As he looked down at the datapad in her hands while she went about reviewing the photos, while she was still in his embrace, the young Mandalorian couldn’t help but giggle a little bit at the sight of one of the pictures, where the Zabrak had piked up two fingers at the back of his head, like bunny ears!

That was so going to be his wallpaper for both his custom datapad and rig.

"Done and dusted." She remarked as she looked up at him.

Thanks! he said after planting a quick smooch on her cheek.

"Not a bad idea. I brought a few along as well. Also got my holoprojector here for it, just need to rig up some speakers."

After giving it a moment’s consideration at his proposal, a smile would pull at Kayl’s lips in response to Ara. ”I can get it all set up! I’m certain the projector’s compatible with the sockets of my rig,” the young man said; sensing her desire to shift around, The Misfit loosened his embrace, allowing her to turn around to look at him more easily.

The mischievous glint he was all too familiar with, was unmistakable in those lovely pair of green eyes, looking back at him just a few inches away from his visage; the young man answered her gesture with a silent, affectionate gaze of his own, wondering to himself what she had in mind.

"But you gotta make the coffee and popcorn... Unless you don't want a surprise..."

”Hah! You got yourself a deal!" he acknowledged without a second thought. A hint of excitement would be apparent in his voice ever so slightly. Catching up to her at the staircase, the young man would briefly turn to look at her upon hearing the all too familiar activation sound of his helmet mounted macrobinoculars.

Yo! That's wizard... it even makes the 'twee' sound!" She immediately made her way back down the darkened area as she waved him off. "Get the snacks going, I'm gonna play with this for a bit." She giggled away as she walked around the space with the visor pulled down.

A hearty chuckle escaped him as she hastily made her way down the stairs, quickly disappearing in the dark. ”Fine by me! You break it, you pay for it, though!” he quipped at her as he continued down the corridor, towards the kitchen; he didn’t have any concerns regarding the condition of his gear after she tampered with it. The material was sturdy, capable of withstanding several consecutive hits before actually starting to malfunction, so it would be quite difficult to break it, he assumed.

Or so he thought; he didn’t think she would stir awake the Basilisk War Droid -those several months ago- either.

But regardless of what he thought though, the young man would be quick to get to work; popping the lid of the filter coffee machine’s water reservoir, the young man added enough water to have a good few cups. Putting a filter in the filter basket afterwards, he’d put three measuring spoons of fine ground coffee into the filter.

After placing the coffee jug into its place under the drip nozzle and turning on the machine, it would only take the young man a little over five minutes to get done making the popcorn; cooked up in salted butter and at a pleasant medium temperature to avoid burning the kernels, the young man would leave the kitchen for the living room with two large bowls in his hands, topped off with their preferred choice of snacks.

There was still some time for the coffee to be ready, however.

Setting the bowls on a coffee table close to the couch, the young man would go about setting up the holoprojector in the meantime, by first hooking it up to his rig in the living room; he couldn’t help but wonder what her surprise would be, but chose to not dwell on it too much. He did not want to spoil it by analyzing all the little details and coming up with a credible theory as to what her surprise could be.

A lot more fun would be had for the both of them if it remained a surprise, and he hadn’t had a clue what she was up to.

Ara spent a considerable amount of time in the darkness, simply messing around with the various vision modes, scanners and other funky settings. Although getting used to using her eyes for the commands took a little while. But eventually she found her way up to the living room with the x-ray vision guiding her.

When she reached the top, she lingered in the doorway to draw Kayl's attention. "Gonna show me what you got, Mando?" She remarked with a low voice. A hip pushed out as she leaned against the doorsill, one hand reaching up to slowly unzip his hoodie from her body in an attempt at seducing her Mando, while the other hand reached up to lift the visor... except she missed the release, instead flipping the mode over to night vision.

"Ow, kri-" In her recoil from the overwhelming light, she missed her step backwards. Several thuds and grunts echoed up the stairwell as Ara crashed all the way down to the floor below.

"Ow..." Her synthesized voice came from the darkness before a hearty laugh followed up. Perhaps taking the helmet off would simply have been easier...

By the time the Zabrak was finished having fun with his helmet and came back up stairs, the young Mandalorian would be long finished with setting up the holoprojector she had brought with her; after a quick sip, the young man drew the coffee mug away from his lips. Sat before his rig, he had occupied himself with the task of finding a good holomovie to watch together; it was a rather difficult one. Gauging the mood they were both in, the young man was torn between the genres of adventure, and romantic comedy.

Preoccupied for the most part, he would not have heard Ara’s footsteps in the hallway until she reached the doorway; sensing her presence, the young man was able to pull himself out of his half-focused state. ”What do you feel like watching?” the young man asked her as he scrolled down past several holomovies in the list he was viewing, his gaze lingering at the screen. ”Your coffee’s getting cold-” her words would have him come to a pause in the middle of his remark, as her low, inviting tone of voice -with a perceivable hint of synthesized intonation, filtered through his helmet annunciator- reached his ears.

"Gonna show me what you got, Mando?"

Paying her a glance over his shoulder, the sight he laid eyes on beckoned him to shift his full attention. Setting the coffee mug on his desk, the young lad turned to face her at his chair. An amorant smile pulled at the young Misfit’s lips at the sight of her hand gravitating at the zipper of the hoodie she wore as she stood invitingly with a hip pushed out as she leaned against the doorway.

He could feel his heart racing again.

But the moment, unintentionally by the Zabrak, would come to a rather comical conclusion; he saw the green haze washing over the T visor when she accidentally pressed the button for the night vision mode on the helmet mounted macrobinoculars, when she intended to lift up the device. Activated in an environment where light was aplenty, no doubt she was briefly blinded.

"Ow, kri-"

The young man momentarily found himself at a quandary; should he burst into a hearty laughter at her predicament, or shout a warning at the Zabrak to watch her feet? Obviously he chose the latter, but it was all too late already by the time he made the split-second decision; Careful! standing up from his chair the moment she staggered backwards, the young man dashed forward to catch her before she could fall down a flight of stairs, but it was already too late; he was fast and agile, but the distance between him and the Zabrak was too great to cover in such a short span of time.

A few pained grunts of hers reached his ears amidst loud thuds and bangs. Are you okay!? the young lad shouted after her with a perceivable tone of worry in his voice as he looked down the staircase; the green hue cast over the helmet visor was clear as day in the darkness below.

The young man breathed a muffled sigh of relief at her laughter; chuckling heartily, the young laughed with her as he slowly made his way down the staircase. He ruled out any possibilities of a mild concussion of some kind as he descended the stairs. Although the helmet offered great protection overall, he was rather certain she’d gotten herself quite a few bruises from the fall.

”I assume that fall was not exactly a part of your surprise,” The Misfit quipped at her as he lowered himself to a crouch. Before reaching for the light switch and turning on the lights, he lifted up the helmet mounted macrobinoculars to avoid blinding her more.

Shrouded by darkness before, the bruising over her skin was now made visible. He took a moment to check her injuries; further relief settled in him upon seeing the bruises, scrapes and abrasions were not serious in nature. ”It appears you will need some bacta before I show you anything, he quipped further with a chuckle; ”Come on, upsy-daisy! after slowly slipping an arm around her back and the other around the bend of her knees, the young man gently lifted her up from the ground in his embrace, without much difficulty.

Retaining his balance throughout, the young man ascended the staircase at a leisurely pace as he held her in his arms, carrying her to his room; hooking his heel behind the door, it closed with a click after him…
