Classification: Island chain (Archipelago)

Location: It is located on the planet Mon Calamari (Dac) in a remote region far from the capital city.

Size: It consists of 7 sizeable islands with an assortment of smaller land masses mixed in. However in terms of its size compared to the rest of the planet it is rather insignificant

Population: Insignificant. It varies but there is never usually more than a maximum of 10.

Demographics: Dolphinarian and Echani are among the species of permanent residents.

Points of Interest: These islands contain a variety of different habitats and natural wonders that play host to a plethora of animals and plants. The islands have massive coral reefs between them and several coastal marshes and tidal pools dot the beaches. Hidden coves, lagoons, rainforests, rivers and waterfalls also dot the islands. Some spots between the islands can get very deep with large systems of underwater caverns. A sunken wreck of a Clone Wars era Separatist Transport known as “The Stellar Manta” can be located in a deeper region just off the coast. A small fishing settlement can be found a few hours to the east. The home of [member='Tyluko Dubykee'] and [member='Iris Issey'] will be constructed in this region.

Description: Found in a remote region of the beautiful ocean world of Mon Calamari, the Azure Archipelago is a piece of ecological and biological paradise. The blue crystal clear water contains some of the most extravagant variety of coral reefs on the planet and the islands contain several different habitats both along their coasts and in-land. This region has incredible bio-diversity including several different species of marine mammals, fish, tropical birds, plants and invertebrates. It has been uninhabited for thousands of years and is regarded as a wildlife sanctuary.

History: The Azure Archipelago has been a relatively undisturbed piece of ecological majesty for most of its history and has been around for millions of years. The islands were at one point inhabited by the Dolphinarian people long before the formation of the Republic. The Dolphinarians regarded the archipelago as sacred and it was an important part of their cultural identity. The Dolphinarian people eventually left the islands and inhabited other areas on Mon Cala; they believed that the Islands should remain undisturbed and considered it a place of pilgrimage and spiritual meditation.

According to ancient Dolphinarian legend the archipelago was the birthplace of the Dolphinarian people. The legend states that long ago the archipelago was home to an ancient dolphin like animal that often frequented the area to feed and raise young. In legend these animals are regarded as “The Old Ones.” However over the course of time the species diverged and evolved into two separate lineages; one lineage gave rise to the Dolphinarians while the other gave rise to an animal known as the Dolphin Drakes. These two species would form a symbiotic relationship and the Dolphin Drakes became an essential part of Dolphinarian society. The archipelago is also rumored to be the birthplace of the Dolphinarians ability of hydrokinesis. And so in honor of their history it is rumored that the Dolphinarians constructed a hidden temple that is rumored to still remain in the area.

Eventually the Dolphinarian people were almost wiped out by a pandemic disease forcing most surviving individuals off of the planet. The site has since been regarded a sacred place by both the Mon Calamari and the Quarren in honor of the Dolphinarian people that both species greatly respected. It remained undisturbed until the Battle of Mon Cala during the Clone Wars, when a Separatist transport known as “The Stellar Manta” crashed and sank within the region. Today, the area has been declared a wild life sanctuary by the Calamari Council who also stated that the area needed to be watched over and protected. The responsibility of protecting and overseeing the area has been bestowed upon aspiring Jedi Knight, Tyluko Dubykee; one of the last Dolphinarians in existence.

Intent: To build upon the history and lore of the Dolphinarian people that would provide a home for Tyluko and a place to develop his story.
