SOMEWHERE IN SPACE......

He remembered.. well. Not a lot. He remembered a club. Coruscant. He was last on Coruscant.

Now- well, he was floating. Floating? That meant space.

His tongue felt heavy in his mouth. His eyelids were heavier too. His limbs didn't work like they should have. Like they were supposed to. Like he was swimming, instead of floating. But he could breathe. And there was light. Bright light.

He opened his eyes, struggling. He was looking out of a viewport of a large ship, floating in space. Debris was all over, loose articles. Glowsticks, you name it, it was floating. And a few bodies, too.

But not his!

He rotated around, breathing heavy. Like his lungs hadn't been working at full capacity for a long time. He was under sedation of some kind. Or drugged. He was still wearing his standard gear, minus his pistols and rocket boots... So he wasn't too far from Coruscant. Right?

And who did it to him? Why? Where was he going? What happened to the ship?

"What the hell?" The sensors in Hilal's starship began to beep loudly causing the young woman to type frequently onto her computer to try to locate the cause of the anomaly. "Apparently there's a lifeform stranded in the middle of space."

Hilal had just finished a fulfilling a contract sending some poor dumb Rodian who owed taxes to the Rimward Trade League. It was a slow workday with all the good contracts being dried up leaving Hilal to take on easier and less glamorous ones. Still, the fact that there was a floating body somewhere in space is the most interesting thing Hilal had seen today. "DVA," Hilal said to her Droid companion. "Triangulate the anomaly's position, it seems that he's using some sort of IFF transponder to transmit his signal."

DVA hopped on to the desk inserting his wire onto the Droid socket. A few seconds later, he placed the coordinates onto Starship's HUD. "Okay....." Hilal muttered looking at the information displayed on her screen. "Subject is human, and his vital signs are weak and fading fast!"

Hilal had to make a call, was she going to abandon the man to his fate? He was close to death and there was no guarantee by the time she got to him that he was going to make it. "Ebullism is a hell of a way to go out....." Hilal muttered before sighing. "We have to try to rescue him DVA, who knows? Maybe he's some prince that has access to a lot of credits."

Chuckling at that statement, she turned to DVA. "Let's converge on his location," she said. "And I'll be the one who'll take him to the ship. Can't risk using the claw, might end up hurting him."

Hilal steered her ship getting closer to the person, flashlights activated in front of him and Hilal adjusted the seals on her armor so it can adapt to space. She walked towards the ramp and DVA opened the ship allowing Hilal to jump making sure to using her jets to propel her forward. It didn't take long for the young woman to reach the man. "Can you hear me," Hilal said taking out a breathing tube from her armor and attaching it to his mask. "Here you can share some oxygen with me," Hilal said. "Are all right? Can you move?"

Flashing lights, pounding music. Electronic music and the robotic movement of people.

He grimaced, blinking as the memories came back to him in spurts. A club? A dancefloor? Red and blue lights, rotating across his eyes. Pink skin. Hands on his back, on his face. He rolled his head to the side, lights popping into his peripherals.

And there were six of them, then one, then two. Then a face made of lights. Rotating spirals of lights.

The ship was large- huge, in fact. A barge of some kind, transporting something. Enough for a large city at once.

He slapped away the woman with little cat-like smacks, his mask peeling off of his face and back behind his ears. A nifty little trick- the mask wasn't really protective much more than punches or falling down.

"H-Hey! The life support still-!"

Nej was cut off when the lights came back on, and the artificial gravity did as well. Both of them were knocked to the floor- and the ship started to move. Fast. Fast and alarms started to blare, red lights streaking down the massive hallway- easily a mile long, now visible thanks to the lights coming back on.

The windows streaked by. They weren't going into hyperspace, but they were damn sure moving quickly. But where to, if not at hyperspace.

And suddenly, down the way a long ways- gunfire. An exchange of gunfire.

"Uh-oh. That's your pirates or something, right?"

Hilal's HUD began to light up the Navigation points directing her towards multiple hostiles approaching from hyperspace. A message from DVA popped up as well saying that they were hostiles. "Tell me about it!" Hilal shouted spotting the large barge converging on her and the man's location. "Get blaster turrets up and running! As soon as I'm inside of the ship, prepare the jump to lightspeed!"

What did the man mean when he said that those people were Hilal's pirates? Was he delirious from all that oxygen deprivation? Putting the man on her arms, Hilal accelerated towards the ramp of her ship. As soon she entered, Hilal rushed towards the cockpit holding the man in a bridal carry. The ramp closing behind them. "DVA GET US OUT OF HERE!" Hilal shouted her heart racing rapidly.

She could feel her ship shaking a little causing her to almost lose her balance. It was a good thing Hilal upgraded the shield generator with all the extra credits she's been earning lately. The ship has done a better job in absorbing blaster fire. Hilal placed the man on the co pilot's chair while she sat down next to DVA who was busy setting up the coordinates. The Droid stared at Hilal chirping wildly.

"Anywhere but here!" Hilal shouted clutching the controls and begin to swerve from away from the approaching ships. "Who the frack are these guys?!"
