OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Codify the coolest room ever, and help flesh out the Prosperity SSD.
  • Canon: N/A.
  • Permissions: N/A.
  • Links: The Prosperity.
  • Credits: TED-Ed.
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Auteme's Quarters.
  • Classification: Room (Cool).
  • Location: The Prosperity; Dormitories.
  • Affiliation: Auteme Denko-Durren; the New Jedi Order.
  • Accessibility: The front room is located in the dormitories wing of the Prosperity, a mobile Jedi Temple. The front room is accessible by a simple four-digit key code, though is often left unlocked.
  • Description: Auteme's personal quarters appears the same as all the other rooms in the dormitories at first. Like all the other rooms it has a simple lock and a nondescript sliding durasteel door. Upon entry it remains simple and minimalist. The room is five meters deep and four meters wide, and contains all the necessary amenities for a person to live. On the right, there is a door to a bathroom. The back wall houses a closet accessible by sliding doors.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Main Room: The walls are sky blue, matching the sheets of the double bed in the far right corner. To the left is a wroshyr wood desk, with three drawers on one side and a shelf atop it against the wall. A padded chair is tucked into the desk. The first and second drawers contain organized cartons of desk supplies and other utilities. The third drawer is filled with miscellaneous items; including spare charging cords, batteries, and an audio headset. On the shelf are a variety of textbooks and a selection of Auteme's favorite reads, including: Adventures of Shane Carlton and the Rebel Alliance ("This one's hilarious. It's so inaccurate."), Beach of Stars ("Kai Konnik was a true wordsmith."), The Jedi Path (a version partially annotated by Jedi Master Fay) ("I love it when people put their own thoughts into books!"), The Paths to Power ("It's chilling how reading this now really shows how Palpatine thought."), The Secret to Joy in the Galaxy ("Baobab is wrong in my opinion, but it's a pretty good read."), and several dictionaries and galactic history books. Sitting on the desk are two framed pictures taken on an old photo-capture camera; the first depicts Auteme and her parents together, and the second is of her and her four then-padawan friends (Ryv, Loske, Bernard, and Aaran) aboard Peace Station. To the left, above and beside the desk, a paper calendar is hung on the wall. In the middle of the room rests a red beanbag chair. In the far left corner is a large pot that houses a ch'hala tree, which changes color when subject to pressure of any kind, including sound waves from speech. On the far wall is a pair of sliding doors that open to a wide closet. On the left end of the closet is a biometric thumbprint scanner, which opens a safecube used to store Auteme's Farseer traveling bag.
Bathroom: The bathroom does not contain a bath. It has a small shower, a toilet, and a sink, as well as small cupboards for towels, hygiene supplies, and other bathroom amenities. It has white-tiled floors and walls. On the wall above the sink hangs a circular mirror.
Hidden Back Room: The secret back room of Auteme's quarters is extremely secure, requiring numerous steps to access. Mostly it works as a series of puzzles, though Auteme has a deep enough understanding of how to access the room that she can work through the security measures in few a minutes. The security measures are listed in order in the section below. The room itself is a mix of a 'perfect' small-scale scientific lab and a rest area where Auteme can relax with no chance of being disturbed. The back room is ten meters deep and six meters wide. The back wall is a glasteel one-way window into space. The rest of the room is well-lit, almost glaring due to the white walls and flooring. To the left of the entrance is a storage/irradiation unit containing a
JN-66 analysis droid, an SP-4 analysis droid, a 2-1B surgical droid, a GH-7 medical analysis unit. There are also cleaning and update docks for B00-series companion droids. Past that on the left of the room is a medical study station, including a small-scale bacta tank, an operating table, a tissue synthesizer (can be used to clone/grow replacement limbs or organs), an advanved 3D printer, and a variety of smaller machines and tool cabinets. In both far corners are tall sets of bookshelves filled with a variety of different texts on nearly every subject. The top shelf on each side are dedicated to copies of Auteme's journals and notebooks. The right contains a wide analysis table and Holonet terminal.

SECURITY

  • Main Room Security Rating: Low.
    • Four-digit keycode lock.
    • Biometric thumbprint scanner for Safecube access.
  • Hidden Back Room Security Rating: Maximum.
    • Ch'hala tree audio access code.
      • Mando'a phrase.
    • Video surveillance system.
    • Durasteel blast door hidden behind wood paneling.
    • Logic puzzles.
    • Randomized ten-digit keycode lock.
      • Auteme does not know the passcode until she begins putting in the numbers.
      • Cycles every minute.
    • Bio-hexacrypt secured Holonet access.
      • Incognito mode.
    • Magnetic pulse wiper.
      • Activates upon unauthorized access of the analysis table or Holonet terminal.
    • Rat-gates.
      • Installed on air vents.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Auteme's quarters were designed during the final stages of production of the Prosperity. This particular dorm room was meant for one of the Prosperity's library staff, but due to the lack of full Jedi Archivists it was assigned to Auteme. The staff rooms are for the most part larger than the padawan and student rooms, but Auteme had no use for an enormous bedroom and decided instead to use most of the space as a secret room. By special request the set of thick blast doors were installed in the back wall.

Still, she had Allyson Locke Allyson Locke to thank for the intensive security measures installed afterwards. Having someone with expertise on breaking into security systems was invaluable in making one that was near impenetrable. The majority of the internal computer systems were designed by Allyson -- the design philosophy effectively being "Auteme asks for something, and Allyson tells her she's shooting low and gives her something better".

Accessing to the back room is extremely difficult without particular skills. Even so, if someone wanted to access it forcefully, it still take some time to cut through the door with a lightsaber. The reinforced durasteel is thick and difficult to discover behind the false paneling of the back of the closet.

While someone who knows Auteme might be able to figure out the code phrase used to reveal the back door, and anyone of reasonable intelligence would be able to pass the logic puzzles, the ten-digit keycode lock is likely the most difficult to pass. The randomization makes finding the password through standard means effectively impossible, and only a fool would attempt to guess -- after all, the chances of getting the password correct by guessing is around one in ten billion. This is a test of the Force and of one's attunement to it. There are several methods to bypass it; Auteme usually uses her skill in
Suerton probability manipulation to give herself extraordinary luck to guess the password. Even then, it can take a few tries.

Auteme uses the back room as a secret lab and quiet space, where she can stay when she needs a bit of time alone. The equipment installed within allows her to conduct research with a bit of privacy.
