Daro eyed it critically.

Too shiny.

That was the first thing he saw and almost made him shake his head- of course that wasn't Hazel's fault, the thing was brand-new after all. But it would have to be fixed as soon as possible. One thing that people were almost as leery about as external modifications? A ship that was all shiny, bright and chrome. It almost always attracted the worst kind of attraction.

Pirates, reavers... tax collectors.

None of it good.

"We will scratch up da hull fast, dontcha worry, luv." Daro murmured as it landed before them. "By the time I am done it will look like a proper rust bucket flying through space, scout's honor."

..N..O..N..L..E..T..H..A..L..
The woman chuckled.

Sure, she could appreciate shiny, but the man was right. Couldn't be running through the galaxy with new plates. Certainly no one had tried to steal the Egris from her except for when she had precious cargo aboard. Even then, Preacher's accomplices had made it quite clear that no one in their right mind would want the ship otherwise.

She'd been mildly offended by the statement.

"Oh, well shet, I guess it won't stay shiny forever."

"Noh, they don' tend ta stay shiny," another voice joined them, sounding from a gangly looking gentleman as he descended a loading ramp, " 'ere she is, as prom'sed, Scheler."

"Why is it always a she..." Hazel pondered out loud, crossing her arms at her chest, "thanks Kep. Do you need a ride back to... wherever?"

"Got me wings onna way, fanks," the man walked over, presenting an appearance that gave Tarsi's grodey self some competition. He smiled crookedly, yellow teeth showing, and handed a datachip over to the Mercenary, "nex job on board 'lready, fig're yeh wonna waste time."

"Well it might be a week or two..." she glanced over at Tarsi, "need to make a few modifications."

Not speaking about the huge tariffs put on ya if the Outer Rimmers thought you had money.

Just one of the things.

The newcomer just got a nod from Daro, but in truth he had dismissed both of them once the ship had settled down. So it wouldn't surprise them that the old man pushed past them both and approached the ship. Taking his time with it, turning here and fro, ticking the hull with his knuckles at certain points. It wasn't immediately obvious what he was ticking for though.

"He, she, it, is in a solid state." Daro called out over his shoulder towards the other two. "But yeah, two abouts to make this a bit more... lived in."

A shrug.

"Could do it in less, but it will cost ya."

If the lady needed to go? Well, he wouldn't not take a chance of earning some extra cash.
