Bantha Burger is an Alliance-based but pan-galactic chain of fast food restaurants and a subsidiary of the NAKAIOMA Corporation. Headquartered at Nakaioma Plaza on Coruscant alongside the rest of the group, the chain operates restaurants throughout the galaxy, utilizing a system of franchising to sell their brand name to local business owners, maximizing expansion while limiting costs. A relatively simple concept, franchising allows the Bantha Burger Corporation to sell the rights to use their brand to independent property or business owners on a planet in-exchange for a 'Franchising Fee' which they must pay in a lump sum to begin with, before providing a tiny percentage of all profits afterwards. Bantha Burger regularly cooperates with third parties for promotional campaigns, such as holofilms. Politically, the corporation attempts to maintain strict neutrality.

A majority of Bantha Burger locations are privately owned in the franchisee manner, with up to eighty-five percent of all BB restaurants across the galaxy being under the control of such groups, and the rest under the direct control of the company itself. To ensure a standardization of aesthetic, quality and service no matter where one goes in the galaxy, however, internal entities such as Bantha Burger Quality Assurance [BBQA], a division of Bantha Burger Corporation is responsible for providing the training, logistics and other assistance necessary to the company's independent restaurant owners. For a large part of the company's history, operations have been restricted to groundside planetary locales, but have since opened to space stations, ports and even shipyards. While the company is secretive of it's statistics, it is believed it serves one percent of the galactic population each day.

As the chain's designated 'Master Franchisee' the Bantha Burger Corporation is responsible for overseeing galaxy-wide operational standards, marketing and corporate structure, which it utilizes several different internal divisions- such as BBQA- among others to achieve. Bantha Burger Design & Construction [BBDC] for example is the authority surrounding the internal and external appearances of the restaurants, while also in-charge of ensuring construction or renovation of each location is up to the standards of corporate on Coruscant, and that each planet's specific building codes are followed to avoid legal trouble. Part of a set of special agreements, the Bantha Burger Corporation has limited control over aspects of it's franchisees beyond standardization, including which third-party vendors and distributors are approved to do business with, and hours of operation.

The Bantha Burger menu is for the most part identical in each location, however as part of the company's recent restructuring, there is now an allocated 'Local Menu' section of the typical BB-style menu, this changes drastically depending on where in the galaxy one is visiting a BB restaurant. In the Mandalorian Enclave, snacks like Uj'alayi can be purchased for desert and traditional Mandalorian beverages like Ne'tra gal can be bought alongside any form of Bantha Burger meal, while in Corellian locations, Salthia Beans are a condiment option. It is commonly theorized that these changes were made to detract criticism over the company's various controversies at the time, including unauthorized exploitation of wild Bantha herds and several pending litigations surrounding employee welfare on Skako.

Bantha Burger was originally founded as a small, family-owned business in Mos Espa, Tattooine in the latter years of the High Republic era, though it's first incarnation never expanded beyond five locations, it was generally considered successful for it's size and was popular among the local communities. Purchased by ESASHI, another subsidiary of the NAKAIOMA Group two decades prior to the beginning of the Clone Wars, the business would expand rapidly through the use of franchising, though in these early days the system was not nearly as streamlined and standardized as it is today. While never confirmed, there has always been urban myths and other such rumors surrounding the acquisition of the business from it's original owners, including accusations of unfair play, blackmail, or general deceit. At several points over the company's long history, holofilms have been released (backed by the company) that paint a much cleaner, friendlier picture.
