Material: Alchemalized Aurodium, Treated Terentatek Sinew

Strengths:
  • Artificial Force Bond: The bracelets were originally designed by their creator to form a sort of bond between their wearers such as one might experience from one naturally born of the force. This effect is rather transparent the moment both wearers place these accessories on their person. The connection is instantaneous, though not complete. Whomever wears the bracelets is able to 'sense' one another's emotional state, relative health, and even location. This allows both parties to essentially monitor one another with little to no concentration, giving them a sense of whoever else is wearing the other bracelet. The bond also allows the wearers to communicate, though not through words or direct thoughts. More impressions within the force. The benefits of this are obvious, though things can get a bit awkward if the bracelet isn't taken off during certain...activities.
  • Power Transfer: A more useful, and perhaps unexpected ability of the Bracelets is the ability to 'transfer' ones strength to the other wearer. This strength is of course based through the force, and thus does not work if say none-force using individuals are wearing them. The ability to transfer strength does not come without a cost, the one 'giving' the strength will obviously feel their own power sapped and taken away, also depending on the distance of the two parties this action becomes more difficult. A few meters? Easy. A mile or two? Difficult but not impossible. Entirely different planet? No.
Weaknesses:
  • Emotional Backlash: The trouble with a set of bracelets that allows you to feel one another's emotions is that sometimes the bond becomes slightly...overwhelmed. When one is wearing the bracelet and experiencing extreme emotion such as anger, lust, or greed, the emotions can 'transfer' to the other wearer. For this to occur the emotion must be quite extreme, for instance a small shouting match about dishes wouldn't do it but your boyfriend telling you he may have gotten another girl pregnant probably would. This transfer of emotion is also quite extreme, in that the other wearer experiences the exact same feelings as the original person.
  • Difficult to Remove: The bracelets are rather unfortunately, difficult to remove. Though nowhere near impossible, they can be quite a nuisance. Due to the way they were made, actually taking the bracelet is an annoyingly difficult process. In order to remove the bracelet one must first 'break' the connection that is brought on by them. This is done through meditation, taking anywhere between ten to fifteen minutes. If the bracelet is removed without breaking this connection it can cause extreme pain, unconsciousness, and at times a permanent laps into a coma.

Description:
The bracelets that would eventually be acquired by Aela and Jamie on Bastion started life in the most unexpected of places; Tython.

Originally crafted by a Jedi Master by the name of Biril Neru, the bracelets were meant to be a tool for better teaching padawans. The theory behind their creation was rather simple in effect. Biril had observed the interaction of a Jedi Knight and his Padawan that had been uniquely bonded through the force. Through observing this bond he saw that the Knight and his student had a rather unique and more accelerated method of study. Through the bond the Knight was able to better guide and teach his student, allowing him to monitor their progress more closely and give them guidance when needed.

Biril, seeing the advantages of this, and being known as a Master Crafstman immediately went to work.

What he created were these two bracelets. Initially Master Neru crafted only one set of these unique artifacts, thinking it best that they were tested before they saw any serious use. The Council agreed to trial a program based around the bracelets, and the accessories were given to a Jedi Master and a new Padawan.

At firs the Trial went fairly well. The Master and his new Student went off on missions together and learned quickly. The artificial bond that the bracelets created were found to be an incredible help in almost everything. The bracelets allowed the Master to make sure the padawan did not overstep his emotion, allowed him to present proper technique methods directly into the padawans mind, and in general set the Master and Student relationship to a level that had only ever been seen in natural force bonds before. The complication came when the Bracelets true glitch was set to the test with a rather unfortunate event.

The Padawan, still relatively young, was corrupted by a Sith while on a mission on his own. The boy was tortured, beaten, and eventually broken. Throughout his treatment his Master refused to take off the bracelet, attempting to instead use the artifact to find him. The Master was too late however, and upon the Padawan's breaking the transfer of extreme emotion proved too much for even the Master to handle, and thus as the student fell, so did the teacher.

Though both Master and Padawan were eventually hunted down, it was this event that proved the creation of an artificial bond was simply too risky, and thus the bracelets were locked away.

Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case with tests of time, the bracelets were eventually lost to the Jedi Order. Perhaps stolen by a wayward Padawan or simply misplaced, the bracelets eventually made their way off Tython. Over the centuries they saw meany wearers, even being separated at times, but always they found their way back to each other. Eventually the Bracelets ended up in the hands of two Sisters from Bastion, Villia and Villith.

The two high nobles found a tale of the bracelets within their fathers library, and using their fathers wealth were able to quickly acquire them.

Perhaps fortunately for the galaxy, the sisters never got a chance to wear the bracelets.

Before either of the twins could ever put on the accessories they were stolen by one Aela Talith. Aela and her padawan Jamie had been on Bastion for a mission, uncovering a Cabal in which Villia and Villith's family were involved in. The sisters, trained assassins and confident narcissists attempted to kill the two Jedi, Villia in particular striking directly at Aela and Jamie after slaughtering a Noble family that would have helped the Jedi.

It was from Villia that Aela 'acquired' the bracelets, with the Jedi Marshall taking them from the girl before she and her sister ever had a chance to use them.

The Bracelets are now owned by Aela and Jamie, with the Master and Padawan duo using them for their original intent.
