STRENGTHS
+ Augmented: Baal is the result of secret bioengineering project. While still Thyrsian, his engineered mutations gave him thicker hide, denser bones, and stronger muscles than a baseline of his species. Thus, he is stronger and more durable than his kinsfolk.

+ Thyrsian Eyes: As a Thyrsian, an Echani offshoot, Baal has access to the instinctual precognitive ability commonly called "Echani Battle Sight".

+ Martial Artist: Like many Echani and Thyrsians, Baal was raised in a warrior culture that specialized in a form of martial art native to the galactic region. While modified for his unique physique, Baal is a proficient in the Echani form of martial arts.

WEAKNESSES
- Monstrous Appearance: Despite any contribution he brings to the Thyrsians and their plight, his appearance draws the fear and ire of his kinsfolk. Outside of any mission, it would be likely to find him in solitude or otherwise position of outcast.

- Sinks Like Stone: Because of his mutation's increasing his bone density, his biology does not agree with swimming. As in, he lacks some of the natural buoyance that baseline near-humans are accustomed to, making him at higher likelihood to drown.

- Thalassophobia: Because of the above, increased likelihood of drowning, Baal has a fear of deep water. Anything beyond the shallows causes an instinctual fear for him.

PERSONALITY

Baal is a very stoic man, showing little emotions outwardly. Having been derided as a weakling and now a monster has given him a figurative thick skin. He also has a strange form of comradery with his fellow Golden Company members. They may see him a monster, but he would just as easily shield them as they would insult him. However, he also comes off as a bit of a loner, seeming to prefer his solace.

HISTORY

Being born on Thyrsus is not for the weak. The natives tended to favor strength and power, being the originators of the famed Sun Guard that fueled the birth of other, notiable warrior cults. Such was not the original fate of Baal of the Haddad family. He was born weaker than his siblings, the figurative runt of the litter. He had always struggled to keep up, and usually was left in the dust.

His time soon came when he joined up with a secret resistance on Thyrsus. They had long been tired of Echani control over Thyrsus, wanting to become liberated. One of their goals was to create a series of genetically augmented soldiers that could help overthrow the Echani Authority's presence on Thyrsus. Baal was chosen for the fact that his weak form was expendable if the augmentation process proved fatal. It was successful, but the augmentation created some visible mutations that made his fellows decide against further experimentation. Now stuck in a monstrous. but stronger form, a decision was made as to do with the monster that was created. The Thyrsian resistance came to know of Khonsu Amon and Golden Company, and sent Baal their way. If they could not have their army, they could discipline their creation to become a great commander one day.

There was some initial skepticism with the mutant being taken on, but he was given a fair chance to prove himself like anyone else. He spent the traditional year as an initiate among the Golden Company. He passed the trials and was made a full member of the Company. He now serves at the side of figurative giants, hoping to one day return to Thyrsus and fulfill its liberation.
