then, peace be with you."

I walk him out of my office and allow security to escort him the rest of the way. Mentally though I am preparing myself for the tasks needing to be completed before my training is to begin.

By the next morning I am ready. The training arena has been prepared within one of the weapons testing facilities. I, myself am wearing slacks of all things. It feels strange and so very informal. Not to mention my legs feel confined. Yet I must now allow it to distract me. As I await my trainer I wonder if he will make fun of me. Already I have heard some of the whispering as I had passed by staff earlier. I can only hope that what things they say do not become known to me. I am quite sensitive to my appearance. I was raised to always look my best. And this attire is everything but my best.
