Biography
Life on the far Outer-Rim planet of Galtea offered little to no variance in its mundane day to day existence. The men were hunters, the women raised the children and the people of the remote villages were communal gatherers and farmers. There were never any new faces and visits from outsiders were only the stuff of legend. Each and every member of the tribe did the same thing that they had always done and the simple way of life was passed down from generation to generation for centuries. Ayasha was different though. There was a fire within her spirit that could not be tamed. From her first steps as a small child, it was clear that she would not be restrained by the traditions that she had been born into, though she respected them.
The Amayi, people of the waters, were a proud tribe that encouraged unity over individuality and so they tried in vain to break Ayasha for fear that she would bring dishonor to her family. "Why won't you just do as you're expected, girl?" her father begged her after a council meeting was called to discuss the child's latest misadventure. "But Father...I can hunt better than the boys! Why won't you allow it?" the pre-teen protested. She was right, her hunting skills were extraordinary and even rivaled some of the best men in the community. As the years passed, Ayasha ushered in great changes among the Amayi.
Her people began to see her in a different light as almost a promise kept to them by the gods of the ancient days. They looked to her for the wisdom she possessed of a degree well beyond her years. She brought great honor to her family as a hunter as well as a scout to areas previously unexplored. She consulted with the tribe's mapmakers and the Amayi territory increased rapidly as Ayasha took teams into dense uninhabited regions. Then one day, a great sorrow fell over the land. Ayasha was due to return from an exploratory journey that should have only taken five days time, but eight days had passed. Several of the elders went searching for the woman but returned without so much as a hint to her whereabouts.
As the days passed, their hope of her return grew as dim as the most distant stars until one day, it was extinguished completely. Little did the tribe know however, their beloved daughter was alive and well, but about to meet fate in the most peculiar manner. Lost for days with little sleep and even less to eat, the young woman decided to find some food and then rest to regain her strength. After a bit of foraging, she gathered some ripened berries and nearly swallowed them whole. She drank what little water she had left in her canteen before climbing into a strange looking cave to finally find some rest. Perhaps the lack of sleep distorted Ayasha's clarity of mind or perhaps the berries were poisonous...whatever it was, the lost woman fell asleep inside of a smuggler's ship and when she would finally wake from her slumber, Galtea would be nothing short of a distant memory.
Ayasha ended up on Kashyyyk with Crix, a Force sensitive smuggler who introduced her to Jedi Master Vu'thari. After an experience at the Life Tree during the Life Day festivival, the twi'lek Jedi Master asked the Galtean native to join him to explore the meaning of the word "padawan". Ayasha agreed and ventured to Tatooine where she began to train as a Jedi and became Vu'thari's padawan. She has studied many subjects under the tutelage of the twi'lek and has become quite an accomplished mentalist, almost naturally.
Personality
Ayasha is wise well beyond her years. She is quiet and has a great deal of social anxiety. She will be open with those she lets close enough to know her, but generally holds everyone at arm's length. She is loyal, trustworthy, thoughtful and has a gentle spirit. She is truly a selfless soul and regards others and their needs before herself. She does not trust others easily and is generally suspicious of everyone and everything. Ayasha has years and years of repressed memories, but due to the culture she was raised in, she does not realize that the things that happened to her are wrong. Ayasha is a hard worker and performs well under pressure. She learns quickly and adapts well in stressful situations. One of her biggest flaws is how terribly self-critical she is. Ayasha is a natural empath and feels everything. Through her training, she is learning how to reign these emotions in, whether hers or of those around her.
Skills/Weaknesses
Ayasha is a skilled hunter and gatherer as well as a scout. She possesses a high degree of survival skills and can manage on very little food and water in harsh elements. She has been known to do some things that seem quite out of the ordinary such as ducking out of harms way just moments before a catastrophic event happened. She has always been very empathetic to her fellow man as well as plants and animals. Ayasha is able to use telepathy nearly flawlessly. She is very skilled with Force abilities that rely on her mind and she continues to grow in this area of mentalism. Ayasha knows her way around a blaster pistol and is growing increasingly proficient with a lightsaber. Her greatest weaknesses would be her emotions and paranoia. Ayasha is a natural empath and struggles to keep her emotions in check. She is also incredibly paranoid of the world around her, not giving her trust away easily. These things often get in the way of her work as a Jedi and have the potential of clouding her vision.
