Intent: To create a heavily armored, shock-trooper variant on the Mandalorian Armor designed for mid to short range battle. Thematically rather than fitted plates that butt up to one another, the armor relies on overlapping plates to provide increased protection at the cost of mobilty.

  • *Left Knee: : 2x Dart Launchers with sennari coating system for darts


-Gauntlets-
  • *Hardpoints for 2 weapon(s) system(s) per gauntlet(flamethrower, grappling hook, low powered blaster... Rocket/missile system on this platform would take up 2x slots, up to 2x dart launchers may be considered as taking up only 1x slot)
  • *Slot on left gauntlet for interface control for computer control for said systems and other systems connected to suit controls via various hardpoints (knees, back, etc..). If this slot is active, only 1x weapons system may be.

*Left Gauntlet:
  • *Control system for hard-pointed weapons (knees, gauntlets, back, shoulder mount). Able to aim, fire, reload and perform all associated functions with weapons systems tied into said system. This system can be slaved to the helmet systems to allow firing via blink and voice comands, though only for short periods of time.
  • *Grappling hook system with 5 pronged (and barbed) liquid-cable launcher system
*Right Gauntlet:
  • *Flamethrower: Uses standard accelerant and fuel system. Nothing special really, does what it says on the tin.
  • *Blaster: modified and re-worked Model 434 "DeathHammer" heavy blaster pistol from Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc. reworked to fit a gauntlet and fire via said systems weapons control.

-Backplate-
  • *Hard point for 1x propulsion system with medium grade weapon (mid-range rocket, shoulder mounted slugthrower or blaster, etc..)
  • *Currently equipped with: Modified JT-12 Jetpack. Missile has been ditched in favor of extra fuel tank, increasing the time by double the standard listed (4 minutes total, 80x 3 second blasts capable of standard lift height/travel and speed of a model JT-12 pack.

-Shoulder-
  • *1x Hard-point per shoulder plate
  • *Current Load-out: Pending

*~ GENERAL FEATURES NOTE: Any modifcation or installation of different equipment will require a thread to develop said weapon/system and install it into the armor, consisting of a minimum of 10 posts. Switching out between two technologies (All of which shall be unique and only to function with the beskar'baak's system) will require no more or less than 1 post dedicated to the action at any time, assuming the tech is within reasonable reach/distance to swap out.

Description:
Departing heavily from the classical Mandalorian Armor, Ijaat's suit is a revolutionary design based around one sole principal: To soak up as much damage as possible. This design swaps out speed and flexibility heavily for sheer staying power, the plates thicker than average beskar'gam, with fewer tricks and such up it's sleeve.

The chest plates still bear the iconic collar, two pectoral plates, a chest diamond, and an ab plate. The shaping is less sweeping curves and more sharp ninety degree angles, the plates themselves riveted together on the armorweave body suit or to the arming vest overtop said suit. The abdominal plate is scalloped into three bands that are riveted/skived and sequenced strapped together to allow greater movement than such a thick plate of armor would if solid, but still less than traditional ab armors for Mandalorians.

The shoulders are less flap-plates and more form fitting rounded shoulders that fit almost like the shoulders/spaulders of the troopers from the Clone Wars and the Galactic Empire's Storm Troopers. Each has a fluted vane designed to catch and direct incoming fire or strikes from a melee weapon down and away from the face and neck of the wearer/

Flowing from the shoulders are segmented bands of bicep armor, scalloped much like the ab plates. These are made in such a way as to be re-directs much like the shoulder armor, offering little weakness to get in except the inside of the elbow, and a slight opening when the elbow is bent to move the arm, even though the gauntlets flair ever so slightly to compensate and cover this weakness when the arm is extended and not in flexion.

The gauntlets themselves, on this suit at least, are simple. They contain standard mandalorian interfaces for very crude and minimal slicing (the barest of functions) and control uplinks for basic ship and command functions, but not much else besides a brace of three throwing knives in each one. They containt hardpoints and uplinks for a control system and weaponry to be added some day down the road, but do not posess said functionality at this time.

The hand plates are just that:-thick slabs of plated hand armor, each one patterned after the old Republic/Imperial Commando, with inset vibro blades made of mullinine, though they are extremely short and pyrimidal in shape, so they serve as little more than last resort punch daggers . They are light enough to barely be felt when the hand moves, but due to their shape and size, are prone to chipping and shattering with repeated use.

The cod and thighs follow suit of the hand plates, with simple slabs of beskar with fluting and shaping to direct and slough blows away from vital areas. The thighs in particular are more protective than standard armor by being three quarters coverage and covering part of the back of the thighs as well. The knees, at least on this model, are nothing more than again, thick angular plating designed almost like a series of solid rectangular planes welded together, with contact points for possible upgrades at a later date, but nothing actually functional added.

The shins are near fully encompassing, just like the thighs and biceps, and seem to be studded with beskar rivets, ostensibly for extra protection, or possibly because to the maker it looked fitting. They are angled, fluted, and overlapped to prevent anything but a very precise upward strike from finding purchase, let alone striking home.

The boots are standard plates of metal sewn to spacers leather, with mag-locks in the heels, to anchor himself against impact such as from a blast or such other high inertia/momentum strikes or hits, or even brace against extreme recoil from a weapon he might be firing.

The backplate is a solid flexed piece of metal much like the traditional armor, with a small modular box for mounted weaponry or a jet pack or the like to interface into. It also has riveted to it a long flowing green cape that sometimes Ijaat is seen to unpin and tie around his waist almost like a sash or kama, or even drape from the let shoulder almost like a half cape.

The helmet is much like a traditional Fett helmet, but lacks any external or extended range finders, but has a host of various features installed. The cheeks of the helmet match the armor, being more angular and cutting, as well the visor is the same, with two unique jags to the side of the visor which allow for greater peripheral vision.


Note: MK II. Not really considering this WIP anymore. It's ready to be thoroughly picked apart.
 
Not sure why it's WIP? Do I have to/need to have every weapons systems fleshed out and made before I can have the shell/framework itself? Feel free to PM me a reply if you'd rather not discuss it here.

You marked it as WIP via tagging so I figured you were doing a dev thread for beskar.

Edit: You just need a thread for Beskar following the following rules, as quoted by our Restricted & Banned Items list;
Beskar (( Objective: Perform a mining operation, a raid, an excavation, or steal to obtain Mandalorian Iron Ore from any of the following planets: Mandalore, Concordia –OR— inflict a devastating defeat on a Mandalorian character and have them verify it. Characters belonging to the Major Faction whose influence covers Mandalore and/or Concordia are exempt from fulfilling this objective.
All tech submissions involving Mandalorians using Beskar will require a forging or construction thread of at least 10 posts where the item is made. Limited or minor production items will require longer dev threads of 20 and 30 posts respectively, or at the discretion of the Factory Judge. ))
Please note: The defeat of a Mandalorian character must be a PC, not an NPC, for this objective to count.
