OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Intent: To create a new species for future submissions and role-playing.
Canon: N/A
Permissions: N/A
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Name: Berserker Weasels (Mustela Nani Saevissimi)
Designation: Semi-Sentient
Origins: Cloned; Geonosis
Average Lifespan: 8-10 Galactic Standard Years
Estimated Population: Planetary (24,000 per batch)
Description: By genetically-enhancing a common weasel sub-species, then raising them with a regimen of anabolic steroids, nutrition supplements, and low doses of phencyclidine, the Berserker Weasels becomes hyper-aggressive, more physically powerful, and are able to project a Force-neutral bubble, which is functionally similar to that of ysalamiri. Before deployment, they are given injections of rabies, which only fuels their rage and delirium.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION:
Breathes: Type I
Average Height of Adults: N/A
Average Length of Adults:
  • Males: 560-580mm
  • Females: 480-510mm
Weight:
  • Males: 2.05kg
  • Females: 1.40kg
Skin color: White
Hair color: Winter fur is soft and tall, with dense underfur and long, sparse guard hairs. Thick, the species is well protected against wind and cold temperatures. The base color of the fur is white-yellowish, very light in color, while the dark brown tips of the guard hairs have a frosting effect. The tail, shoulders, upper back, flanks, are all piebald. The head is piebald also, with darker coloring than the rest of the animal.
Distinctions: None, the species is cloned.
Poisonous: No, however the animals are infected with rabies.
Races: N/A
Force Sensitivity: None
STRENGTHS:
  • Force-Killer: Genetic manipulation of this sub-species has given them the ability to neutralize the effects of the Force, similar to Ysalamiri in scope and effect. In large groups, this effect is expanded and intensified proportionately. The Force-neutral bubble can sever a Force-User’s ability to manipulate the Force, or even to connect with it for so long as they remain inside of the area of effect. Should the animal be killed, the effect will linger for nearly an hour, gradually weakening before fading entirely.
  • More Power: The process used in raising these creatures involves a special nutrient-rich supplemental diet and regular use of steroids to increase muscle strength and density, giving them notably much more strength, endurance, and speed than their non-augmented cousins. For even a grown man, wrestling with one of these can be very difficult and against several, he could be quickly overpowered and knocked to the ground. In addition, the animals’ bites and clawing actions can be considerably more effective.
  • Hard to Kill: Due to increased production of adrenalin and the introduction of steroids, phencyclidine , and other augmentations, the creatures can be much harder to kill than normal specimens of the species. Extremely violent, they are in a prolonged state of excited delirium, and can far exceed the usual punishment needed to kill or incapacitate normal weasels.
  • Heightened Senses: These animals possess terrific night-and-low-light vision, powerful hearing (able to discern sounds from great distances or even detect beyond the scope of most mammals’ hearing), and have excellent tactile sensitivity, which aids them in climbing and hanging from high surfaces.
  • Stealth and Agility: Berserker Weasels can climb near-vertical surfaces and even hang upside-down from tree branches or similar surfaces, due to their tactile sensitivity and razor-sharp claws. They are very fast, easily able to run down a grown adult human at full speed across short distances. They can leap 2-3m both vertically and horizontally. Their coloring, size, and unique anatomy allows them to hide easily in shadows or darkened spaces, to blend into foliage and ground cover, and to move through extremely small and confined spaces surreptitiously. They can also swim across ponds, lakes, and slow-moving rivers and streams.
WEAKNESSES:
  • No Armor: Berserker Weasels have no natural armor, and they can be killed or incapacitated using most weapons types.
  • Not Force Invisible: Though they can create a Force-negating bubble, they can still be detected by Force-Users outside of this bubble, who will see them as a ‘black spot’ in the Force.
  • Stealthy Not Invisible: While these animals are extremely naturally cunning and stealthy, they are still possible to be detected using technological means, such as thermal vision and infrared. However, due to the special density of their fur, detection through RADAR/SONAR methods is much less likely unless moving in large groups together.
CULTURE:
Diet: Carnivorous, these creatures are exceptional hunters. Like all weasels, they can be instinctively cunning and surprisingly stealthy, and can be incredibly aggressive due to the regimen of steroids used in their raising coupled with the effects of rabies and phencyclidine which are also introduced. Usually preying upon insects, rodents, fish, and small mammals, they will attack larger animals while in groups using often coordinated hunting methods. Five or six will attack humanoid creatures, but in groups of a hundred or more they will not hesitate to attack creatures as large as bantha and easily capable of killing such an animal. Due to the steroid/phencyclidine combination, these creatures are exceptionally dangerous and unpredictable, aggressive and relentlessly violent.
Communication: Able to communicate with one another through kinetic communication as well as whistles, chirps, clicks, purrs, and other noises, in the same manner as typical weasels.
Technology level: N/A
Religion/Beliefs: N/A
General behavior: Natural predators, Berserker Weasels are physically powerful, fast, and nimble, and capable of cunning and efficient natural stealth. The regimen of drugs and the introduction of rabies has turned them into hyper-aggressive, delusional creatures that, while still able to work together through coordinated and often sophisticated pack hunting, are also terrifyingly dangerous. A single bite can transmit rabies infection to their victims, while their strong jaws, razor-sharp claws, and powerful bites can inflict considerable damage on ‘soft’ targets like flesh, clothing, and even light armor. They have been witnessed to also gnaw through wiring and chew through metals, wood, and plastics.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Created in secret by the Veterinary Corps of the CIS Ministry of Science, the genetically-enhanced animals are several degrees more powerful, faster, and nimbler than the standard variants of this species. During their maturation process, a special combination of anabolic steroids, specially-formulated nutrients, and phencyclidine are introduced, enhancing their natural abilities, physical prowess, and aggression to extremely elevated levels. Finally, before being deployed, they are infected with rabies. The resultant state of ecstatic delirium, hyper-aggression, and hallucinatory rage is sufficient to turn the formerly mild-mannered species into a veritable killing machine. To make matters worse, they have been genetically enabled to produce Force-neutral bubbles with effect similar to the ysalamiri species. Moreover, in large groups, they can be incredibly lethal and destructive, able to kill even very large animals and the effect of their Force-neutrality is amplified considerably. In all, Berserker Weasels create an unpredictable, highly dangerous, and relentless threat to any soul unlucky enough to meet them.
