Especially after their recent mission to Susefvi, Valery had felt that Iris was making a lot of progress as a Jedi. The girl always had the right views when it came to helping people and putting herself in harm's way to save someone else, but there was still training to cover as well. As much as getting experience out on missions was important, so was constant training to learn new things or develop others.
Today, they were going back to some more simplistic training with the goal to develop Iris' skillset further.

"Iris, meet me in the training room as soon as possible. It's time for your lesson."

Iris let out a sigh as she entered the training room. This was.. Different from what she was used to seeing. Outside in nature was the usual training area with Valery Noble Valery Noble . But now they were here? Her gaze traveled around the solid walls. What was the lesson going to be today?

"I'm here. .. Where are you master?"

"Up here."
Behind the glass up top, Valery appeared, her voice amplified by a microphone that Iris was able to hear clearly within the training hall. What exactly all of it represented was still unclear though, as this training room had only been finished recently. But that's exactly why Valery wanted to use it for a new lesson.
"We've spent a lot of time on assignments recently, so I wanted to go back to some training today. Using the new...toys... I have in this training room, I want to help you refine your skills with Telekinesis, and perhaps learn a few new techniques as well." the woman explained with a smirk.
"First though, what do you think Telekinesis is broadly speaking?"

Iris blinked at first. More surprised at the echo of Valery Noble Valery Noble 's voice around her. Then she looked up to the glass. Oh? Why was Valery there..? Ah, no matter. The Padawan stood a bit more at attention as she listened. This was.. Formal? It felt formal. Way more formal. Probably because of the room.

"Moving things without actually touching them."

"That's an application of it, yes."
Valery had been standing with her hands clasped behind her and posture straight, but now moved to tap a few buttons on a control panel in front of her. Within the walls around her, Iris would be able to hear mechanisms activate but there was no visible change to the room itself.
"Broadly, Telekinesis allows you to move or manipulate matter in various ways. Basic techniques allow you to open doors, push and pull objects or make them levitate. But some advanced techniques can be very powerful or even destructive in nature as well." Valery then explained before she presented her Padawan with the first small test.
In the center of the room, a pedestal appeared with the hilt of a training lightsaber resting on top of it.
"Using the Force, can you pull this into your hand from where you're standing?"

Destructive? Iris frowned slightly. She didn't want to be destructive. But.. Maybe learning it could help? The Padawan let out a sigh before pushing that thought to the back. Valery Noble Valery Noble had asked her to do something. Her hand reached out, pulling the saber to it through a small tug of the Force. She looked it over, the training saber, then up to where her Master currently resided.

"Why not my own lightsaber?"

Valery looked down and smiled, "Because you're not keeping it. Levitate it back over and neatly place it back on the Pedestal. Requires more control but it should not be too difficult."
She wasn't quite sure how far along Iris was with Telekinesis, but things were going to get a lot more difficult soon. Not quite destructive techniques, but she did plan to push her Padawan a little bit.

Oh.

Iris blinked, glancing to the saber in her hand, then to the pedestal. Her brow knitted together as she lifted her hand. Focus. The lightsaber lifted from her hand, floating towards where Valery Noble Valery Noble directed her to put it. And.. Yeah. It was noticeably difficult for her to control. She hadn't tried to do this before. It took a moment for her to get it onto the pedestal, but she had.

".. There."

"Very good."
Valery then smirked and tapped a button again, causing more mechanisms to activate inside of the walls. This time, Iris would feel a sense of danger — definitely not life-threatening, but something was about to happen that she needed to be ready for.
"Stop them, and push them back into the wall."
A moment later, a large square metal box suddenly moved out from the wall to her right and traveled across the ground towards Iris. She'd have to stop its momentum with the Force, or risk getting hit and knocked over. It would be uncomfortable, maybe even hurt a little, but it wasn't traveling fast enough to cause bad injuries.
Following the square box from the right, another would come in from the front side of the room as well, looking to also knock her off her feet.

"Stop them, and push them back into the wall."

"Wait wha-" The colors warned her of danger before she could even finish her sentence. She blinked, turning her gaze to the incoming block. Then instinctively brought her hands up. Stopping the block in space, though not without it's visible strain. She was supposed to push this back? The Padawan gritted her teeth as she focused on it. Briana had done something similar before. Other Jedi had.

She could do this.

Iris pushed out, shoving the block back. Then let out a relieved sigh. She'd done it. With a smile she looked up. Only for the room to spin. Too focused on what she was doing she didn't notice the next block being sent her way. She got hit immediately, sending her spinning to the ground. With a groan she rolled from her back, pushing her way to her feet. So that's how this was going to be?

A new focus took over as she stood back up, slowly flexing her fingers. Watching, waiting. She needed to stay aware.

Oh yeah, that's how it was going to be.
Looking down when Iris was hit by the large block, Valery briefly smirked but by the time Iris was back up to her feet, a serious expression had replaced her amused look. She tapped another button and high up on the wall to her left, a platform appeared. On top of it was a disabled droid.
"Make your way up to that platform. Use the Force to pull blocks from the wall, and gradually climb up." Valery said, and suddenly specific blocks in the wall lighted up green, but it alternated. To get up there, she'd have to be quick and also make use of other skills she knew.
"Oh and..." she didn't finish her sentence, as more blocks on the ground began to move in to collide with Iris. No matter where she went, she'd have to deal with them.

Iris turned her gaze to the droid, nodding slowly. Pull the platforms out, run up to the droid, and- Danger. She jumped this time, out of the way of the incoming block. Then turned her attention to the others. She needed to make a path, right? She reached out, tugging on a block as another came flying towards her. She gritted her teeth, ducking out of the way. Breaking her concentration.

This continued for several minutes. Iris constantly trying to focus on pulling out the blocks, only for another to come flying and pull her attention. Frustration started to take over. This was getting out of hand.

"To learn an ability on its own is useful to grasp the basics, but reality is never that simple," Valery called out as she watched her Padawan struggle taking into account everything that was being thrown at her. From the jumping and moving to the tricky walls and blocks that were looking to knock her over, Iris was forced to combine many of her lessons to succeed.
"Trust the colors to warn you, and respond swiftly. Don't stop moving and think steps ahead." Valery added as she looked down into the training room. Iris, who was struggling to get up there, was likely soon to reach the first spring-loaded wall blocks. Most of the ones she pulled out with the Force would remain in that position for her to jump on.
But one or two required a constant pull or a spring would send them back into the wall. The little trap demanded Iris to be able to split her focus more so she could concentrate on them.

Try multiple things at once? All at the same time? Iris gritted her teeth. It was hard enough to see through the colors to move and think without blinding herself to them. Let the colors guide her, but not submit to them? While controlling other things at the same time? Too much for the Padawan. Another block came, her barely getting out of the way as she pulled one of the others out so she could jump on them.

At least she could do that. Then the next snapped back. She blinked in disbelief. It wasn't supposed to do that, right? Right!?

The annoyance came flooding back as another block came flying for her. But instead of dodging she just raised a hand. Annoyance, frustration. This was why Domxite had been taken from her. She couldn't focus on many things at once. If she could, she could've saved Domxite. Colors bled out as she reached for the incoming box. A blast of energy, dark in nature, smashed the box away.

All at once she felt drained. Cold. Tired. What..? Her eyes drifted as she stumbled forward a step.

Valery remained quiet while she observed Iris, who was struggling to get through this obstacle course. It was designed to demand everything from whoever passed through it, and more. She wanted to push her Padawans and only through failure and getting back up, she'd stand a chance to pass.
But after several attempts, Valery didn't feel the determination she was hoping to bring out — she felt the girl's frustration, which culminated in darker emotions taking control. The Keshian Master immediately felt her heart sink, as old memories struck hard. No, she couldn't lose another Padawan like that.
With a quick press of an emergency switch, the room began to revert back to its original form, without boxes looking to hit her Padawan. Valery rushed out, and jumped over to Iris, ready to catch her if she were to pass out.
"Iris? You with me?" she asked, clearly worried about what she had felt.

"No, it's okay."

Valery said as she briefly moved her arms around Iris for a quick hug, but she quickly shifted to just taking the girl's hands. She looked at Iris, who was avoiding eye contact and tried to bring some kind of comfort.
"I pushed you too much, too soon. I'm so sorry."
The older woman was not one to panic or show signs of fear quickly, but she was unusually worried. For a Jedi to slip up wasn't entirely impossible, but she really didn't want her Padawans to go through something like that. Not again.
"Are you okay? I think we should call it here for the day in terms of training..."

Iris just nodded a little, pushing herself to her feet. .. With Domxite she never needed to deal with these emotions. They always helped her stay calm, even in training. Was this who she was alone? Her lips thinned to a frown as she turned away from Valery Noble Valery Noble .

".. Okay."

"Iris..."
Valery stood up straight again, not entirely sure what to say for a moment as she looked at her Padawan. The girl was obviously still struggling, and now even losing control in some situations? There were no easy words that could help or fix any of this.
"I know it's hard without Domxite, but never give up on yourself. Domxite bonded with you because you've always been kind and helpful." the woman said as she stepped over.
"When you find Domxite again, they will be proud of you, and happy to have you back."

Iris was quiet. She didn't know what to say to what Valery Noble Valery Noble was saying. Her master was right, of course. Iris believed that much. But.. It was hard. Hard to think about. Believe in. Domxite made all of this easier. .. Again, another crutch to make her a Jedi. Without blindly following the Force, without following her friends, was she really a Jedi? Her eyes closed as she retreated inwards.

Alone, all she did was get angry.

".. I don't like feeling like this.."
