The young Misfit, clad in his armored attire, walked the empty streets of the Coruscant Underworld at a leisurely pace under the light rainfall; blotches of dried blood and grime, along with a handful of blaster scorch marks adorned the young man’s armor from head to toe, slowly washing away under the rain as he walked back home at a faint, pained limp.

Payday. He had carried out another contract successfully.

At this rate, he could make back the amount he had roughly a week ago in no time, as long as he could find himself more bounties and contracts offering good money; foregoing saving up for a set-up similar to what he had to leave behind in his first home in his Clan’s flagship, The Vhipirheim, he had spent most of it on much needed furniture -among other things- for his new place of residence.

Most importantly, he finally had gotten himself a good, proper bed. Gone were the neck pains and bodily aches. As much as he was generally restless, what little sleep he got was of quality now.

Never minding the throbbing, and almost debilitating bodily aches left in the wake of a blaster bolt bruising his flesh as much as the armor plate spared him a fate far worse, it did not take the young man long to reach the place he called home after traversing the streets and back alleys, all the while making sure there weren’t a set of prying eyes watching him, moving at a sharp vigilance despite his pained, injured state; in terms of its exterior appearance, the structure was similar to the building he had to clear out for security reasons not long ago.

He had settled in for another seemingly derelict, abandoned warehouse he had scouted out earlier before; but its interior was a very different story compared to its predecessor.

The door granted the young man passage following the faint hydraulic hiss and a mechanical groan. Closing and locking the door behind him after he stepped into the clean entryway, the kid walked the hallway stretching before him for a moment till he reached a staircase; finally ascending the stairs to the floor above with some effort, in between pained grunts and groans, the young man unfastened the straps of his armor, and threw them onto the floor upon reaching his room.

Grimacing in pain, and faintly gasping for air as if a sharp dagger found purchase deep into flesh and piercing his lungs, following close behind even at the wake of the faintest move of a muscle, he tossed away the flight suit he wore underneath his armor with some effort. Undressed, the young man threw himself into the shower after grabbing a bath towel and a bacta auto-injector from a nearby drawer on his way to the refresher.

A relieved sigh escaped his lips as he simply stood under the warm running water, pouring down on him from the shower head above at the turn of the faucet; it felt even better after a quick injection. Administering the potent medicine to himself with a quick jab to his midriff, the young man closed his eyes in relief, feeling the fresh bacta coursing in his veins as he tossed away the now empty, one-use auto-injector.

At the wake of each passing second he could feel his pain swept away in the shower.

He could stay there for hours, relaxing.

Ara had been waiting anxiously for this visit. Not only was it going to be a few days of staying with Kayl, but she was going to work on her podracer with him. Anyone who knew her knew just how protective she was over her baby, now the Whizzing Arrow was going to get another hand laid on her. Even Iris Arani Iris Arani hadn't even gotten a chance to work on it, let alone ride it.

She needed to call her up for a test run sometime...

The speeder truck pulled in and Ara casually opened the roller door to unload her machine, courtesy of the remote codes she got from Kayl. There was a chance that he would still be out and about by the time she arrived, so it was simply easier for her to let herself in. Once her pod was unloaded, she paid the driver and made herself at home, even loading a few packs of beer into the fridge for the two of them along with the ingredients for her burgers. A deal was a deal, after all.

But what she didn't realize at first was the running water from the shower or the presence in the building. A grin formed as she stared at his new bedroom, gears turning in her mind on how to surprise him. Her gaze then shifted to the second refresher and her plan became perfectly organized. The Zabrak snuck over to the toilet and flushed it... then again and again, siphoning the cold water out of the pipes almost entirely. She waited for his reaction then cackled away as she entered his bedroom. "Taking 'steaming hot' to a new level, I see!" She called out as she opened the door just slightly for him to hear.

She made her way back to the 'living room' and set up her personal holographic projector as well as her guitar. By the time he got out, the place was almost looking like a home, with a stereo and projector for movies, a guitar and speaker, beer and cigarettes on the coffee table, even a few podracing and band posters she had lying around to put up for him. The unwavering grin on her face was a good indication of just how excited she was for the visit.

"Beer's waitin', pod's downstairs and I'm gonna work on lunch in a bit." She spoke up once he emerged and immediately she closed the distance to yank him down and wrap her arms around his neck to plant a kiss on his lips. "Karkin' missed ya, by the way." She quipped as she let go of him.

He had only spent but a few moments under the pleasantly warm water streaming from the shower head above him, until the delicate balance of hot and cold water was swept away at the siphon of the toilet next room; scalded under the steaming hot water a moment after, the surprised, pained trailing shriek of The Misfit echoed all across the halls and rooms, sweeping away Kayl’s confused expression at the unexpected commotion from the second refresher.

Briskly the young lad shut off the faucet in between pained groans and yelps as a familiar voice reached his ears from the other side of the door to the refresher that followed in the wake of a sharp, mischievous cackle.

"Taking 'steaming hot' to a new level, I see!" She called out as she opened the door just slightly for him to hear.

By the stars, he muttered to himself, half annoyed and half stifling a laughter. ”You didn’t tell me I was going to be tonight’s dinner; poaching me like a lobster! Although he shouted not of anger but at a tone loud enough for her to hear, a faint semblance of annoyance in his voice would not be so difficult to perceive. ”Just a generous spoonful of Burra Fish Caviar on the side, and I’m ready to be served on a plate!” he quipped at her with a laugh of his own. Huffing a sigh as he switched on the faucet, he fine tuned the heat of the water once again to finish taking a shower. ”I will be out in a moment!”

The Misfit stepped out of the refresher with a long, clean bath towel firmly wrapped around him from waist down not long afterward. Droplets of water slowly dribbled down his toned physique; the nasty bruising that left its mark on his flesh at the wake of a blaster shot, was nothing more than a faint discoloration that simply adorned several spots across his chest and midriff now.

Bacta worked wonders.

"Beer's waitin', pod's downstairs and I'm gonna work on lunch in a bit." She spoke up

The sight of the Zabrak’s beaming features, and the highly contagious joy she conveyed into words with each syllable as she swiftly made her way to him, brushed away what little annoyance he had felt in the wake of her prank; Hey there, the kid met her heartfelt smile with his own as she pulled him to herself, wrapping her arms around his neck; a muffled, delighted groan escaped his lips as they melted against hers. as their lips remained locked, he cradled her cheek with a hand, and lovingly caressed the elegant bend of her waist with the other.

"Karkin' missed ya, by the way." She quipped as she let go of him.

”I missed you too, he warmly remarked with a smile pulling at his lips as he took in the ravishing pair of green eyes looking back at him. ”So, how have you been?” he asked her as he gently walked past her towards his gear on the floor nearby, when she pulled away. He began to hang up the grimy, bloodied armor and flight suit onto his armor stand nearby in his room afterwards, tidying up the small mess before he'd produce clothing from a drawer nearby.

lLcXg5L.png

While she didn't initially say anything, the red hue on her cheeks were a good indication of Ara's reaction to seeing the tall Mandalorian emerge with just a towel to preserve his modesty. "Busy as hell. Between lessons and hangar work, I've been busting my ass. But I've got the week to work on some stuff, so I'm wide open while I'm here." She explained as she watched him for a moment. "You know... if you didn't wanna get cooked in the shower, you shouldn't be lookin' like a snack over there." She smirked as she watched him with a smug look.

She watched him tidy up the pile of bloody armour for a moment as a frown set in. "Shouldn't you be cleaning that mess off your armour or something? Don't think blood is really that good for metal." She voiced as she walked over and picked up her guitar before taking a seat on the sofa.

While she waited for Kayl to get dressed, she switched on the instrument and set the secondary sound to start playing a drum beat. Once the moment came, Ara began to join in with the main guitar riff. Her head gently bobbed along with the tune until he emerged, earning a smile from the Zabrak as she looked up at him. "Figured we could check out the pod a bit later, we got all week for that. How's things been this side? From the messages, I figured you were keepin' busy." She asked casually as she turned to look at him, her fingers idly dancing around the guitar without skipping a note.

"Busy as hell. Between lessons and hangar work, I've been busting my ass. But I've got the week to work on some stuff, so I'm wide open while I'm here."

Mm-hmm. Just the usual then. I see,” Kayl muttered as he picked up his cuirass and helmet off the ground and hung it up on the armor stand. ”I’m glad they’ve given you the time for some much needed respite!” The Misfit remarked jovially as he went about picking up the rest of his armor from the ground; he was always happy to be able to spend more time with his ‘one and only’ whenever he could.

"You know... if you didn't wanna get cooked in the shower, you shouldn't be lookin' like a snack over there."

His back faced her as he went about affixing the remaining pieces of his armor set. The kid froze up -albeit briefly- at her smug remark that followed not far behind her initial explanation. I-I guess I shouldn’t, he stammeringly mumbled with a smile at her quip, followed by a playful chuckle from him; he could feel his features redden, flustering at her comment.

Shouldn't you be cleaning that mess off your armour or something? Don't think blood is really that good for metal."

At her inquiry and the remark that followed, he shifted his gaze onto her visage from over his shoulder. ”Ah I just got home from work,” the kid clarified as he pulled open a drawer nearby, reaching for the clothing within it.

Like any other Mandalorian, he too tended to his battle gear after every mission, but on occasions when Ara was with him, he tended to postpone that undertaking in favor of spending time with her. ”Don’t worry about it. I’d have to leave the armor and its paint job unattended for over half a year before it starts showing glaring signs of neglect,” the young man continued as he turned around with his clothing in his grasp. ”I’m going to square that away before lights-out,” he finished, smiling at her as he made his way to his bed.

”I’ll be with you in just a moment,” he said as he sat on his bed, setting the garments beside him on the bed; once the Zabrak left, allowed him a bit of privacy, he quickly dried himself with his bath towel before pulling on his undergarments, socks, a pair of jeans and a dark gray hoodie; just as he finished tying the laces of his black boots after slipping them on, a drum beat reached his ears from the living room.

Standing up, the kid moved at a leisurely pace towards doorway of the living room, grinning as the pleasant riff of a guitar reached resounded into the hallway; standing under the doorway with a shoulder leaned against the door frame with his arms crossed, he watched Ara play the guitar with a delighted smile pulling at his lips.

The investment into a sound system, as well as noise insulation, most certainly paid off. Any time she was around and played her instrument, he could see her passion for music with his own eyes; she was certainly not kidding when she said the tunes she’d play would not at all be background noise, that night they met.

"Figured we could check out the pod a bit later, we got all week for that. How's things been this side? From the messages, I figured you were keepin' busy." She asked casually as she turned to look at him, her fingers idly dancing around the guitar without skipping a note.

The mention of taking a look at her pod racer sparked a fire of excitement within the young man; he knew ins and outs of a wide variety of engines and how to fix them, so on and so forth… but he had never laid hands on a pod racer before.

Oh yeah I’ve been busy alright,” he remarked. ”It’s mostly the usual though; you know, bounty contracts… I actually managed to get enough credits for the set-up I’ve wanted for so long after today’s job, so that’s nice!” cheerily he answered her in turn as he walked towards her at a leisurely pace, and sat beside her on the sofa. ”Also, do you happen to know who 'Aurorae' is, by any chance?” he raised her an inquiry of his own. ”A Jedi such as yourself. She claims to be one of your best friends,” he explained further.

That girl’s identity still eluded him; she had hired his skills for a job not long ago. He knew very little of her; as much as she had stated that Ara was amongst her best friends, he had no way of knowing who that might be. He was not exactly well acquainted with her friends yet.

lLcXg5L.png

The moment Kayl sat down next to her, Ara slumped against him as she continued to play her guitar. "I thought that set looked new." She commented as she looked up at him. She understood the broke life completely. "But hey, that's a good brand. That thing will last years." She continued as she glanced at the sound system. "Did you at least get to buy yourself a proper bed?""She asked him with a snicker.

He went on to ask about a specific Jedi, though Ara kept quiet for a moment as she thought about it. "I... don't know an Aurora or whatever... but I only got that many friends. Supposedly one of my best friends, huh?" She repeated as she looked up at him. "Only Jedi best friend I got who's a chick is Iris. She's like a sister to me... but she knows better to use a vigilante name." She thought about it for a moment as her playing ceased.

"I'll talk to her... but she's cool. Real solid girl. Love her to bits. If she came at you or warned you about something, don't take it personally. I'd do the same for her." She explained calmly as she rested her guitar in her lap. For a moment she simply enjoyed the comfort of laying against him.

If Iris Arani Iris Arani really was using an alias again, while also going after Kayl, she was going to have to talk to her about it. It didn't sound right. Iris knew better than to take the vigilante approach again.

Though it meant a lot to the Zabrak to know that Iris was looking out for her. The things they wouldn't do for each other...

"Okay, so... what's first?" She asked as she got up to put her guitar on its stand before sitting on Kayl's lap with a smile. "You hungry or in the mood for mechanics? I can fix you something up real easy. Probably tired after just coming home from a mission." She spoke up as she looked up at Kayl.

"Did you at least get to buy yourself a proper bed?""She asked him with a snicker.

He chuckled heartily at her as she slumped against him a moment after he sat beside her. ”The first order of business was buying a proper bed, actually.” Kayl remarked grinningly as he gazed back at the Zabrak’s captivating eyes, gently wrapping an arm around her as he did, while making sure he was not restraining her ability to play the instrument in her grasp. ”What little sleep I get is high quality now.”

"I... don't know an Aurora or whatever... but I only got that many friends.

The Misfit remained silent as the girl took a moment to think his inquiry out loud as to who might Aurorae be to her. The young man smilingly gave a silent nod of his head at her upon the mention of a warning from her best friend, Iris; as much as he thought it to be unnecessary, he had understood the meaning underlying her harsh remark Iris Arani Iris Arani gave him.

But he couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness, which mild anger accompanied close behind the former, at the remembrance of the reason why the both of them had given him harsh remarks about wronging the Zabrak; she was betrayed, and that had hurt her deeply.

And he certainly didn’t like the idea of her getting hurt like that.

But such feelings were swept aside as her explanation came to an end, along with the tune resonating from her guitar; with a heartfelt grin the young man gently carded her long, silken dark brown hair with his hand as he held her gaze with his own, enjoying each other’s company in the pleasant silence that befell them both.

The sight of her in such peace and comfort as she laid against him was as fulfilling as it was pleasant; he could do this all day, and not ever voice a complaint.

"Okay, so... what's first?"

Sensing her gently shift away, the young man drew back his arm that gently wrapped her and his hand that caressed her hair before she got up and rested her guitar on its stand at the corner of the room. She did not leave his embrace for too long, however; the young man soon found himself taking in the pair of attractive green eyes looking up back at him, accompanied with a heartwarming smile, just a few inches away from his visage after the Zabrak sat on his lap.

"You hungry or in the mood for mechanics? I can fix you something up real easy. Probably tired after just coming home from a mission."

”A meal sounds quite ideal,” He murmured as he raised a hand, gently pulled her closer with a courteous grip over the back of her waist, and tenderly caressed the cheek of her visage with the other, slowly running his fingers down the faint scarring imprinted onto her features. ”But there isn’t a need to hurry for that,” The Misfit muttered softly with a grin, tenderly pressing his lips against hers for a kiss as his hand cradling her cheek ran down her visage, slowly caressing the girl’s elegant neck.

He was certainly not in a rush. They had the whole day for themselves, afterall.

With her legs outstretched, Ara was quite comfortable with Kayl's arm holding her close. As his lips met hers, Ara found herself caught in the moment. Her arms wrapped around his neck to hold him close as she reciprocated the tender moment. His hand on her neck, however, had her leaning a bit more into him as things grew rather steamy for her.

For a moment she pulled back with squinted eyes and a very pleased smile. "Careful, Mando. Might burn that trigger finger if things get hotter." She teased softly as a hand caressed his broad chest. Her cheeks were bright red from all the attention and the moment between them. Her legs tucked in as she leaned in to pull him into a kiss once more. The moment was rather perfect for it. She was hesitant about saying the words. Saying those words meant she was in for the long run.

"Kark you, by the way..." She muttered, giving him a light jab to his side with her fist. "Got me gettin' all red over here, I'm looking like I'm from Dathomir at this rate." She joked with a snicker as she stared up at his brown eyes, her hand tracing his jaw for a moment. The words were on the tip of her tongue. "... I think... I love you." She muttered, her hands gravitating lower to pull up his shirt.

Hopefully she wasn't making a mistake...

Kayl's shirt did a great job at doubling practically as a dress for her. Flipping the patties in the pan, Ara moved over to work on the rest of the meal. The buns were toasted and prepped, the dressing was ready and the chips were crackling along in the boiling oil. The only thing needed was the secret sauce and eggs, both quickly prepared in a few moments.

For the moment, a stupid smile adorned her lips as she took stock of the situation. "You better be able to fix that pod real good after all this!" She joked. Once the patties were ready, they were laid on the burgers, followed by the sauce and the egg. Topping it off with the rest of the buns, the carried the plates over to his table and set it down along with a beer for each of them. "Lemme know what you think, I'm always lookin' for more ideas to shake it up." She commented as she sat across from him.

As his lips melted against hers, the young man savored the moment to its fullest as with all intimate moments they shared with each other. His eyes closed as a faint, pleased murmur escaped him when her arms gently wrapped around his neck as she returned his advances in a heartfelt answer of her own.

She was addictively invading all of his senses yet again, in a manner all too similar to the night he had kissed the Zabrak for the first time. As her lips parted slightly, allowing his tongue to slip inside, he could feel the rapid, combined thud of each other’s heartbeat as their bodies pressed together in each other’s embrace; the soft tickle of her breath underneath his nose only exhilarated The Misfit more at the wake of each breath she drew.

Sensing her shift away from his lips for a moment, the young man set his eyes on the girl’s visage; he was met with a thoroughly pleased and playful smile spanning from ear to ear.

"Careful, Mando. Might burn that trigger finger if things get hotter." She teased softly as a hand caressed his broad chest.

The young lad chuckled at her teasing quip, as he felt her elegant hand slowly caressing his chest. ”You already scalded me under hot, boiling water; what’s the worst that could happen?” he playfully quipped back at her with a snicker, as a smile as wide as hers pulled at his lips. Leaning towards him for another kiss, the young man met her half-way. He shifted his hand from the back of her waist as he courteously locked his lips with hers; with a light touch, The Misfit softly ran his hand along the top of her leg, up to the elegant bend of her waist.

"Kark you, by the way..." She muttered, giving him a light jab to his side with her fist. "Got me gettin' all red over here, I'm looking like I'm from Dathomir at this rate."

He involuntarily muttered a faintly pained grunt as her light jab struck a healing bruise on his chest, but he faltered not in his embrace of the girl, and nor the smile taking hold of his visage was swept away by the momentary sting of mild pain.

He confined himself to silence for the moment as he held her loving gaze with his own, while her hand tenderly caressed the outline of his jaw at the wake of her snicker.

"... I think... I love you." She muttered, her hands gravitating lower to pull up his shirt.

And then she said it; her declaration of love. Her affirmation.

He did not need to hear it spelled out for him throughout the time they had been together to accurately gauge her feelings towards himself. He knew.

But actually hearing it from her? That meant the world to him.

He felt her elegant hands shifting lower from his chest, and pulled off his hoodie a mere moment after; reciprocating the courteous gesture in kind not a moment after, he slowly ran his hands up her legs, tenderly caressing her, until he reached the hem of her t-shirt; his gaze wavered not away from the pair of captivating green eyes as he removed the clothing, and pulled her closer.

All of his love, affection and fondness he harbored for her were muttered in one genuine, heart-felt sentence, as he took in her gaze. I am yours forever,

lLcXg5L.png

The appetizing and utterly tantalizing smell of the meat patties cooking on the pan wafted in the air. He followed the mouthwatering scent into the kitchen as he tucked his undervest into his jeans; with a delighted smile taking hold of his features at the sight of the smiling girl, the young man caressed her back with a hand as he walked past her towards the kitchen sink to get a glass of water.

"You better be able to fix that pod real good after all this!" She joked.

With a snicker The Misfit lowered the glass from his lips. Or else? he playfully teased with a grin. ”You are not questioning my skills, are you? he quipped further, after taking one last sip of his water while he watched her carry out the finishing touches of their meal.

Setting the empty glass on the counter, the young man walked to the fridge as she carried over the plates to the table. ”Looks like we’ve got beer for days,” he chuckled at the sight of several six packs in the fridge, alongside the small shipment he had ordered for the occasion.

Leaning forth, the young man held two bottles of beer bearing labels in Mando’a in his hands, as he closed the lid of the fridge. Making good on his promise that the beers would be on him, he set one of the bottles alongside her plate as he walked past her to his seat at the table, sitting across from her. Kri’gee,” he remarked. ”Quite potent, and strong. Unlike its more sweet counterpart, Ne’tra gal, it’s quite bitter, too.” he finished as he reached for a burger from his plate.

"Lemme know what you think, I'm always lookin' for more ideas to shake it up."

Silently taking a bite in the wake of her remark, the kid savored the meal for a moment with his eyes closed; the meat patty was, without question, prepared with high quality ingredients and with actual ground meat, in stark contrast to the paste-like “meat” several fast food chains served their customers all across the galaxy. Cooked just right, it retained a good amount of its juices; not too much to make a mess, dribbling down onto the plate, nor was it dry and bereft of any juice.

The taste of the spices and the rest of the ingredients -the burger’s flavors- were pretty balanced; in harmony, neither the sauce or the spices in the patty were dominant over the other.

It was wonderful.

Faint, pleased sighs and groans escaped him with each bite. ”It’s amazing,” he sincerely remarked without an ounce of exaggeration as he took a moment’s respite, opening his eyes. ”I can’t think of something that would make it even better for the moment,” he remarked, savoring the tantalizing after-taste remaining over his taste buds with a nod of his head. ”What’s in the sauce?” he casually asked her as he popped one of the crispy, golden fries into his mouth before opening the bottle of his beer. ”Albeit faint, I did pick up a hint of a hot sauce.”

Ara flashed him a toothy grin at his question. "I know what those hands can do, I'm waiting to see what that brain can do." She teased as she looked back at their food. "Mandos ain't known for their smarts, after all." She continued with a wink.

While she set the table up, Kayl handed her a bottle of Mandalorian beer, though his description had the Zabrak looking forward to trying it out. "So, you're saying Mando beer is actually proper beer? Ain't hearin' complaints from me." She remarked as she popped the cap off and took a hearty swig. Immediately her eyes went wide at the strong, bitter taste and the harsh fizz in her mouth. "Oh man." She took another sip as she looked at him. "This is good."

While she was enjoying the beer, Kayl was enamoured with the burger in his hands. "You want me to give you two a moment alone?" She quipped at his moaning. He went on to complement the food before asking about the sauce. Ara took her time to answer, helping herself to a few mouthfuls to draw the suspense out. "Ketchup and Mayo, with a light touch of hot sauce to spice it up." She finally explained. "Trick is the amount, but that's a family secret." She teased with a foot nudging his leg.

"Apart from your clan and clan leader, you got anyone else? Like... you already met Iris and you'll probably run into a few other people... might even meet my mom sometime. But ain't there anyone on your side we can visit? Or any place you'd wanna go to? You know I'm wide open for any ideas, right?" She asked him casually as she helped herself to a few chips.

It was going to happen eventually. It always did. They were together now, it would only be fair to meet the important people in their lives. A light snicker escaped Ara as she took a sip of beer. "I'm waiting for the day you meet Master Valery. That'll be interesting to see." She quipped with a maniacal grin.

"So, you're saying Mando beer is actually proper beer? Ain't hearin' complaints from me." She remarked as she popped the cap off and took a hearty swig. Immediately her eyes went wide at the strong, bitter taste and the harsh fizz in her mouth.

The young man chuckled heartily at the sight of her genuine reaction to the strong Mandalorian beer upon taking a hearty swig from the bottle; it reminded him of his first time trying the potent drink during the celebration marking his rite of passage to Mandalorian adulthood, upon passing his Verd’goten.

Raising his bottle of Kri’gee to his lips, the young man shuddered ever so slightly from the bitter after-taste of the potent beer, sweeping away the pleasant, flavorful sapidity of the burger after he took a swig. Setting the bottle down on the table, he finished the burger in his hands with one last bite alongside a handful of fries.

"Oh man." She took another sip as she looked at him. "This is good."

“Although I deem it to be an acquired taste, I concur.” The Misfit voiced his agreement with her with a casual nod of his head as he reached for the second burger from his plate; he hungrily -yet not at all bereft of manners- took a hearty bite from his meal as she threw him a quip at his likening of the meal.

"You want me to give you two a moment alone?" She quipped at his moaning.

Reaching for his drink, the young man washed it down with the potent beer. ”What you need to give me, is the recipe for this burger,” he said with a satisfied grin as he took in her gaze before she went about explaining the rest of the ingredients that went into making the sauce.

Ara took her time to answer, helping herself to a few mouthfuls to draw the suspense out. "Ketchup and Mayo, with a light touch of hot sauce to spice it up." She finally explained. "Trick is the amount, but that's a family secret."

At last after a moment's quite obvious teasing and suspense, she answered; smiling, the young man nodded to his ‘one and only’ with an understanding as a foot brushed and nudged the calf of his leg. Even if I’d say please? the young man reciprocated her teasing with a quip. While he savored each bite from his burger, the young man fell silent for the time being when she began speaking of a different topic; intently listening to Ara, the young man slowed down his pace of which he ate.

He took a little longer than a moment to respond to her as he chewed a bite from his burger alongside a handful of the crispy golden fries, before the young man shook his head at a shallow sigh. ”To my regret I cannot say I do; I would have been delighted to introduce you to my mother and father but they've long departed from this world,” he casually answered her initial question, seeming untroubled by the fact.

He had only memories he cherished of them, from his childhood; and nothing else. Regrettably, he possessed nothing more than the aforementioned from them. Although their voices, he could remember them to an extent, their visage, what they looked like, was lost to time; and with the everyday struggle, his memories of his parents withered away, as much as the events that would see them taken away from him were fresh in his memory, as if it happened yesterday.

”But as for places to visit? I’ve had several in mind actually! One of which is The Maelstrom. It’s located in the Albarrio Sector,” he continued after answering her initial inquiry. ”I would love to see the nebula with my own eyes,” he remarked with a smile after taking another swig from his beer.

”What about you? Where would you want to go?” the young man raised an inquiry to Ara in turn, before she made mention of The Sword ( Valery Noble Valery Noble ). ”I’ve been hearing about her - and I mean, of course; One would have to live under a rock not to,” The Misfit snickered at her rather maniacal grin, which had him raise another question out of curiousity after taking another bite from the burger in his hands. ”What is she like in person?”

A scoff escaped the Zabrak at his quip as she glanced away for a moment. "Gonna have to do a lot better than say please." She fired right back with a wide grin. She did get a bit nervous as he began to talk about his family and what happened to them. She could tell that it wasn't the most pleasant of memories, naturally, but she couldn't exactly feel any deep regret or grief from him. He had moved on, came to terms with his parents.

It was a relief for Ara as she watched him, listened carefully as he spoke. At least she didn't kill the mood this time. Though her eyes went wide as he mentioned a very peculiar destination he wanted to visit someday. "The Maelstrom? Real famous area. Smugglers used to always talk about the place. Pirate hot spot... perfect place for some time away, if you ask me." She quipped as she sat back in her seat. With her meal done, she needed some time to let everything settle. He went on to turn the question on her, asking about places she would like to see. She pondered for a moment with pursed lips over the options. "Did hear it's beautiful, though. But... not really sure where I'd like to go. Anywhere with plants, really. Felucia or Lothal... places like that. Kashyyyk is probably my favourite place in the galaxy, though. Karkin' beautiful planet. No big cities or rotten smell in the air. Hell, the forests make the buildings here on Coruscant look like a joke." She explained with a bright smile. "Probably sounds a bit stupid, but I just like seeing planets like that. Places where you can still feel life around you." She rose from her seat and cleaned up the table, however she paused at his next question. It was a rather bizarre one she wasn't expecting.

"Master Valery?" She spoke up as she cleaned the dishes. "Huh... not sure how to answer." She snickered as she set the clean cutlery aside. "As a person, she's like an aunt to me. There's probably four people in this galaxy who I think are simply the best ever and she's third on the list... after my mom and Master Sol'yan." She spared a glance at him with a laugh as she thought a bit more over it.

"As a Jedi? She's real good. I mean... I don't think there's really a lot of Jedi who can match her with skill or stuff... and she's built like a Star Destroyer. She went through hell and back, lost her husband and stuff... but she keeps marching on. Honestly a real solid role model for other Jedi. I ain't ever gonna be as good as her... but I hope I can at least make her proud after everything she did for me." She paused with a gentle smile as she stared blankly into the sink.

With a hum, she quickly finished up and took his hand to pull him along. "Come on, I think I've kept you hanging long enough. Time for you to meet the Arrow." She commented as she led the way down the stairs.

A tarp hid the machine from view, but the Zabrak was quick to yank it off and reveal her personal masterpiece in all its glory. "There she is. The Whizzing Arrow." She grinned from ear to ear as she opened the cockpit and dropped into the pilot's seat. "I'm really hoping we can get the computer fixed, she deserves to run at her best." She muttered, gripping the steering bar and idly twisting the throttle.

"Gonna have to do a lot better than say please." She fired right back with a wide grin.

At Ara’s response the young Mandalorian chuckled. ”So what you’re telling me is I have a chance, Kayl would reciprocate her playful quip with his own after he’d swallow the bite from his meal, washing it down with a swig from the potent beer.

"The Maelstrom? Real famous area. Smugglers used to always talk about the place. Pirate hot spot... perfect place for some time away, if you ask me." She quipped as she sat back in her seat.

”They make use of the nebula's clouds, charged with raw energy which is potent enough to throw off navigation computers!” Kayl added to her sentiment with excitement, finding enjoyment and delight in sharing what he knew with someone who listened, as always. ”Though I deem it to be highly unlikely that we’d have a run-in with the pirates during our trip there, I cannot say such an occurrence would be outside the realm of possibilities,” with a nod as he smiled at her, he admitted to the last of her sentiment she had voiced with a quip.

Places where you can still feel life around you."

Finishing the last of his burgers alongside with the fries, the young man would utter not a word and listen to the girl intently as she answered her initial question; with a heartfelt smile the young man shook his head profusely as he chewed the last bite from his burger. ”Your sentiment is not at all preposterous,” he would say after swallowing his bite. Leaning back on his chair with the beer bottle in a gentle grasp, he would continue. ”Quite the contrary, it makes sense; born and raised in a concrete forest such as Coruscant, one would of course long for nature. An actual forest,” he gave her a nod of his head as he spoke.

Though, perhaps to Ara’s curiosity, his tone of voice would carry mild apprehension as he’d speak for those who possessed a sharp perception; unlike most of his kin, he didn’t get along that well with nature. He had an innate fear of bugs and critters; as much as he toughed it all out during his survival training when he was just a Foundling, he dreaded every moment of it in silence.

"Master Valery?" She spoke up as she cleaned the dishes. "Huh... not sure how to answer." She snickered as she set the clean cutlery aside. "As a person, she's like an aunt to me. There's probably four people in this galaxy who I think are simply the best ever and she's third on the list... after my mom and Master Sol'yan."

Watching and listening to her as she picked up the dishes from the table, he stood up as she spoke, tossing the empty bottle of beer into a trashcan nearby as he walked towards the kitchen sink while the girl took care of the dirty dinner plates. He helped himself to a glass of water as she paid him a glance accompanied with a heart warming laugh. ”And who would be the fourth that managed to earn that title?” he jokingly asked with a snicker as he drew away the glass of water from his lips.

"... but I hope I can at least make her proud after everything she did for me." She paused with a gentle smile as she stared blankly into the sink.

His back leaned against the counter beside the sink, he could see her absent mindedly stare at the sink at the wake of her remark. Setting aside the glass, the young man gently hugged her from behind, caressing the bend of her waist with his hands before he softly wrapped his arms around her. You will. I know you will, he whispered to her ear in firm belief, with a kiss onto the cheek of her beautiful visage in the wake of his remark.

"Come on, I think I've kept you hanging long enough. Time for you to meet the Arrow." She commented as she led the way down the stairs.

The Misfit smile spanned from ear to ear at her notion as she took him by his hand and pulled him along. ”Okay! But hang on, let me get the necessary gear for the fix,” he planted a quick, tender kiss on her cheek before gently pulling away from her only to disappear into his room. A few moments later, with his left vambrace equipped, his bloodied helmet and a cord of connection cables in his grasp, he walked down the stairs at a brisk pace, meeting the Zabrak inside the loading bay turned to their garage.

He took in the sight of her ride, pacing around the podracer, getting a good look at the beauty; he hadn’t seen a podracer up close before of any make and model at that until today. But even despite that he could tell it was quite a unique vehicle. At a glance he could tell most of the parts belonged to several fighter craft that were in service to the Galactic Alliance and The Empire, respectively.

How she managed to get those drastically different pieces to work together in unison deserved praise in its own right.

A delighted chuckle escaped him as he gently ran a hand along the cover of the engine, walking towards the cockpit of the pod at a leisurely pace. ”Alright,” he slipped on his helmet as he hopped up onto its fuselage, casually squatting on the hood of the cockpit. <”Let’s see what exactly we’re dealing with here,”> he muttered as he hooked one end of the connection cable to his helmet, passing the other end to the girl to hook it into the podracer’s terminal on the dashboard.

<”Could you give me a quick rundown of the problems you were having with the computer again?”> he asked the Zabrak as he would run a diagnostics check on the terminal once she patched him into the terminal via one of its GIB ports.

Remembering what exactly she had mentioned the first time they had met, about the problem she was having with her podracer, he had an idea as to what it was he was dealing with, but leaving nothing to chance he asked her one to make sure regardless of what he knew.

It was a warm sensation to hear someone reassure her that her desire to spend time in places wuth plants wasn't silly, although she could feel a hint of... something... behind his words. Was he afraid? She was going to have to ask about it. Being afraid of giant animals was one thing, but this felt different. If he was afraid of bugs or small animals, she was going to have a field day in terms of pranks.

At the question of the fourth person on her list, however, a menacing smile graced her lips. "That spot goes to none other than major-general DECEASED Aron Gowrie DECEASED Aron Gowrie . Met him and his troops on Panatha. The... Wildcats... if I remember right. Gotta say... that was an experience I'll never forget. Tanks and cannons all around, soldiers moving like one person, and at the top of it all you had Gowrie and his medic standing tall in the middle of an artillery barrage as if it's a light rain. I hope I can get to meet him again someday." She explained with a beaming enthusiasm and a glimmer in her eyes. The impression left on her that day wasn't going to dissipate anytime soon. As the conversation shifted to Master Valery, Ara leaned into Kayl as he caressed her hips and held her close.

She hummed at the kiss and looked up at him with a cheeky smirk. "Gonna need the vote of confidence, impressing the Sword of the Jedi ain't that easy." She quipped with a nudge of her hip. Moving on to her pod, Ara watched as he paced around for a moment. She could tell that he wanted to take it for a spin... or at least she thought he did... he wasn't going to have a choice in the matter.

Taking the wire, she plugged it into the port and sat back in thought at his question, figuring out how to word it. "Basically... it ain't working right. It's firing wrong, fuel management is all over the place, fails to start sometime. Hell, sometime it just doesn't ignite so I'm just pumping straight fuel through the thing. Coolant management is also shot to hell. I tried to flush the system, format and reconfigure the software, readjust the parameters, even checked the code for anything weird, but it doesn't wanna bounce back. Thing's completely fried for some reason. And I can't drive it like this, otherwise it's gonna start breaking parts and I don't got the cash to fix it. Also can't afford a new ECU either." She explained with her mood souring with each passing second. "I just wanna get my baby running again, she's more than just a pod to me." She explained with a sigh as she sat back in her seat, watching him through the windshield.

A smirk formed as her eyes drifted down to the dashboard and controls. Her hand drifted down and flicked down a few switches, until finally she flicked the power control.

The result was a shuddering pod as the repulsors came to life and the incredibly loud whine of the radial engines burst from nowhere.

Ara giggled like a maniac as she curled into herself, quite amused by her attempt to startle him.

A wide smile -beautiful as much as it appeared menacing in nature- emerged from the girl’s features when she went on to explain the fourth individual that was simply the best in the galaxy in her honest opinion; indulging her highly contagious enthusiasm, the young Mandalorian would meet her excited smile with his own as he’d confine himself to silence, simply listening to Ara intently.

The young lad would be lying to her if he said he expected to hear the name of a well decorated Imperial General to be her answer. With the trill of very much profound enthusiasm in her tone as she spoke of the topic, without a doubt military history appeared to be one of her interests.

Her intrigue and curiosity towards his people’s culture and history was very much apparent, but he was not aware that her interest expanded into history of war in general; The Misfit had no recollections of a conversation about Ara expressing that interest before.

"Basically... it ain't working right. It's firing wrong, fuel management is all over the place, fails to start sometime. Hell, sometime it just doesn't ignite so I'm just pumping straight fuel through the thing. Coolant management is also shot to hell. She explained with her mood souring with each passing second.

When the girl began listing the issues regarding her pod racer, answering his inquiry, The Misfit’s gaze behind his T visor lingered on the Zabrak’s visage; when Ara plugged in the connection cables of his wrist mounted computer into the pod racer’s terminal inside the cockpit, the young man would waste not a moment in getting to work; he started off with a diagnostics check immediately, to both confirm the list of troubles she was having with her ride, and to find if there were other issues with the pod she might’ve missed.

"I just wanna get my baby running again, she's more than just a pod to me." She explained with a sigh as she sat back in her seat, watching him through the windshield.

The affectionate smile he offered to her would be shrouded underneath his armored visage, but would be perceivable in his words as he spoke. <”I will treat her kindly.”> he reassured her, hoping to improve her souring mood.

<”In the past few months, I’ve been working on a custom interface and operating system, to replace the one you’ve currently got installed here,”> the young man began; his gaze had shifted onto the touch screen of his vambrace as he spoke of his work about the operating system, tailor made for a pod racer. He monitored the diagnostics check in the meantime. <”It should be far more compatible with your pod,”> the young man said, a synthesized intonation in his utterance. <”In theory, that is.”> he added, with a smirk pulling at his lips. <”I will have to run several simulations to make sure the new system is functioning properly, and to ensure the instruments are in full attunement with the software; a field test afterwards would be more than optimal to fully gauge said affinity of the mechanical with the software, however,”> he remarked.

At the wake of his words, the young man would retreat to silence as he began focusing on his work; with each passing moment, his surroundings faded away. In contrast to what Ara had more than likely expected him to react to the sudden, unexpected roar of the pod’s engines, the young man was completely unphased by it; he did not at all jolt up like a scared cat. He remained squatted on the pod as if nothing happened, close to the canopy and the girl; his T visor did not flinch off the screen for even a moment when the engines roared to life.

As with any task taking place in a terminal that demanded his full and uninterrupted attention, The Misfit channeled all of his attention to the task at hand; the diagnostic checks confirmed the girl’s list of problems she was having.

Said problems, however, appeared to be non-hardware related in nature; just as he suspected when she had talked to him about the troubles with her pod, several months ago.

Immediately after the diagnostics check was finished, the young man went about installing the custom OS into the pod’s ECU, after properly uninstalling the pre-existing system installed within the salvaged TIE Fighter flight computer.

Finally, the young man would look up from the screen of his vambrace mounted terminal; he was unsure of the amount of time that had passed while he carried out the modifications, but once he looked up from the screen, having finished several simulated races with the pod -to ensure full response of the pod’s controls- with his helmet playing the function of a virtual reality device, he would be mildly surprised at the growl of the pod’s engines reaching his ears.

In perceivable confusion the young man would look over his shoulder at the roaring engines, and back at his screen; perhaps along the way he had mistakenly fired up the craft. With the press of a button on the touch screen of his terminal, the roaring engines would wind down with a whine shortly after, turning off.

<”Okay, it should be working like a charm now,”> with a precise, inward flick of his left wrist he closed the touch screen of his terminal; reaching for the connection cables plugged into the ECU of the pod, he unplugged it free after a few gentle yanks. <”Would you like to take her out for a spin?”> he’d ask her then as the cables retracted into his vambrace; a wide smile pulled at his lips as his gaze lingered on the girl’s visage.

He knew damn well he need not to raise such an inquiry; it was of the rhetorical kind.

To the Zabrak's dismay, her attempt at a prank had absolutely no effect on Kayl as he focused on working through the issues on her pod. With a huff, she shut down the machine and sat back with folded arms as she stared up at him through the open door next to her. Adding in a normal windshield would probably have been a better call in terms of visibility, instead of a series of monitors and cameras, but she had seen enough incidents involcing large objects being flung into the front of a pilot's cockpit.

The silence had her mind wandering a little around everything. Their shenanigans from earlier, him helping her out with the pod, her staying with him for no less than a week... it was daunting to think about it all. She trusted him, she felt like this was the right call to make... but there was still that lingering nervousness in the back of her mind. A little voice that gnawed at her. The only answer to all of these issues, from the look of things, was time. The more they spent time together, the more they would probably settle in. That's what her mom said, pretty much.

She was drawn out of her thoughts when her pod turned on beneath her without any input on her part. For a moment she freaked out and reached for the switches to shut it off, but Kayl beat her to it and turned the powerful machine off again. The confused Zabrak stared on with wide eyes for a moment before realizing what had happened.

<”Okay, it should be working like a charm now,”>

<”Would you like to take her out for a spin?”>

"Dude you nearly gave me a heart attack!" She called out as she stared up at him. After a shaky breath, a chuckle escaped and she sat back in the seat. "She's working again?!" She asked, running a diagnostic check on one of the screens. It seemed that everything was running perfectly. The machine was going to have to run for the computer to tune itself, but it already looked like a massive improvement. "You actually did it..." She muttered. "You crazy backyard scientist, you karkin' did it." She giggled like a crazy person as she looked over the statistics and values on the main screen.

Hopping out of the cockpit with her arms in the air, she let out an excited howl before yanking him off the engine to give him a hug. "Thank you!" Naturally he earned a kiss on the lips as the Zabrak happily paced around the pod. Eventually she calmed down and turned to look at him again. "Can't just take her out, sadly. We're gonna have to find an open area to use as a track. These things ain't like normal speeders, they go way too quick for tight areas like this." She explained as she looked back at the machine.

Her thinking came to an end with a grin as she yanked him into the pilot's seat. "I'll show you the workings in the meantime." She hung over his shoulder as she turned the various features and components on, until finally she hit the ignition to power the whole machine up. Once again it lifted off the ground. She quickly hopped in and made herself comfortable on his lap, sitting to the side to give him a good view as she pointed the various details out.

"Dude you nearly gave me a heart attack!" She called out as she stared up at him.

The young lad slightly recoiled back at her shout underlied with mild annoyance, but a hearty chuckle from the girl would be quick to follow in the wake of a shaky breath. <”I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you,”> The Misfit offered her an apology with a mutter; he was trying to wrap his mind around as to how her pod racer came to life while he carried out the simulations as a thoroughly excited shriek escaped Ara.

"She's working again?!"

As she went about checking his handiwork for herself with the use of the screens before her in the cockpit, a synthesized chuckle escaped the young lad’s helmet annunciator; his gaze remained over her charming visage as a heartfelt grin pulled at his lips. Her inquiry as to whether the pod was functioning once more or not carried no incredulity; her excitement merely mixed with her astonishment.

"You actually did it..." She muttered. "You crazy backyard scientist, you karkin' did it."

The Misfit’s parsec-wide smile grew wider and wider as the girl let out a giggle that could potentially have someone not well acquainted with her question whether she was a brick short of a load or not, but that was not at all the case for the young Mandalorian; her laughter, energy, excitement was highly infectious. It wasn’t for long until he found himself heartily cackling along with her as she continued to read off the diagnostics data presented to her.

Thoroughly happy and satisfied with the results of his applied fix on her pod racer, the young man could not find the time to slide off from near the canopy of the pod; the Zabrak was already all over him, shortly after she hopped out the cockpit. Yanking him down, The Misfit found himself taking in the beautiful pair of green eyes of his beloved, glowing brightly with a glint of excitement as she wrapped him in a tight, loving embrace.

"Thank you!"

<”The pleasure is all mine,”> the young man muttered as he tenderly caressed her long, flowing dark brown hair; seeing her merry, and happy like that -through his own actions at that- was priceless for the young lad. Such little things were quick to become invaluable for him from early on into their relationship; he cherished all of it in his memory.

Pulling back her embrace to take a quick gander at her pod as she paced around it a few times, it would not take her long to return to his embrace; casting the helmet aside, The Misfit met the girl half way when she reached up to his visage for a kiss. Pulling her closer, a pleased, contented hum escaped him as he locked his lips with hers.

Serenity took hold of them both for a moment, as the young Mandalorian trailed her gaze when the Zabrak’s attention shifted onto her pod racer after the intimate kiss.

"Can't just take her out, sadly. We're gonna have to find an open area to use as a track. These things ain't like normal speeders, they go way too quick for tight areas like this." She explained as she looked back at the machine.

At her explanation the young man would spare her a silent, concurring nod of his head; in the excitement he shared with her he forgot about that fact, that the urban terrain here on Coruscant was, mostly, very difficult to negotiate for a pod racer. He had heard of illegal and legal pod races taking place on Coruscant, but it was nowhere near as popular as its speeder bike counterpart.

The latter was much more suited for the narrow streets of Coruscant.

”I could help you find a place spacious enough for a pod racer,” the young man offered her. ”Some of the derelict areas that are industrial in nature could perhaps do the trick; the streets there, are made to accommodate for large vehicles after all.” he pitched his idea to her, though it was wholly up to her to take the decision, of course.

"I'll show you the workings in the meantime."

Whether she considered his idea or not after giving it a moment’s thought, it mattered not to him whether she’d follow through with the idea of taking her out for a spin on the industrial sector of this level or not; he was wholly content with the idea of learning the workings of her pod racer, too.

Yanked by the girl again, the young man allowed her to guide him into the cockpit of the pod racer; from the outside it looked a bit cramped and constricting for his size but surprisingly, once inside, the driver’s seat of the cockpit was spacious enough to be comfortable for him, and allowed space enough for the Zabrak to sit comfortably on his lap.

As the girl introduced him to the controls of the pod racer, The Misfit held her close in his embrace, gently wrapping an arm around her as he listened to her instructions intently; though he could make out what several of the controls and buttons did upon interaction, he not at all had any experience with a pod racer before, certainly not with a custom one such as hers. ”Where would the handbrake be?” he asked Ara as his gaze shifted from the dashboard before him, looking around the cockpit.

Slamming against the wall right across from them upon unintentionally managing to gain speed, was something not at all he wanted.

lLcXg5L.png

Ara was silent for a few seconds as she contemplated his suggestion, trying to think of any areas that could potentially work. Unfortunately, despite her knowledge of Coruscant, she couldn't immediately think of a place. Luckily they had the whole week to figure out a circuit for a test drive. "Can maybe fly around a bit tomorrow, check out the industrial areas. There should be a big factory open around here somewhere, lots of old buildings not being used here in the lower levels." She suggested as she clambered into the pod's cockpit.

She was rather thankful to have the foresight of building the cabin a little bigger than was necessary. Originally it was meant to accommodate her if she grew taller, and while that didn't exactly happen, it did allow her to not only add a passenger seat, it allowed her to move the pilot's seat and controls around a bit to make room. The open doors on either side helped as well.

But what she wasn't expecting to hear as she showed him the main cameras, functions and systems... was the question of a handbrake. Ara raised an eyebrow as she turned to look at him. "Handbrake? No such thing on this death trap!" She declared with a slap on the dashboard. "She's got reverse thrusters and maneuvering drives, but ain't got a thing to bring it to a halt immediately. They go too fast for something like that and they're way more simple than a starfighter. Coming to a dead stop on a dime isn't needed in a race." She explained as she leaned against him. The dangerous consequences of not having such an emergency system wasn't lost on her... but nobody did podracing because they wanted to be safe. "Hey, don't worry! If something goes wrong, pilots don't always live long enough to regret it." She joked with a laugh at her own dark joke.

Eventually she climbed out and waited for him to get out too before closing up the machine. Her smile still lingered as she looked over the machine. She needed something to seal the memory. "Come on." She took his helmet and set it on one of the engines before pulling out her datapad. She paused for a moment as she looked at him and then her device.

"You do it, you got longer arms." She opened the camera app and handed the device to him, immediately wrapping her arms around him as she smiled for the camera.

"Can maybe fly around a bit tomorrow, check out the industrial areas. There should be a big factory open around here somewhere, lots of old buildings not being used here in the lower levels."

At the girl’s response that followed a moment after her silent pondering of the subject matter at hand, the young man’s lips would curl to a smile, laden with excitement; as much as a particular place or a street did not come to mind from both of them, they could still find a place that could, in theory, facilitate a pod racer. He could most certainly help her with looking for such a place, too.

"Hey, don't worry! If something goes wrong, pilots don't always live long enough to regret it." She joked with a laugh at her own dark joke.

Oh, The Misfit would mutter as he shifted his gaze from the Zabrak, and onto the contents of the dashboard and controls that surrounded him inside the cockpit, chuckling at her dark quip with a perceivable nervousness; as much as the controls of the pod racer appeared foreign to him at a glance, he could make out certain things from his knowledge of space-worthy vessels. The pod racer, as she said -and as far as he could tell, too- was custom built by her, using starfighter parts of both Alliance and Empire made, though most of the aforementioned controls were assigned to a different task that they once fulfilled in their own respective starfighters before they were repurposed by Ara to be used in her pod racer.

Hence, with faint timidity the young lad would refrain from tampering with any of the controls for the moment, simply hearkening to his beloved’s words, taking in her instructions and teachings regarding her pod racer in silence.

It wasn’t long after concluding her introduction of the pod racer and her controls to him she hopped out the craft; her teachings fresh in his mind, the young man would power down the craft before joining her. The sharp whine and howl of the pod racer’s engines declined to a degressive growl before completely winding down.

Pulling himself out the cockpit, the young lad trailed the Zabrak’s gaze upon joining Ara by her side, taking in the sight of the machine and his handiwork; the fulfillment of having made her happy still lingered within him. With a heartfelt grin the young man wrapped an arm around the elegant bend of her waist as his gaze remained on her pod racer.

"Come on."

At her beckoning into taking action, he would appear puzzled for a moment as she grabbed a hold of his helmet, setting it down on the pod racer’s engine; but when she pulled out her datapad and leaned her back against the fuselage of her ride, he understood what she beckoned him for. At a brisk pace the young lad joined her, lovingly wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

"You do it, you got longer arms."

Chuckling in response, the young man took the datapad she offered him as the girl wrapped him in a tight, loving embrace. ”Sure thing!” The device in his grasp and the camera on “selfie” mode, the young man extended his hand forth and slightly vertical, just a handbreadth above his head level; after making sure they were both in the frame as well as the backdrop, the flash of the datapad’s camera shone several times at the press of its button, taking several pictures.

As his embrace over the girl lingered, The Misfit opened the datapad’s “Photos” afterwards, and held the screen at a pleasant level for both of them to view the picture they took together. ”Send them to my datapad, would you?” the young man grinningly muttered as he planted a kiss on her cheek before he gave her datapad back to her.

”So, are you in the mood for a holomovie or two?” with a smile he would ask her, as his hand affectionately ran up and down her waist while he held her in his embrace. ”Though I cannot say I have a collection of holomovies at hand, I do have a very fast HoloNet connection! Shouldn’t take me longer than a moment to download something you’d want to watch!”

As Kayl levelled the datapad, Ara hugged in close and smiled with an enormous, sincere grin at the camera. After the first one, she even snuck her hand up behind his head to pike her fingers up, snickering at the reflection on the screen. Once they were done, she studied the photos and immediately sent them all to his datapad. "Done and dusted." She remarked as she looked up at him.

His grip lingered on her for a moment as he suggested they watch a movie. "Not a bad idea. I brought a few along as well. Also got my holoprojector here for it, just need to rig up some speakers." She turned to face him as she stood on her toes, bringing her face just a little closer to his with a mischievous look in her eyes.

"But you gotta make the coffee and popcorn." She teased, slipping from his grasp as she grabbed his helmet. "Unless you don't want a surprise..." Her synthesized voice continued from behind the T-visor as she made her way up the stairs.

Upon turning off the lights of the bay, the Zabrak also discovered how to activate the integrated night vision on the helmet. "Yo! That's wizard... it even makes the 'twee' sound!" She immediately made her way back down the darkened area as she waved him off. "Get the snacks going, I'm gonna play with this for a bit." She giggled away as she walked around the space with the visor pulled down.
