Description: Conceptualized alongside the Amaterasu, the Avadon is a pure assault craft. It is meant to hit hard, take massive punishment, and still return home at the end of the day. The craft delivers on what a gunship was meant to be. Much of the strength lies in not only the weapons loadout but also the use of molecular shielding and ultrachrome in the construction of the ship. The ship doesn't carry much in the way of physical ordinance, but does mount three electromagnetic plasma repeating cannons.
While the defenses are quite formidable against particle based weaponry such as ion cannons and laser weapons, it has a vulnerability to solid rounds and missiles. As well there are no active or passive stealth systems, the only thing that could be considered such is the dallorian alloy surrounding the upgraded engines. Though this does not end up diminishing the thermal signature, it is vital in keeping the upgraded engine from overheating during operations, due to the upgraded thrust output. The three dimensional thrust vectoring on the craft provide a boost to maneuverability, though it isn't going to be turning and burning with a fighter. All in all it gives the craft more controllability to handle its mission of assault/close air support and loitering around the battlefield. A faraday cage was included to provide protection from EMP/ion attacks even when the molecular shields are recharging.
The only layer of defense against guided missiles is an IFF scrambler which utilizes a burst transmission of junk data and false IFF tags to overwhelm guidance systems in the missile for a short time. Given the speed of the craft, this is not likely to throw the missile completely off course, but should give enough time to at least attempt to get free of a direct impact. The transmission range is about a half kilometer, outside of that there is no effect, nor does the data burst hide the craft from enemy scanners in any sense.
