OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To create a rotary style ripper weapon system for vehicles.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Primary Source: Slugthrower , Ripper
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Rotary Ripper
  • Size: Very Large
  • Weight: Extreme
  • Ammunition Type: 80mmx90mm "Ram'ika"
  • Ammunition Capacity: Beltfed only. Belts are 90 rounds.

  • Reload Speed: Very Low
  • Effective Range: Battlefield
  • Rate of Fire: Very High
  • Stopping Power: Extreme
  • Recoil: Extreme
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Dallorian Alloy and Beskar layered barrels. The inner barrels are Dallorian Alloy which allows for rapid firing of the powerful Ram'ika round without causing the barrel to melt. The Beskar sheath prevents the weaker Dallorian Alloy from being an exploitable weakness.
  • Fires the high-explosive, armor-penetrating Ram'ika round.
  • The average rate of fire is about 30 rounds per post per B.R.R.T.
Strengths:
  • Rotary System: Multiple barrels allow for an immense rate of fire as well as increased run time before barrels need to be cooled.
  • Ripper: This weapon uses physical ammunition which by-passes standard ray shields.
  • Built Bral Tough: This weapon is partially constructed using Beskar and as such has increased durability.
  • Ram'ika: This weapon system fires the devastating 80mmx90mm Ram'ika round, obliterating infantry, and heavily damaging up to and including medium vehicles.
  • BRRT: The sound from this weapon, both firing and the detonation of its payload, can cause even veteran troops to hesitate.
Weaknesses:
  • Bulky Bral: This weapon system is partially constructed of Beskar and as such, it is extremely heavy. Additionally, this weapon system is very large and does not fit into vehicles that were not specifically engineered to house this system.
  • High Recoil: This weapon system, due to the rounds that it fires at the rate that it fires them, has so much recoil that in order to use this weapon effectively targeting computers must be implemented.
  • Loud: This weapon system is by no means quiet, the sound this weapon system makes can be heard from one end of the battlefield to the other.
  • Exhaust ports: The Achilles heel to this weapon system are the small vents on the weapon housing that are located overtop the chamber. These vents are visible from a large amount of exiting flame-like plasma that is caused by the rapid firing mechanisms.
  • Expensive: To fire this weapon system for any amount of time costs more than what would usually be spent on a fresh speeder. As such the production of this weapon system is Limited.
DESCRIPTION

The Bral Rotary Ripper Tolase (BRRT) is the latest weapon system from Bral Metal & Engineering, a company based out of Mandalore; "Goods for Mandalorians, built by Mandalorians". The BRRT fires one of the largest rounds used by any weapon system not mounted to a naval asset or emplacement; the 80mmx90mm Ram'ika. This multi-barrel Roatary Ripper system boasts a high rate of fire, high stopping power, but also equally high recoil and weight. The BRRT is a weapon system capable of ripping entire battalions of infantry or light vehicles to shreds and scraps in short order. The BRRT's barrels are two layers, with the innermost layer being constructed of highly heat resistant Dallorian Alloy, and the outer layer is Beskar. This combination of metals makes the barrels and the weapon system itself extremely durable to both the wear and tear of fire, but also resistant to outside damage. A design weakness of this weapon system is the plasma exhaust ports that are located on the outward facing weapon casing. A well-placed round with armor penetration capability may cause a critical failure in the chambering system, if this occurs there is a chance for the beltfed BRRT to have a feeding failure, or in an extremely lucky scenario - early detonation of the recently chambered Ram'ika round, causing a chain reaction and thus the total destruction of the very costly weapon system.
