- Large Attack Craft Wing - The Bellerophon-class can house, maintain, and deploy a full wing of three attack craft squadrons as well as a single squadron of support craft.

- Offensive Firepower - The class has little room internally for the power management and regulations systems for large weapon and therefor has only smaller defensive weaponry.
The Bellerophon-class is designed to ferry large numbers of fighters into an area then deploy them for various missions as needed. Normally the vessel would jump into a system on the outskirts of the gravity well and launch her attack wing which proceeds into the system to perform missions. This tactic general keeps the vessel safe from a counter-attack from other capital ships that outgun them.
The dorsal hull contains a circular section of armored hangers each with a reinforced hanger door protected by an individual shield projector. Each of the six dorsal hangers can accommodate a half squadron of attack craft. A seventh ventral bay contains the fourth squadron of support craft. The support hanger hoses the support squadron as well as operates as a repair bay These outer hangers are connected to an inner bay
Small defensive weapons give the vessel goof defense from close-ranged attacks and long-ranged projectile attacks but none from capital grade weapons such as turbolasers, ion cannons, and mas drivers. For this, the Bellerophon relies on its thick reinforced armor and shielding.
Advancements in A.I. enable the Bellerophon to operate with a much smaller crew making more room for the large hanger bays required to carry the four squadrons the class deploys. Advanced Repulsor Catapults and advanced tractor beam projectors make deploying and recovery of its wing much more streamlined far less time-consuming.
The Bellerophon is equipped with a wide range of electronic and personnel defense options making it a very hardened and formidable target for boarders and slicers.
