DESCRIPTION

The Barrage-type Turbo Tank was designed as a mobile command operations center and redoubtable troop transport for ground-based campaigns. With its large frame and treaded means of locomotion, the Barrage was unlike any other vehicle in the Sith Empire's vast arsenal. Typically reserved as the nerve-center for commanders of the Imperial Legion, the Barrage has seen very reserved combat experience in the Empire's many campaigns. However, with war encroaching ever closer on the Imperial heartland, the need for such highly defensible headquarters has increased drastically.

Rounding out the Barrage's arsenal was a heavy barbette repeating cannon, two medium twin barbette repeating cannons, four heavy barbette rotary cannons, two ordnance launchers, one heavy composite beam turret, ten automated barbette antimissile octets, and two fore and aft pressor field generators. All of these combined made the Barrage a highly defensible vehicle, capable of defending itself from multiple attacks and from attacks from numerically superior foes. Internal production facilities supplied the Barrage with a continual supply of homing missiles, specifically known as brilliant missiles. These missiles could hone in and doggedly chase down enemy units, including individual infantry.
The downside was that the Barrage was slow to maneuver, with wide sluggish turning arcs that could leave the vehicle vulnerable. The Barrage did possess strong armor and reinforced deflector shields to compensate, trading speed and maneuverability for extra protection.
Two variants of the Barrage existed, a command variant and a transport variant. The former was used by ground commanders for their behind-the-lines headquarters, while the latter was used to move troops as part of an armored spearhead or flanking maneuver. The command variant sacrificed troop space of additional sensors, communication suites, and officer quarters. The transport variant carried more soldiers and had room for speeder bikes and other small vehicles.
