Description:

Continuing the production of Aurora's next generation of ship-based weapon systems, the engineers turned to developing a new point defense laser system. Dubbed the AV-X07d "Nimbus" Hex Barrel Point Defense Laser, the new system is designed to create a veritable cloud of point laser fire to intercept enemy missile and starfighters. The Nimbus uses six barrels to unleash staggering amounts of fire, creating a protective screen for the capital ship equipped with the system. The Nimbus is also naturally turreted, so it has a wider arc of fire to protect the ship.

The Nimbus does have downside though. Because of the rate of fire, the Nimbus requires constant maintenance to make sure the barrels don't need repaired from heat or to make sure all the components are standing up to the strain, so it is recommended that the Nimbus is not fired constantly to keep a continuous stream but rather in short bursts.

Counts as six point defense lasers
