ADVANCED SYSTEMS

[*]
Stealth:

Strengths:
  • Ability to resist conner nets and EMPs
  • Ability to detect cloaked ships via interstellar cloud generation
  • Ability to penetrate interdiction fields
  • Heavy firepower
  • Can fly long-distance flights in non-straight trajectories in hyperspace or Otherspace
  • High resistance to slicing attempts
  • Stealth capability
Weaknesses:
  • The interstellar clouds it creates are easy to detect, as well as all objects moving through them.
  • The ship has an especially large energy signature that can be tracked when jamming sensor frequencies or firing the bomblet generator
  • Limited interstellar cloud generation capacity (can only use them twice before it needs to be replenished)
  • Limited interstellar cloud range (10 km from the craft)
  • Takes up a large amount of hangar resources: it takes up the amount of resources of an entire squadron of attack craft in a hangar bay
  • Exposed cockpit
  • Cannot simultaneously power the weapons suite or the stealth suite
  • Cannot jam all frequencies when a slicing operation is underway: the frequency used for the slicing operation must remain open
  • The craft may explode if the bomblet generator is fired too often
  • The guns can only fire forward
Description: After the recent slicing operation in the Wheel, granting her access to a steady stream of credits, Petria decided to have a ship custom-built so that she could do her own espionage and slicing operations on the go. The process started with buying an old light freighter frame on Bandomeer's black market, and then to proceed with the modifications as part of the reconditioning, using state-of-the-art avionics and weapons, allowing it to conduct espionage and slicing operations. With it, she decided to replace the original two flex-tube launchers for one bomb bay and also to tack on an additional bomblet generator. In addition, she decided to have the guns installed facing forward over turreted guns as a space-saving measure. In the end all those advanced systems ended up taking up the equivalent of one deck on this three-decker called the Bes'solegot (Iron Computer in Mando'a) by its owner.

The solution used to detect cloaked ships using gravitic amplitude modulators is a small-scale version of the interstellar cloud generator: it still uses plasma projectors and microflechettes but here they extend only 10 km out from the ship, with objects passing through the dust cloud being detected by analyzing the particle and gas displacement through the dust cloud. Also, thanks to the limited space for the microflechettes onboard, the ship needs to recharge the microflechettes and chaff after two uses of the artificial dust cloud generator, one each coming from port and starboard. However, the resources needed for the upkeep of such a diminutive AWACS platform are staggering: it takes up the resources of an entire squadron of starfighters if the pilot decides to have the craft hangared onboard a larger ship, most often out of resupply necessity.
