• City Name: Ayrie
  • Classification: Metropolis Colony
  • Location: Shukut
  • Affiliation: Mandalorians
  • Demographics:
    35% Non-Mandalorian of Various Species
  • 10% Ugnaught
  • 55% Mandalorian of Various Species

[*]Wealth: High
  • As the largest Tibanna gas mining colony in the system, the city of Ayrie contains a massive amount of wealth. Mostly in the pockets of foreign companies and racers, the wealth distribution and taxes imposed by the Mandalorian Clans has managed to keep most of the citizens that live in the Edee afloat, but massive wealth inequality also exists within the city.

[*]Stability: Medium
  • Tensions were high with the vast majority of wealth on Ayrie accumulated in foreign pockets. There was always a lingering fear in the foreign companies and a knowing preparedness in the Mandalorian citizens that it was only a matter of time before the streets erupted into violence again. Mandalorian Protectors and other private security forces were the only thing keeping the peace.

[*]Description: Ayrie was tibanna gas mining colony constructed in the habitable zone of the gas giant Shukut. Arguably the most diverse city in the Mandalore System, Ayrie was home to the Mandalorian star racer circuit, bounty hunters, and seedy gas tycoons. Constructed mostly out of lightweight beskar alloys, the massive mining colony consisted of a central ring connected to five arms covered in citiscape. The city utilized a complex combination of repulsors, engines, and gravity projectors to keep the city afloat and to keep gravity consistent on all of the arms.

The main ring, also known as Bralov District [Lit: Success District], was the seat of power for the upper echelons of Ayrie. Home to the successful gas mining company owners and other business tycoons, the interior of the Ring held beautiful gardens, art museums, upscale bars and clubs, and the luxury apartments gifted to some of the top racers and pilots in the galaxy. The different sectors of the Bralov District were secured by both Mandalorian Protectors and various private security forces. It wasby The epicenter of Bralov District was the MandalMotors and Mythosaur Electric complex. It served as both the corporate headquarters for Mythosaur Electric and one of the most upscale living experiences in the system. With its own private clubs, bars, casinos, and even its own race circuit, Mythosaur Tower was the undisputed throne of the station. Mythosaur Tower stood as both a beacon for the Mandalorians of Ayrie Station With the Mandalorian population largely being pushed into the cityscape of the Edee [Jaw/Tooth], Mythosaur Tower was like a stamp for all Mandalorians, reassuring them that this city was theirs.

The arms, also known simply as The Edee, by contrast were long stretches of cityscape. These places typically held gas miners, engineers, bounty hunters, and the bulk of the station’s Mandalorian population. Constructed in a much more utilitarian way, the Edee were covered in skyscrapers and infrastructure more akin to what one would find in the domed cities the likes of Sundari. These buildings lacked the luxury often found in those buildings however and were built cheaply with modular house blocks as the need for space on the station grew over the years. For the most part, citizens of the Edee lived their entire lives inside the buildings and structures of the Edee as there were very few outdoor areas due to the limitations of artificial gravity. Thus, citizens of the Edee were forced to live in the cramped spaces of the skyscrapers. The further one got from Bralov, the poorer you got. The slums of the outer tips of the Edee were incredibly dangerous and often poorly maintained. Artificial gravity failures were common on the tips along with tibanna gas leaks and loss of running water. It was on these tips that the Black Market of Ayrie thrived.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Mythosaur Tower: Corporate headquarters of Mythosaur Electric. Some of the most upscale living could be found here as well as the Mythosaur Race Circuit which hosted several races a year. It was protected by MandalMotors' own clone defense force.

Ayrie Race Circuit: A series of floating rings designed to guide racers through complex and deadly maneuvers. Large holodisplays and a multitude of holocam droids are located here

Hangars: A series of hangars along the main ring of Ayrie. The Hangars were where one of the only times workers from the Edee could enter Bralov District and were the home of most of the racers on Ayrie. The lower tiered racers held rivalries with racers from other gas colonies on Shukut. Both high and low ranked racers stored their prized starships here but as one moved up in level they moved up in quality of life. Higher tiered racers had larger hangars and more room for their engineers and crews where lower tiered racers got older, smaller hangars. Most of the low tiered racers and engineers actually commuted from the Edee.

Ayrie Spaceport: Located in Bralov district, the Ayrie Spaceport a state of the art location with dozens of large hangars for freighters and visiting ships. It was connected via rail to all of the Edee and some locations in Bralov District. The station publicly owned and run.

SECURITY
Medium: Mandalorian Protectors patrol the Edee and run general security for the whole city. Occasionally the Mandalore defense fleet patrols the area with a pair of frigates to watch for pirates. In the Bralov District many of the private companies hire their own security making some of the areas in the Bralov district ripe with mercenary activity. It wasn't uncommon to spot Vicks, Golden Company, or other large merc groups roaming the upscale areas of Ayrie.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Originally constructed by the Mandalorian Crusaders just prior to the Mandalorian Wars of the Old Republic, Ayrie was designed as a modular tibanna gas mining colony. During the war it would provide the bulk of high quality tibanna gas to the Mandalorians and gave their blaster bolts their distinctive yellow color. However, after the Mandalorian Wars and the years following the Mandalorian Excision, the peaceful New Mandalorians under Duchess Satine utilized the station to accumulate power in the Outer Rim. As the sector's leading tibanna gas provider, the New Mandalorians used the city as leverage to become the leader of the Council of Neutral Systems. For a time it was theorized that the Mandalore system's gas reserves were the main reason the Confederacy of Independent Systems wished for the Mandalorians to fall in line with them.

Over the years between the Mandalorian Wars and the Clone Wars, the station's population grew exponentially and the iconic large arms of the colony were added to support the booming population. It was one of these population booms that saw the explosion of foreigners that forced much of the Mandalorian Elite out of the Bralov district. Incentives spurred on by the Empire saw an increase in Imperial patrols which put even more Mandalorian out of the job as well. These events would lead to an explosive riot throughout the city after the battle of Endor ending with the Empire pushed from the city. Without their Imperial friends to keep their power the foreigners took to hiring ace pilots and private security to hold their slice of the city. Along with the pilots however, they brought a culture of high stakes gambling and racing. These pilots would go on to make the first racing league in the Mandalore System and would eventually become part of the Outer Rim circuit.

Tensions would stay high for hundreds of years until MandalMotors broke through the foreign tycoons' barrier to entry. With it the company brought large amounts of Mandalorian workers back to the Bralov district, though the Edee still held the majority of the Mandalorian population. After the Second Mandalorian Excision a new fifth arm was added. Much newer in comparison to the other Edee the arm held some of the best opportunity for work as largely Mandalorian corporations began moving various manufacturing, warehouse, and supply chain jobs to that location. The Edee was also added to support the mass exodus of Mandalorians from the planet following the Second Mandalorian Excision and quickly became a strain on the economy of Ayrie. Some time after Yasha Mantis [Now Cadera] took the mantle of Mand'alor, the city began to stabilize, largely due to the focused efforts of Mythosaur Electric, a subsidiary of MandalMotors. They utilized their clout as one of Mandalore's leading tibanna gas providers and the friendship between the company's CEO and the Mand'alor to lobby for larger tax breaks, better security, and assisted living measures for those living in the slums of the Edee.

Much more secure and stable now than it was 50 years ago, Ayrie would continue to provide much of the Mandalore Sector with tibanna gas for many years.
