One day while exploring the junkyard of Kestri, Hilal discovered a broken-down BD-Unit clinging to life underneath rusted Galactic Civil War Era X-Wing parts. Feeling sympathy for the struggling Droid, Hilal took the BD-Unit and began to repair him. Noticing his eager and curious personality Hilal happily began to add modifications to the droid envisioning him as her Droid assistant once she began her career as a Bounty Hunter. Naming the BD unit: DVA, Hilal often takes DVA on her missions severing as her partner. DVA will help broker deals, slice programs, and even take over any machinery if it means helping Hilal in her goal of becoming the best Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy.

- Advanced Scanning: DVA can detect a person's physical condition and relay it back to Hilal. Sometimes he would scan her to make sure that she's healthy.
- Loyalty: DVA is extremely loyal to Hilal and will follow her anywhere. If in enemy hands, he would rather self-destruct before slicers can access his databanks.
- Versatility: DVA can do it all from repairs, hacks, recon, item transport. Hilal has modified the Droid for success.
- Fragile: Is more suited for support than combat, DVA is reliant on his stealth device to evade enemies as one blaster bolt from even a Blaster Pistol can reduce him to scrap metal.
- Master of none?: Wow DVA can is good at the things listed above, he's not particularly great and does lean on Hilal to do task that he can't do.
