- Slice and Dice: Beric Layne's lightsaber, like most standard lightsabers, is able to cut through a wide variety of materials and objects. In addition to that, Beric's lightsaber can deflect projectiles such as blaster bolts and work underwater.
- The Good Stuff: Beric's lightsaber will be shorted out for a short period of time after coming into contact with materials that have certain properties, like Cortosis. In addition to that, Beric's blade is not able to cut through lightsaber-resistant materials.
Beric Layne's lightsaber is a weapon unique to him, crafted in his early teens under the tutelage of his parents. It is a tradition in House Layne to construct a lightsaber by the time one turned fourteen, Beric received his kyber crystal from the family crop in the ice caves under Frosthall, enduring the trials necessary to become worthy of the living crystal. Constructing it under the guidance of the force, Beric eventually made a lightsaber featuring beryllium and cerakote detail plating, as well as the arctic-blue lightsaber shade that was common to all lightsabers made by House Layne. Although his weapon's styling is unique to him, Beric's lightsaber performs much like any other; it is able to cut through most materials and deflect projectiles, exceptions to this being material with special lightsaber-resistant properties. Altogether, Beric's lightsaber is a standard but special weapon that the Lord of Frosthall uses regularly in combat and everyday life.
