As more weapons and other ideas for tools of warfare were being suggested, built, and tested by live people, the R&D department for the Crimson Hand realized that they could make a droid to do this job, as to not risk losing important scientists to a test that a droid could have done in their place. So, the B1-CT was made, allowing Researchers and Developers to make weapons and items that would cause loss of life if something went arie to use the droid to fill in the place of an organic test subject.

- Although the droid is meant to test weaponry, it actually has no combat protocols installed. This means that unless the battle is a ship to ship fight, this droid won't even know how to fight.
- Due to the way that the memory banks for this model were used, any attempts to give the droid new information outside of its parameters will cause a serious error in its internal systems, causing it to lock up and temporarily cause its systems to crash.
