Using the same technique as various armor weave gear, Beskarweave cloaks are often made as either a light armor for Mandalorians looking for a less traditional armor, something extra for protection, a simple guard against the elements. The beskar woven into the cloak helps protect from energy damage, but it's not more useful against a good old right hood or vibroknife. It's also quite versatile, though easy to grab by an opponent while being worn.
