STRENGTHS
  • Specialized Non-Lethal Capture Role - Designed primarily to subdue, immobilize, and capture targets rather than destroy them, making it ideal for bounties, prisoner acquisition, and battlefield control.
  • Carbonite Projector Integration - The grasper-jaw-mounted carbonite projector allows rapid immobilization of organic and droid targets with minimal collateral damage.
  • Extensive Restraint Systems - Electrified Net Guns and multiple Stun Nets enable simultaneous capture of multiple enemies or the neutralization of agile targets.
  • Very High Speed - Faster than most Basilisk variants, the Beroya can rapidly pursue targets, easily perform flanking maneuvers, and quickly reposition during engagements.
  • Repulsorlift Terrain Stabilization - The repulsorlift engine prevents sinking in sand, mud, snow, and bogs, enabling operations in environments that would immobilize conventional heavy units.
  • Pack-Based Coordination - These Basilisk War Droids are optimized for deployment in coordinated groups, with multiple Beroya-type sharing sensor data and responding to the same Pack Leader.
  • Semi-Sentient Adaptive Intelligence - With cognition comparable to a dog or human toddler, the Beroya can recognize threats, remember allies, adapt to terrain, and respond intuitively to changing situations.
  • Strong Rider Bonding - The Beroya is known to form a protective attachment to its assigned rider, increasing responsiveness, interception behavior, and defensive prioritization.
  • Psychological Intimidation - The Strill sound emitter can induce fear, hesitation, and panic in enemies unfamiliar with Mandalorian fauna, especially in low-visibility or night operations.
  • Effective Crowd Control - Net launchers, stun systems, and intimidation tools allow the Beroya to disrupt formations and isolate priority targets.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Lethal Firepower - The Beroya lacks the overwhelming destructive capability of bomber or assault-focused Basilisk variants.
  • Reliance on Close to Medium Range - Included capture systems require proximity, exposing the unit to concentrated fire during engagements or capture attempts.
  • Vulnerability to Ion and EMP Weapons - Despite internal agrinium shielding to provide additional protection against radiation and EMP-based attacks, electrical disruption can temporarily disable or severely impair its systems.
  • Low Resistance to Lightsabers - Jedi, Sith, or Force-users equipped with lightsabers can breach armor plating in close combat with relative ease, far more easily than standard infantry weapons.
  • Emotional Instability Upon Rider Death - The droid may howl, shut down, or behave erratically if its Pack Leader is killed, often protecting and refusing to leave the body of their deceased leader, reducing combat effectiveness.
  • Reduced Effectiveness When Isolated - The Beroya is designed to operate in packs, and single-unit deployment significantly limits its tactical potential.
  • Carbonite System Logistics - Use of the integrated carbonite projector requires specialized maintenance, coolant management, and resupply, all of which demand specialized facilities and skilled technicians to properly maintain.
  • Environmental Limitations - Beroya-type Basilisk War Droids are known to perform poorly in extreme cold, high radiation zones, and in prolonged sub-zero environments, as these elements can rapidly deplete energy cells and degrade internal systems.
  • Large Physical Profile - These droids are difficult to conceal and easier to target in open terrain.
  • Not Space-Combat Capable - While space-hardened, it is not intended for zero-gravity riding or spaceborne maneuver combat.
DESCRIPTION
The Beroya-type Basilisk War Droid is a specialized Mandalorian war construct designed for capture, control, and pursuit, rather than outright annihilation. Where other Basilisk variants emphasize brute force or bombardment, the Beroya-type excels at subduing high-value targets alive, making it a favored asset for Mandalorian enforcement actions, bounties, and precision battlefield operations. Built with enhanced speed, maneuverability, and defensive resilience, the Beroya-type moves with surprising agility for its size. Its repulsorlife engine is not intended for aerial riding or space combat, but instead serves to stabilize the droid over unstable terrain such as sand, mud, snow, and bogs, allowing it to traverse environments that would trap or slow other heavy war machines.

Armed primarily with a carbonite projector integrated into its grasper jaws, along with electrified net guns and stun nets, the Beroya-type focuses on immobilization and containment. These systems allow it to overwhelm targets through coordination rather than raw firepower, particularly when deployed in packs.

True to previous Basilisk variants, the Beroya-type is semi-sentient, possessing intelligence comparable to a trained animal or young child. It forms strong emotional bonds with its assigned rider, whom it recognizes as its Pack Leader, and with other Beroya-type units operating alongside it. When a Pack Leader falls, the droid is known to emit prolonged howls of distress through its Strill sound emitter, mirroring genuine grief responses observed in living pack animals.

When deployed in groups, Beroya-type Basilisk War Droids function as a coordinated hunting pack - isolating prey, cutting off escape routes, and subduing targets with ruthless efficiency. Alone, they are dangerous; together, they are relentless.
