The red planet lay before them. An endless desert of seamless caves and ores. Erebus; silent. Zambrano; silent. One stood ahead of the other, more mechanical in his heart than the other. His dark energy endlessly streamed from his body like a spilt over drink. Sinking deep into the fabric of the force, his heartless eyes beckoned forth the dark side. His mind in eternal eclipse. His dark demeanour caused the spine of others to revolt in disgust. However, not many could withstand the foul and sometimes even sexual demands of the emperor. Especially the women, Kaine stood ahead of Erebus. Keeping him behind him was always best, especially in his current state.

Erebus wasn't the large metallic monster you'd imagine him to be. He had yet to receive his armour plating. The exoskeleton lay bare and open. His organs and the metallic ribs that contained the tubes were open to display. Showing the confidence of the Emperor that no one would dare attack Erebus whilst the two were together. It was more of a message than anything. Erebus remained silent, hulking over his master. His long thin neck reached up and past Kaine, one delicate red beaming eye gave him vision. For, his eyes were. Well, somewhere in a trash compactor he'd imagine. Not that he'd imagine very often. Erebus' mind was locked away in a cell only the darkest of sith held the key to. His emplacement in battle was long overdue, however the Emperor had been training him to kill jedi. Kaine of course was his only Master; but he had other trainers. For example, a sith woman who had been ordered to torture his mind to submission over and over again until it was a broken and shattered shell of its former self. She had worn a long robe covering her details, but he saw green luminous hands. Female, no wonder some of his more primal parts remained intact. However, these thoughts were quickly banished from his mind as the pair slowly descended a hill to a cavern. Erebus was here to inspire fear in the workers here, as his Master had explained. They were to take the phrikite and use it for him armour plating, then he would be ready for battle.

Erebus had long awaited the order to go into battle; and would gladly kill thousands and die in the name of his Emperor. Kaine; he held the long enduring mind of Erebus in his grasp, his mind was a blank unforgiving chasm of death and suffering; and that's exactly how he liked it.

Not all those enslaved by the Imperial war-machine were put to the sword in droves, or experimented on by the Emperor and his vile acolytes. Many were put to work in the multitude of mine installations across the Empire, one of them being the very valuable mines of Gromas 16, which contained an abundance of phrikite ore. The slaves, mainly Togorians, were working tirelessly in the labyrinth of mine shafts that crisscrossed through the moon's surface, all while helmeted Blackblade Overseers made sure the slaves continued to work day and night. No slave was permitted a break during their work shifts, unless they collapses from exhaustion. Then they were beaten horribly by the Overseers, and replaced by another slave to make sure they reached the quota.

Today the slaves were working harder than ever, and for a perfectly good reason. The Emperor himself had come to oversee a day's work of mining, along with his never before seen cybernetic monstrosity that trailed behind him like an obedient Kath Hound. They were here to take a percentage of the day's workload to use in the metal exoskeleton that will cover Erebus' vital organs and sensitive cybernetics from all forms of attacks, including lightsabers. Kaine turned to Erebus and gestured to the slaves working down below in the quarry, "Magnificent isn't it? These savages had no true purpose before I came along, and now look at them. I've given them steady careers."

"Regardless, to look upon the weak is a waste of time; they are beneath our notice." He explained, not taking a moment to look at the slaves. The crimsons beams of light that were his eyes diverted to the mines ahead. Within a few heavy strides and the crunch of metal, Erebus stood at the entrance of the mines. Awaiting his master to join him, he stood silent and motionless, his cape's swishing in the air. Two crimson eyes beamed down at the mines below. The togruta slaves stood almost motionless as the creature loomed over them. Erebus merely clenched a large fist in response; signalling for a beating unless they continued working. Erebus then returned his full focus to the mines ahead. Awaiting any sort of response from his Master.

"That may be, but it never hurts to remind them whom they serve. The stern gaze of their master is enough to compel them into working twice as hard, for it is that fear of retribution from something more powerful than they that sparks their innate survival instinct. Even if that instinct means working harder and faster in their exhausted state." To emphasize his point, he cast his dark gaze upon a group of workers who had momentarily stopped to gape in awe and fear at the passing Emperor and his cybernetic bodyguard, but they quickly returned to their labor with a fiendish flurry after they realized the Emperor was looking directly at them. Kaine smiled darkly as they returned to work, and continued after his cyborg servant once he had reached the threshold into the central mining facility where a massive central spire rose up to graze the sky. It was from that spire where the Overseers monitored all of the slaves working tirelessly in the labyrinth of mine shafts below them.

Below the central spire was a massive foundry, where the phrikite ore was delivered and processed into refined ingots, and then shipped off to other worlds to be made into armor and weapons for the elite Sith and their warriors. It was here where Kaine and Erebus would find the molding pieces to use in Erebus' armored exoskeleton.

Erebus did not reply, there was no logical reason why. However; his mind was fixated on the foundry deep beneath the crust of the planet. According to Kaine, the Phrike plates they needed would be ready by the time they arrived on the lower levels. However, if it wasn't their would be hell to pay for the workers. The visible beating heart that was in amongst the tubes and tech that was Erebus' currently unarmoured chest caused many of the overseers and workers to falter and fumble at the sight of it. Yes; even hardened workers of the sith like the Overseers were disgusted and some petrified by the unearthly view of the heart beating steadily. However, when Kaine moved passed them, they seemed to return to their original working speeds, some even doubling it.

As the pair, the body-guard and Kaine made their way down the long narrow hall ways of the mine. It got hotter, and hotter. However, for anyone else with little discipline this would cause somewhat putrid amounts of sweat to form. The lower levels of the working area's were swamped in sweat and dribble, and blood at some points. If there was anything Erebus noticed, it was the fingers. Cut and bruised with the skin ripped at the nail; on all of them it was the same. Little chips of rock and ore were digging into their hands, ripping away at their skin. The pain; oh the glorious pain they felt. Erebus wished he could feel it, if anything he wished he could feel something. But, wishing. Wasn't that something?

These thoughts were swept from his mind as Kaine and Erebus were reaching their predestined courses end. "Is it in here?" The machine asked, turning its large long neck towards Kaine, however. Its eyes never lifted from its surroundings; he was always on guard.

"This is where the ore is refined into ingots to be molded into armor and weapons for the Imperial War-machine's more confidential projects. You happen to be one of those projects, Erebus, a new form of cybernetic supersoldier with enhanced reflexes, strength, and dexterity to hunt down enemies of the state, namely Jedi. However; to fight Jedi, you need added protection, hence why we have come to Gromas 16 in the first place." Exposition everywhere, all over the place, but it always served a purpose. All around them organic workers worked frantically at their stations, while droids specifically built to handle this kind of heated work wheeled around, making the foundry a hive of constant activity and noise. None of that bothered Kaine in the slightest, and he hadn't even broken a sweat since they delved into the foundry.

Erebus listened to his master, and surprisingly he was able to move around in this heat without breaking a sweat. However, this didn't keep Erebus' attention for long as the door leading to the room that was supposed to store his armour opened; revealing the platings as they had expected. Walking forward, Erebus took in the room; machines were everywhere. Some of them over a stand; more than likely a part of what Erebus would need to do to attain said plates. Looking at them; they seemed ready to be used. However Erebus would await his masters orders. However he was sure the operation wike take a few hours.

After Kaine crossed the threshold into the chamber, the doors behind them closed soundlessly. "Good, the plates were completed before we arrived. I will summon the engineers, and then we will begin the process of grafting the plates of phrik onto you. This process will take quite a bit of time, but we have all the time we need." Once finished, Kaine pressed a button on the holocommunicator on his wrist, and after a few minutes the door leading to the chamber opened up to reveal a gaggle of servants covered from head to toe in leather clothes and grime. In hushed tones they conversed among one another, no doubt speaking fanatically about the operation they were about to undertake for the Emperor and his servant. They quickly crowded around a large metal slab, and beckoned Erebus to lay down upon it.

Erebus silently moved to the metal slab, and cautiously lay down on the slab. The full extent of his body was about 14 foot long, standing at 4.3 metres tall. Just above his calv extended past the slab. As it sat down, things began to move. Machines began to operate as it removed temporary pieces of Life Support systems that were soon to be replaced by the extensive machinery that was under the plates of durasteel that were placed, and then. The phrik plates followed insuite, however during the procedure. One of the servants had almost punctured one of the four existent lungs. It would pay for its insolence. The procedure spread out over the time of a few hours; and it was just as long as it had felt, possibly even longer.

When the procedure was complete. He looked different, he was bigger and bulkier. The four arms connected into two now. Which could be changed at a moments notice. All of his body was either shielded by durasteel or for serious injuries. By phrik, but as soon as the restraints were released, two red beams lit in the mask of the creature; and one of its arms shot up into the neck of the servant who had nearly killed him. His massive robotic hand devoured his face, and as the hand clenched. Blood exploded violently, and as the body fell limp and the servants around them backed away. Erebus threw the body aside, it was done with half measures. He had killed plenty before; but not without his Masters permission. However, that was a moment of anger. Yes; ANGER. Something the creature had never truly felt before, it was good. So very good.

Kaine smirked darkly as Erebus lashed out at one of the more clumsy engineers, and crushed his skull with a satisfying explosion of gore. "Excellent, Erebus. The operation was a complete success... We had taken inspiration from an ancient war-droid designated as Grievous, which commanded the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars over eight hundred years ago. Legends said he was a notorious Jedi Killer, and that's what you will become. My own personal Jedi Slayer, who will strike fear into the hearts of Jedi everywhere! You will be their bane, and together we will destroy them once and for all."

Red eyes crossed the engineers to Kaine. It was aware of him enthusiasm. Erebus had studied its concept. However, rising from the slab to his full height. He towered over Kaine, but his eyes lingered on Kaine. He didn't speak; however he didn't feel the need to. Kaine spoke enough for both of them. However, that was not a bad thing. Erebus preferred not having to talk often. It put less strain on his lungs. He simply stood, over looking Kaine and then the engineers. "I am at your disposal my master." He commented finally.

"I know you are, Erebus. But now we will have to test you now that you have your augmentations, luckily enough I had sent four of my Praetorian Guard here to test you once the operation was complete. Now, come." Kaine said as he turned on his heels and began to walk towards the entryway to the other sections of the foundry, taking an alternate path away from the way they came in. The path would wind further into the foundry until they reached a circular crucible seemingly in the heart of the entire facility, which would rise upward multiple stories to reveal other sections of the foundry. The sound of pounding and whirring would dominate the chamber, but that didn't seem to bother Kaine or the four Praetorian Guard that stood rigid as statues in the center of the room.

Once Erebus had entered the chamber, Kaine would point to the Praetorian and say, "This is your chance to prove yourself, Erebus." A bundle of lightsabers emerged from Kaine's cloak to float before Erebus, and at the same time the Praetorians would ignite their saberpikes. "Kill them."

Kaine apparently had a test for him. He found no reason to speak however, he followed Kaine obediently. This route lead them to a circular crucible. An arena, was the first thing it reminded Erebus of. However, upon hearing Kaine's order and the ignition of the saber spikes of the Praetorian Guards weapons, four sabers elevated from Kaines belt and found their way to Erebus, detaching the four arms from each other. He took hold of the blades in all four of his hands his eyes following as beams of crimson extended from the hilt, however as the blades reached their full lengths. His eyes diverted to the Praetorian Guards, his whole lower body turning, and then his upper body followed and then followed his arms, ever joint in his body was double jointed and gave him the ability to spin all of them in 360 degrees. Including his upper chassis that was detached from his lower body through multiple joints. Wit the Praetorian Guards now on different levels of the circular arena and in adjacent positions. Erebus charged the closest to him, his blades low ready to leap up into an attack as he pressed forward.

The Praetorians all engage Erebus, their saber staffs spinning rapidly as they lunged to clash their with his. They had been trained to kill Jedi, just as Erebus has, but with Erebus' new modifications they would find him more than just any old challenge. One of the Praetorian's blades managed to slip past Erebus' defenses and strike at his torso, but the blade was stopped dead in it's tracks by the Phrik plating. It left himself open to immediate retaliation by Erebus, while the others backed away to formulate a new strategy.

Erebus did not attack with any of his sabers, one mechanical leg launched up, its animal like feet gripped the breastplate of the Praetorians armour. Slamming the Praetorian into the ground, his entire body other than his leg spun 360 degrees. Then with the added momentum, he pulled the now pinned Praetorians body from the ground with his foot, his leg twisted and flung the body of the Praetorian at the still standing guards and with that he began to spin his lower left arm and upper right arm in a rapid 360 movement, he launched forward towards one of the Praetorians who had been focused on diverting the flinged body, his non spinning blades arcing down in a stabbing motion. His red beaming eyes were followed loosely by a fluorescent blur, like a demon.

The Praetorians were no match for the armored assassin, and quickly fell under the fury of his blades. Their torn and destroyed bodies littered the ground, each one sporting a multitude of lightsaber wounds all over. Kaine began to clap slowly as he approached Erebus, "Well done, well done, Erebus. You have performed beyond my expectations, and you are truly deserving of the gift I have given you. You will serve me well in the future, and my enemies will fall before your unbridled onslaught."

Erebus' unhealthy stare sat upon his Master, the creature merely nodded in reply. "As you wish." It replied, his blades had sunk deep into that of the mortal flesh of his enemies. "These ones fell easily." He said in a barely disappointed tone, his voice was but static, a hiss from the depths of darkness that was his soul. His arms folded unconditionally across his chest. The sabers now at his side, his eyes lingered on his Master.
Although he understood it was time he was set out upon the world.

"They fell because you were strong, Erebus. A true executor of my wrath... Let us leave this world, and return to the Palace. I have many missions for you to undertake in the future, but the onset of this war draws my attention. Come now, we must make haste." Kaine would lead his personal assassin out of the foundry, and back to their shuttle to leave Gromas 16 behind forever.

((Sorry for the short post, but we need to wrap this up. It's outdated by current events xD
