BASILISK-TYPE WAR DROID
"Fall from the sky. Rise in the wreckage."

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION:PRODUCTION INFORMATIONTECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSSPECIAL FEATURES
  • MYTHOSAUR SOUND EMITTER: Each Basilisk-type War Droid is equipped with a Mythosaur Sound Emitter, a cultural feature that unleashes thunderous roars modeled after the legendary Mythosaur. As these droids charge into battle, their emitters fill the field with the primal cries of Mandalore’s mythic beast, striking fear into enemies and rallying allies with the sound of ancient power reborn.
STRENGTHS
  • OVERWHELMING FIREPOWER: Outfitted with a full suite of heavy weaponry, the Basilisk-type War Droid is a mobile weapons platform capable of leveling fortifications, crippling vehicles, and clearing infantry formations with ease. It boasts a shockwave generator cluster, pulse-wave and disruptor autocannons, and ventral deck cannon—among others—ensuring that no target is beyond its reach. Its shatter-missile tubes carry a variety of specialized payloads, including defoliator and carbonite rounds, allowing the Basilisk to adapt its devastation to nearly any battlefield condition.
    .
  • COMPOSITE WARPLATE: Forged from a layered composite of Beskar, Mandalorian Steel, Laminanium, and Agrinium, the Basilisk's hull is a masterclass in battlefield engineering. Its outer beskar plating deflects lightsaber strikes and direct fire, while the self-healing laminanium sublayer protects vulnerable joints. Internal agrinium shielding guards against radiation and EMP attacks, and Mandalorian steel forms a dense, resilient frame. Paired with starfighter-grade deflectors, disruptors, and countermeasures, the Basilisk is built to withstand both sustained assault and targeted strikes.
WEAKNESSES
  • LIMITED CARGO & SUPPORT CAPACITY: Designed purely for war, the Basilisk-type has no room for troop transport, medical systems, or extended utility. It cannot carry passengers or meaningful cargo, and any extended mission requiring supply logistics, repairs, or battlefield coordination must rely on external support. It is a hammer, not a multitool—effective in combat, but reliant on others for broader operational versatility.
    .
  • HIGH SENSOR PROFILE: With its mass, sound emitter, and active weapon systems, the Basilisk-type is virtually impossible to conceal. Its roar, emissions, and heat signature ensure it is always a high-priority target, easily identified by both organic and sensor-based detection systems. While its defenses are strong, stealth or subtlety are not in its design vocabulary—and in prolonged engagements, this can make it a beacon for coordinated enemy strikes.
DESCRIPTION

The Basilisk-type War Droid marks a return to Mandalore's most iconic tradition: the sky-darkening silhouette of warriors mounted atop beasts of war. Designed for use by all Mandalorians within the Empire, this updated model honors the legacy of the Crusader era while embracing the demands of modern warfare. It is not simply a vehicle—it is a symbol, a bond between warrior and machine, a weapon of myth reborn to serve a new generation. Whether deployed solo or en masse, the Basilisk is a harbinger of fire and fury, restoring the thunder of the old ways to battlefields across the stars.

A fusion of brutal engineering and Mandalorian ingenuity, the Basilisk-type is outfitted with a devastating armament suite. From the prow-mounted shockwave generator cluster to disruptor and ripper autocannons, every weapon is selected to punish targets ranging from entrenched infantry to armored walkers. Pulse-wave cannons blast enemies at mid-range, while rear-facing laser cannons deter aerial pursuit. Its ventral deck cannon delivers concentrated devastation, and recessed shatter-missile tubes allow for specialized payloads—from ion bombs to carbonite warheads. Every angle of the droid bristles with firepower, allowing it to engage in total war without pause.

Defensively, the Basilisk is no less impressive. A composite warplate of Beskar, Mandalorian Steel, Laminanium, and Agrinium ensures layered protection against every conceivable threat. While the beskar plating absorbs direct fire and lightsaber strikes, the subdermal laminanium repairs minor battlefield damage, and agrinium linings mitigate EMP and radiation. Starfighter-grade deflector shields and field disruptors create a powerful defensive envelope, while flare, chaff, and ECM systems foil targeting attempts. Its maneuverability, powered by repulsorlift, ion engine, and quadrupedal locomotion, ensures the Basilisk-type can operate in nearly any terrain—on the ground, in the air, or from orbit.

But even legends have limits. The Basilisk-type lacks the capacity for cargo, passengers, or long-term utility—it is a war mount and nothing more. Its high sensor and audio profile also make stealth impossible; the Mythosaur's roar, its heat signature, and visible emissions turn it into a lightning rod on the battlefield. Still, for what it is built to do—shock assaults, frontline devastation, and absolute dominance—few machines match its ferocity or resilience.

The Basilisk-type is more than a droid. It is a statement. A symbol of Mandalorian resolve, reborn in fire and steel. Its Mythosaur Sound Emitter unleashes an ancient cry across the battlefield, echoing the strength of the past and the fury of the present. When it falls from the sky, it brings war. And when it rises in the wreckage, it does so as the wrath of Mandalore made manifest.
