"Their deaths did not come silently"
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Vibrocore Resonator System: Generates slow, crushing sonic oscillations designed to inflict catastrophic damage and structural failure.
- Sonic Conduction Through Contact:
- Sharp Edge: Drives sonic waves into the target, causing rupture, fractures, and overall destabilisation of matter.
- Flat Parry Surface: Converts blocked strikes into concussive sonic blasts that can repel, disarm, or blow back opponents.
- Passive Sonic Field:Constant low-frequency hum causes short range:
- Electromagnetic Interference (jams comms, disrupts sensors)
- Blurred droid optics and targeting errors
- Nausea, vertigo, and mental disorientation for organic beings nearby.
- Resonance-Stabilizing Sheath: A specially constructed scabbard capable of suppressing the blade's constant frequencies. Even while sheathed, Voxis emits a rhythmic, breathing hum.
- Cursed Legacy: Many wielders throughout history have perished from the weapon's sonic backlash, psychic influence, or indiscriminate shockwaves. Some believe it is partially alive, retaining echoes of its past wielders through alchemized obsidian.
STRENGTHS
- Devastating Penetrative Strikes:
Simply touching the blade is dangerous, but upon striking, its oscillations can cause absolutely catastrophic, wide-reaching damage. - Concussive Defensive Counter:
Depending on the force of the strike, the blade retaliates with a burst of sonic havoc capable of repelling and rupturing whatever made contact. - Sensor Disruption:
Passive, short-distance sonic waves jam communications and distort sensor tracking, offering natural stealth in some environments.
WEAKNESSES
- Sonic Fatigue and Resonance Feedback: Prolonged or aggressive use overloads the wielder's senses, causing hearing loss, pain, and disorientation. Unpaced strikes risk triggering dangerous resonance backlash that can stagger or injure the user.
- Collateral Damage:
Sonic shockwaves from Bōchōr are indiscriminate. In confined spaces or near allies, the weapon's concussive blasts can cause unintended harm to friendly units, sensitive equipment, and surrounding structures. - Energy Weapon Vulnerability:
The defensive sonic oscillations of Bōchōr are only triggered by physical impacts. Energy weapons, such as lightsabers and blaster bolts, do not activate its retaliatory shockwaves, giving such weapons an advantage in direct combat.
DESCRIPTION
Bōchōr is a cursed relic from a long-forgotten era, believed to have once belonged to, or at least been associated with, an ancient marauding order: the Knights of Ren.
A brutal vibrocleaver, it was forged centuries ago during the Order's proto-era, somewhere amidst the uncharted expanses of the Unknown Regions.
Much about the weapon remains unknown, from the inner workings of its unstable but immensely powerful vibro-generator to the identity of its original master. All that is known is that it has been passed from one dark side wielder to another across the ages, consistently attracting the fascination of collectors and swordsmen alike, drawn to its deadly edge and the lingering curses that surround its legend.
Said to have been originally forged from some form of uncatalogued steel, it was later reinforced with phrik filaments and reworked with cortosis. Sith historians claim the blade contains dark side alchemized obsidian, imbued with a fragmented consciousness that remembers those who have wielded it.
While technically a vibroblade, Bōchōr is calibrated for slow, immensely powerful, crushing sonic oscillations, a stark contrast to modern vibroweapons, which focus on speed and slicing efficiency.
Each strike with Bōchōr drives resonant energy deep into the target, causing internal rupture and the collapse of affected matter. Its broad parry face transforms blocked attacks into retaliatory shockwaves capable of shattering armor, rupturing foes, and tearing through friend and foe alike with indiscriminate concussive force.
Bōchōr is a savage weapon, both a duelist's blade and a tool of vast destruction, dangerous to its wielder and all those around it.
The blade constantly emits a low-frequency passive sonic field that interferes with communications, scrambles nearby sensors, and distorts droid and computer vision. This passive field can cause havoc both intentionally and unintentionally, adding to the unpredictable chaos surrounding its use.
To mitigate some of its dangerous influence, once the Dark Side Church acquired it, they constructed a specialized sheath capable of safely containing the blade's resonant energy and minimizing its environmental interference.
Yet even sheathed, Bōchōr is never truly silent, it breathes, hums, and whispers into your mind.
