Description:

As a wrap up for standard capital weapons for Aurora Industries's new line of ships, the engineers at the company began work on another turbolaser. Using the Sianium technology from Project Galvani, they created the AV-X08 "Corona" Turbolaser to become the standard issue turbolaser for Aurora capital ships.

The Corona is designed with mostly standard components for a turbolaser, except for the power generator. Sianium is used within the Corona's self-contained power generator to give the weapon the extra boost in power associated with the Sianium technology. The power generators themselves are contained deep enough in the superstructure that it would take quite a bit of hull damage before an enemy attack might reach them to cause a chain reaction. However, because of the dedicated power sources and the Sianium, the Corona hits three times harder than a standard turbolaser as the extra power is channeled into its capacitor banks and it does not require pulling on a ship's primary reactor.

The Corona can be both turreted and fixed on a ship, but it is normally sold in the turret fashion to give it a wider firing arc and the ability to adapt to a changing battle environment. The Corona does have the standard problem of any Sianium weapon that if it overheats, it will explode so it is best to fire in a staggered style with other Corona turbolasers to avoid catastrophic failure.

Right answer lol.

Yeah, please do. Also, you'll want to discuss the hazards of having all those volatile power sources at or near the outside of the ship. Worst case scenario, an enemy fleeter had some latitude in saying that you've strapped bombs to your hull.
