Achilleon arrived at the small hamlet in the late afternoon, the sun setting beyond the forested hills of the Thaloryn Basin. These hills, plains and valleys were renowned for mild climate, shimmering lakes and the wind caressing the trees among gentle hilltops. There were no ancient woods nearby and beast attacks were rare, the rural area usually meant that the people were devoted to their work more than to politics and scheming, so the increasing reports of dead woodsman, hunters and farmers were a concern, passed on to the Knightly Orders.

The son of House Utraen responded due to being in the region and travelled here from the capital on the back of his Demigryph. He had left behind his Lance, letting them enjoy the regional spire for a few days while he hunted down whatever happened to harass these people. Fully expecting it to be a pack of Draevak, a group of Mhyrroks or flock of Vraek that somehow got disturbed, infected or some other natural cause that disturbed the local balance.

But when he arrived and talked to the Elder and was led to the local undertaker where the recovered dead were prepared before sent to the afterlife, Achilleon understood that there was fouler work at play here. Neither of these people were killed by a beast. Even for the experienced eyes of a hunter it would seem like classic rippings with fangs and beaks, but they were not knowing the abilities of man to inflict damage. This was done by no beast.

Immediately the Knight passed on the message that there was murder happening, called his Lance and informed the authorities to prepare for an investigation. A manhunt. The worst beast of them all needed to tracked down.
