Public Be Like Water (Jedi)

And a touch of the blues
leon-tukker-atomhawksolarpunk-leontukker-3.jpg
The raid took the world by surprise. It took the Enclave and the Tidehome by surprise. Luckily, the Jedi were here, and so were others. The explorers of Kattada banded together to fly against the foes who came in. Vodet and Jend-Ro worked together inside the Temple, however there were so many attacks that hit the buildings.

After the raid was over, and the remaining people came up for air? They started getting the loader droids moving stone and metal. Slag went in one pile, salvage in a second, and what could be reused in a third. Temple guards stepped outside to help within the village to guard shops, while some witches cast spells to protect the temple.

The next morning, more ships came in, landed, and started to unload their goods. Some knew what happened, some that didn’t. But Vodet greeted them as they came, offering jobs on the world. Some people were going to be setting up triage, out of older starships, and the wreckage of the medical area, others were working to rebuild the Enclave itself. The frame was there, but walls and windows needed to be replaced, vaults needed to be calculated and equipment restored. And even still, there were people who were having a hard time, and needed to be coached back that things were going to be okay.

Down in Tidehome, it was the same, but the shopkeepers who could, were out offering their wares as steep discounts, pretty much just for materials used, and Vodet could smell a few meals being cooked this morning, lunch was going to be something grilled, fish, vegetables… Smelled so good. But there was work to be done first.

Time to start rebuilding Kattada. The Temple took damage, so did the village of Tidehome. Or perhaps you’re more here to boost the morale?

It’s just tequila and the beach
The damned Jedi didn’t know how to enjoy themselves. The witches noticed they set up places for physical rest, sleeping, eating, sure. But they weren’t doing anything to actually get their mind off of it all. Tidehome was still mostly intact, a few shops raided, some of the more important structures with a lot of stress from the attack, but the local environment? It was still very happy.

Through their songs, and spells, witches were slowly rebuilding the less complex structures, and setting up a place for true R&R on the beaches. Some of the boats were needing repair, but there were swim platforms, the reef was intact, so there were diving opportunities, but there was also a number of physical activities ranging from volleyball to others playing catch. Jedi, Witches, and the non-Force using explorers and locals all coming together to reconnect despite the carnage.

That was what living was all about, after all.

Brooke smiled, even though she had been helping with the Enclave the night before but was using the morning to catch a breather, a cocktail, and some sun. She stepped into the water, up to her ankles, and sang a song of hope, one to help inspire those that were reeling harder than the rest. Other witches were singing songs, some just for the joy of it, others to provide a sense of harmony and healing to the gathered.

Providing assistance to the village and the Enclave, but not the manual labor was what her group was all about. Making the day fun, but also getting work done.

While Jared Starchaser was making his way out to the beach to where the Blue Coral Divers were singing their songs and the volleyball matches were starting, the Jedi Seeker looked up. The Oasis, a large winged MC65 Mon Calamari Cruiser was in low orbit, the Corellian corvettes were in close orbit to keep anything at bay and were running a check on most ships coming through the system.

Honestly, it was Kattada, so most were only coming here for leisure time or as a result of the Enclave and ExplorCorps HQ being held at this planet. Others were coming with aid. Checking in at the Oasis they were being escorted down by a set of E-Wings or V-Wing airspeeders to drop off goods, supplies, and bodies. The operation seemed to be co-lead by Jedi Master Vodet Vodet but as Jared, shirtless and recovered from his bacta stint the night before, made his way onto the sand, he saw the very familiar YT-2000 and Seeker-class ships of his father and sister.

Seemed the Tide of Light had arrived.

Now, where were volleyball sign ups?

She stood amidst the waves in the shallows, Reina's gaze set out ahead of herself. She had not been here to protect the planet. It had partly been her own choice. Reina hadn't been stable enough in her emotions to risk losing herself in a fight, but that didn't mean she wasn't ashamed at what she had done. There was no time for her to focus on that however. She had to help the people of this planet as Reina went back to starting to help the village, simply by fishing. It was far easy to catch fish when you were below the waves swimming with them.

The water rushed past Reina as she dashed her way beneath the waves, using her transformation less as a curse and more of a gift. Something that she could use to help the people as she lashed out with her claws to collect fish. Of course, it was basically a simple trip out and back as she'd grab as many fish as she could hold, before returning the nearby dock to deliver them to whoever was willing to take them off before she'd go back under the waves. Rinse and repeat as many times as she could.

It was only after a dozen or so trips that Reina decided to take a break, popping herself up out of the water so she could rest her arms and head atop the dock and watch the people having fun amidst the beach. They had deserved the time off, they had been here to help Kattada. But in Reina's eyes? She still had plenty of work herself she had to do before she could relax.

Water, sand... it was like Ahch-To in ways but not as well. The attack had been something and so he had been sent. With supplies on his ship but also to observe and report. The gates of Omean were closed for now and the others kept within it in case they were needed. He remained there in the sand allowing his senses to go outwards and cover the beach. Therre was something... or someone... it was visible in the force in the water. Others he knew but rarely met werre there as he found a place to stand. The wind bringing more scents to him His arms went over his chest while he remained there just leaning against a tree.

Most of the enclave's reconstruction was progressing smoothly, but the witches had taken to pestering the Jedi to set their tools aside and enjoy the beach. Kat knew the type well, soldiers, warriors, Jedi alike, most of them grew restless in idleness, uncertain of what to do with themselves when the fight paused. She wasn't much different.

So instead of lounging, she'd laced up for a workout. The sand gave her legs a burn with every stride, the breeze was crisp and salt-laden, and the waves stretched glittering under the afternoon sun. As far as places to clear her head, this one was hard to beat.

She had tied her long, two-toned hair back and thrown on a simple set of casual clothes. Nothing elegant, just enough to move in. The plan was straightforward: run along the waterline until the need for rest caught up with her, then dive into the surf and maybe wander for seashells. For once, the afternoon promised to be if not restful at least uncomplicated.

The sun was warm against her skin, and for once, Valery allowed herself to just enjoy it. She lay stretched out on her towel, dark hair tied back, her body glistening faintly from the salt air and the ocean breeze. So much of her time lately had been consumed by preparation. Operation Reckoning was already moving into place, ready to strike at the Sith's spice mine in retaliation for what had been done here. But even she knew she couldn't run on empty forever. A stolen hour beneath the waves and now some peace and quiet on the sand was enough to keep her sharp for what was coming.

Overhead, the skies of Kattada buzzed with activity. Freighters and Hidden Path ships descended to the surface, offloading supplies to help with the reconstruction efforts.

Watching it all filled Valery with a sense of pride. This network she had fought so hard to weave together was moving now, supporting those who needed it most. Rebuilding had already begun, and her allies were proving just how much of a difference they could make.

She shifted slightly, propping herself up on one arm as her gaze swept the beach. That was when she caught sight of Jared, moving across the sand toward the commotion near the divers and volleyball games. A small smile curved her lips, and she lifted a hand in greeting, orange eyes catching the sunlight as she offered him a wave from her place on the towel.

Quiet and rest had never come easy to him. His body was too used to motion, his instincts too wired for danger. But in the last few months, he'd begun to understand there was a difference between lowering his guard and letting himself breathe. Even now, with the faint itch in his nerves whispering that something was wrong, he forced himself not to listen. For once, there was no fight waiting in the wings... just the crash of surf, the hiss of salt wind, and voices carrying laughter across the sand.
Tic had darted off the moment they hit the beach, chasing the sound of a ball thumping against palms and the rise of singing voices farther downshore. Ace let him go. He stayed behind, sitting in the sand with his arms resting across his knees.
The raid wasn't far behind him. Smoke and fire still burned sharp in his memory, Darth Hydra Darth Hydra 's twin blades striking like a storm meant to break him and Aris Noble Aris Noble open. He could almost still feel the weight of each clash reverberating up his arms. The thrill of it still lingered. He'd faced a Sith Lord head-on, matched him, and walked away alive. The pride in that truth unsettled him almost as much as the fight itself. Was it arrogance, or proof he was becoming something stronger? He didn't know yet.
He exhaled, pressing his palm into the sand. It struck him then, he'd never set foot on a real beach before. This, sunlight, clear water, clean sand? It was foreign. Alien. Stranger, even, than crossing blades with Hydra.
Ace flexed his hand once more against the sand, brows drawn low, trying to reconcile the comfort in something so simple. Around him, laughter rose with the wind: witches singing, a ball sailing into the air, footsteps drumming up the shoreline. And for the first time in a long time, he sat still and let himself listen.
His gaze drifted across the shore, more out of habit than curiosity. Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser was already angling toward the volleyball net where laughter carried loudest, while Valery Noble Valery Noble stretched on a towel nearby, sharp even at rest. At the dock, Reina Daival Reina Daival surfaced from another dive, more focused on her work than the play around her, and closer to the tide Brooke Waters Brooke Waters 's voice rose in song, her smile pulling others into its rhythm. Katarine Ryiah Katarine Ryiah cut a steady line along the water's edge, and farther back in the shade a lone figure stood with arms crossed, content to only watch.

Aiden Porte set down the crate he had been hauling from the shuttle's ramp. Sweat traced lines down his temple, but he ignored it, adjusting his grip and lifting another load without hesitation. Around him, the crash and scrape of stone being moved rang out like a strange music of recovery.

He had been a Jedi of the Order long enough to know that heroics didn't always come in the form of a duel. Today it meant ferrying bundles of plasteel beams to the new scaffolding, helping hoist repurposed transparisteel windows into their frames, and kneeling beside exhausted villagers to share a steadying word. "Careful with that edge," he said gently, intercepting a pair of teenagers straining to drag a sheet of plating. He placed his hands beneath theirs, adding his strength to theirs until the slab slid neatly into the salvage pile. Both youths glanced up at him, surprised to find a Jedi's calloused hands so like their own.

When one of the loaders sputtered, Aiden crouched beside it, brow furrowed, coaxing the machine's armature back into motion with a mix of technical instinct and a subtle nudge through the Force. Cheers rose as the droid whirred back to life, its servo lifting stone after stone with renewed vigor. The aroma of grilled fish and seasoned vegetables drifted up from Tidehome's square. Aiden paused at the edge of the scaffolding, hands braced on his hips as he surveyed the patchwork progress, walls rising again where only rubble had been, laughter beginning to edge out the silence of grief.

He smiled faintly. The galaxy might expect him to be a warrior, but here, among sweat-stained laborers and hopeful children, he was reminded of the deeper truth: a Jedi was not only a protector, but a builder. He rolled his shoulders, lifted another crate, and went back to work.

That sounds familiar. We weren’t there for five minutes and BRED was already complaining. Complaining about the sun, complaining about the waves, complaining about the sand.

“Weeep-bwoo.” [Translation: I thought that we were here to help rebuild?]

He wasn’t wrong. I wanted to get to work and hook up systems, but Thexann said “nope” and that he would tell my mother if I was arguing. I can’t believe it. I’m 18 (mostly) and he’s threatening to tell my mommy!

“Chrrp.” [Translation: You’re the one who let it get to you.]

My astromech droid, ever the supportive optimist. What he doesn’t get is, while he’s complaining, he’s getting more and more resilient to the weather and environment. That’ll help later in life. Right? I sounded very tactical there.

“Weeep-beep.” [Translation: I’ll tell you what you sounded like…]

No thanks. I’d rather go on a run.

“Beeep-bwoo.” [Translation: I’ll let you discover who is in your path… just for the fun of it.]

And a touch of the blues
There were so many of the forces that remained on Kattada. That was a good sign. People weren’t afraid of being here. And the groups that were around probably helped a lot for that. The weather too. Vodet looked over at the beach, several of the warriors that came to the defense of the Enclave and area nearby were still there. They earned their leave. That was true. Some of the explorers that called Kattada home were the ones who made their way back here, and were providing assistance. There were Witches singing songs to repair the chaos, the chaos that could just be put back.

Waving several of the younglings and Padawans, he was giving direction on where to bring some of the goods. Kyber was still not as plentiful, but they were setting up the stash again. Some of the vaults were repaired and fallen holocrons were being placed back.

Seeing the Jedi, Aiden Porte Aiden Porte here made Vodet feel warm. Offering a gentle slap on the back, the Yinchorri nodded. “Welcome and thank you.” At that point a Selkath Padawan, a runner, came by with data from one of the ships.

“Seems we’re getting a tech overhaul.”

Vodet nodded. “Master Starchaser recommended it.”

There was still a limp to his step. He managed to handle a bit of work around the medbay between stints in the bacta tank. That damned cyborg was good. And maybe he really should carry some coconuts around to hurl at other foes. Not right now though. The Jedi Seeker managed to make it towards the volleyball court without too many winces.

Jedi and their friends were all over. He saw Katarine running and offered a small head nod. But then he turned to Valery, almost stumbling on a pile of sand. Or the sun in his eyes reflecting off the Oasis. One or the other could really be true. But he knew what it was.

“You doing alright?”
He called over to the former Grandmaster. She had a rough fight in her too. And knew that she had more planned ahead.

H27p6ho.png
Valery's lips curved into a knowing smirk the moment she caught him nearly stumble. The soft chuckle that followed made it clear she knew exactly what had distracted him, though she chose not to call him out directly.

"I'm doing alright," she answered warmly, lifting a hand to brush back a damp strand of hair that the ocean breeze had tugged loose. "Just taking a little time to rest after everything, and to clear my head before the next fight." Her gaze lingered on him then, the smile softening as she caught the faint limp in his step.

Tilting her head slightly, she pushed herself up a little straighter on the towel. "How about you?" she asked, orange eyes steady on him. "You look a little roughened up. How are you holding up?"

Pelie was helping with reconstruction efforts she felt bad she couldn't help as she was recovering from the rescue mission to rescue makko. She was well enough to help rebuild and that is what she was doing as she lifted supports in place using the force helping rebuild as she still had a leg and arm that where not at a hundred percent yet. Moving the supports into place that they would become load bearing and stable she nodded to some citizens and aide workers who came to help as she walked over to Aiden. "You've been here helping since before I got here no one would fault you for taking a short break" she offered as she smelt the fish being cooked and could sense it being cooked from where they where as she handed him a cold bottle of water.

"It's horrible that this happened all this death and destruction for a few baubles and artifacts" she said sincerely walking beside him. Why did it have to happen the answer was it didn't but the sith where greedy and power hungry and craved battle. As she walked besides aiden "my name is pelie by the way" she offered as she stayed.

Phobos sat by herself on a small, lonely peer.

Why she came here is pretty simple. As a healer, Phobos came to provide her talents so that the injured could recover. To that end she performed her services, even as she was self-conscious about how she may be received by others. Now, in the present, she found herself drawn back to the one thing that always seemed to call out to her: The edge of the water.

She sat with her knees to her chest, her arms wrapped around herself as her radiant green eyes looked out over the ocean of Kattada longingly. Phobos knew what would happen if she went into the water. The flame atop her head would extinguish, and for a period of time she would be severed from the Force. It left her vulnerable, incapable of healing her body composed of ash to leave the crystal that was her heart exposed. To enter would be the equivalent of baring her vulnerable flank to a carnivore of some sort.

And yet she wanted with every fiber of her being to be in it. Feel the sensation of the water against her skin. It was as though she was being deprived of something. Some instinctual part of her being forced to be denied. Even as she desired it so, Phobos could only watch.

It was pretty to look at, at least...

More and more and more complaining. Boy this is fun, and yes, I am being very facetious, even a little sarcastic.

“Weeep-bwoo.” [Translation: Please tell me you weren’t being ironic when you said that.]

Not as dumb as I look there buddy. Anyway I figured he could use a reprieve… mostly… we were near a pier when I saw THE CRAZIEST HAIR! This girl was sitting there by herself looking like she could use a friend.

“Chrrp.” [Translation: Look at you, being social… are you sick?]

Ha. Ha. Moving over to the pier was easy enough, but the sun off this water was bright.

“Weeep-beep.” [Translation: I’m staying right here. You want to talk to her, YOU go out there…]

Okay, so I did.

“Beeep-bwoo.” [Translation: If I knew it would be that easy, I would have done this long ago..]

Phobos glanced over her shoulder and took note of the approaching young man before her gaze settled back out on the sea.

"I think I've met a lot of people who seem like they need a friend these past few days," she stated, her tone more composed than her posture would suggest. "I appreciate the gesture, but I am not struggling with loneliness at the current moment. I was just a little lost in thought."

Phobos stood and meticulously brushed off her plain white dress, running a hand through the fire on her head. It was, in fact, fire. Her fingers, notably four digits rather than five, sailed right through and never caught a strand of hair.

"Did you require this peer for sometning?" Phobos asked, "Apologies if so. I just found it to be a nice place to sit. I never checked to see who's it was admittedly."
