Work In Progress AXC

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create a cheap, easily accessible, but unreliable method for NFUs to help defend themselves against hostile Force-Sensitives.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source:
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Name: AXC-1, Aerosolized Ixetal Cilona, Death's Breath, AXC Body Spray
  • Manufacturer: various chemists, druggists, and organizations in the Outer Rim
  • Affiliation: Rimward Trade League defense forces
  • Market Status: Open-Market (Mostly just accessible via black market purchases)
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Drug
  • Method of Consumption: Inhalation, effects do not really stack with repeated doses. Generally has to be within 1 meter to have any effect.
  • Average Life: 5 hours
  • Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose:
    • Potentially hallucinogenic
    • Potentially weaken the user's connection to the Force
    • Potentially disorienting
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Can Affect Force Connection: Like the traditional death sticks made from the same material, the AXC-1 compound can temporarily weaken the user's connection to the Force, whether it be to prevent a Force ghost from talking or as a way of negating some of the advantages faced by non-Force sensitive when facing Sith or Jedi.
  • Hallucinogenic Visions: Sometimes, the chemical compound can interact with Force sensitivity and cause hybridized Force-hallucinations.
STRENGTHS
  • Aerosol: Rather than relying on the passive, floating nature of the fine particles of hardened ixetal cilona, AXC-1 compound uses an aerosolized gas expelled from a pressurized canister, giving a more highly concentrated dose and more specific direction.
WEAKNESSES
  • Gas masks/air filters/sealed suits: Anything that cleans the air will make this useless.
  • Questionable Reliability: Chemistry can only go so far when you're dealing with substances like this. Despite rigorous testing, quality control, and production regulations, the simple fact is that it takes a liquid, turns it into a powder, and then turns it into an aerosolized gas meant to interfere with a mystical energy field that binds all living things together. It's not always particularly effective.
  • Adolescents of particularly poor judgment think its smell is attractive and sometimes wear it as a body spray, keeping only the distinctive scent, while the primary side effects are quickly dispersed.
DESCRIPTION
Sith, Jedi, Nightsisters, and the various other Force-wielders are the bane of the average person's life, especially in a galaxy as chaotic and combative as this one. This was a lesson learned the hard way by the original Underground in their resistance movement against the One Sith. Over the years, various methods have been developed and used across a wide variety of cultures- beskar, phrik, cortosis, void stone fragments, etc.

The problem is that those are very expensive, hard to acquire, and often require special training. They're not something you can issue to a squad of infantry and expect them to make it work, or to give to a resistance movement to protect against inquisitors.

Working across several aliases, Veino Garn got some gears moving on behalf of the Rimward Trade League, Outer Rim Intelligence Operations Network, and the Underground to develop something cheap, and easily transported, although somewhat at the cost of reliability.

It took several years, but they eventually managed to stabilize the hardened powder version of the liquid and then grind it into micro-grains capable of being transported by aerosolized particles, transported by a pressurized can, and easily applied by using the spray button.

Despite his best efforts to keep it contained, however, the simple fact of the matter is that the substance is a drug and there are those who will pay enormous amounts of money for, and the secret was soon spilled and the substance found itself on the black market and drug markets of the Outer Rim.
