Aloy stood straight as the nearby explosion rocked and lit the caverns, Her fists clenching as she rose to look upon her handy work. But instead of a headless rancor or whatever the feth it was, She was met with a very much living and damn angry beast, Who was just about to swipe.

Having her entire armory wirelessly linked to her brain suddenly became very useful as she lept to the side, Her omni-directional thrusters activating with a mere thought as they shot her across the room, Landing not far from Hinah Dragr and Vren Rook Vren Rook , Narrowly avoiding the beast's claws before the Dragr girl threw a flashbang, Prompting Aloy to turn away slightly and let her flash-visor do the rest.

" Everyone all right? " Rook calls out while sending bursts of explosive rounds downrange past Aloy.

<"Little chilly is all"> She nervously chuckles while pulling her particle carbine from her back, Taking a few pot shots of golden particle beams at the creature, The superheated plasma exploding against the creature's hide with little to no affect.

<"Kriffin' annoyed with this thing though! Ah chit~">

It was right then that the eyeless creatures came rushing forward like mad beasts, A few immediately catching particle rounds that would rend flesh and bone alike, But it wasn't enough. There so many, She couldn't possible take them all on like this, And her vode were shaken up during the initial fall or the beastial attacks.

She fires off a few more rounds while stepping back, Placing herself between the horde and Hinah Dragr in an effort to give her a window of recovery.
With the horde getting close and the particle carbine's explosive payload getting dangerously close to herself, She is forced to take a different approach.

She draws one of her Westar-35s in her left hand, Firing both it and her carbine one handed at various targets before the enemy get's too close, Forcing her to toss the lumbering carbine and draw her second pistol, Quickly dispatching foes with shots placed on center mass. Nothing fancy, But quick and concise nonetheless.

This wouldn't last though, They had to take out that damned creature while they still could...

<"Hey Vod,">
She calls out to Vren Rook Vren Rook , Still gunning down creatures left and right
<"My jetpack has a flare dumper! You cover me while I hit the remote and blind that thing!">

Whether he answered or not, The jetpack's magnetic lock would suddenly release, Dropping it from her back before suddenly flinging itself through the air on a trajectory to fly right over the beast, Already dumping flares.

Whether she had cover or not would determine if she had the focus needed to keep it on course.

It seemed the pair of them communicated well enough with few words - which was good, because Sinya was not one to use many of them unless she had to. At least not when it came to people she didn't know well, and in this instance, she did not know this other Mandalorian at all. Despite that, they had had a room to tamper with and figure out. There had to be more than what they were seeing, more than the traps and trouble that could spring to life from the walls or floor at any moment. This room was untouched for the most part, and that made no sense to Sin.

After a thorough checking of the walls on her side, the Twi'lek stepped backwards from where she had been, then hitched a breath when her heel sank with a piece of flooring beneath it. She hitched a breath, closed her eyes, and waited to be impaled or crushed, but...nothing. This gave her pause, and she cracked first one eye open, then the other to at first observe her immediate surroundings, and then look at her feet. Somewhere she was certain she had heard something else give way, but honestly she had figured that was death setting itself up for her.

"Look," she called out to Obran, though didn't dare pick up her foot at the moment. "I think I've found something." she added. Again her gaze swept the chamber, though she didn't spot any immediate creases in the walls still. "I think there's a second chamber, and I either just found one of the plates to open it, or found myself a pressure plate that I can't take my foot off of."

Either way, it was worth investigating.

Vaux gripped her arm, looking at the others. Had to be her shooting hand didn't it? She heard Vren, grumbling to herself as she slowly went to get her PS-1. She then responded in her usual Concordian.

"Not really.... One of them got my shooting arm. Someone take this and swap it to bolt mode!" She would hand the shotgun to the nearest person, continuing to them. "It's a particle shotgun, so bolt equals boom." She would then toss her revolver to her left hand. Wasn't the best, but she could at least point it in the right direction. And then those stupid Rackghoul things came back.

"Are you karking me!?" She quickly tried to fire into the creatures a few more times with her revolver. This was great. Injured and fighting monsters. Vaux couldn't wait to be back in the cockpit.

It wasn’t all that long before several other Mandalorians came tumbling down the hole behind Tyran. The monster was quickly hit with a various array of attacks that created blinding spheres of light that even made Tyran’s own HUD kick on its glare screen. Light alone wasn’t going to do the trick though and that was when the first Mando to fall through the ice came up with the idea to shoot it in its mouth. The idea made sense since none of the damage they were doing to the things outer body seemed to be working.

Tyran loaded another phosphorous grenade into his launcher and aimed at the raging beast. A jet pack came flying overhead and dropped flares onto the beast bathing it in light and forcing it to rear upwards, it’s mouth open wide. Tyran depressed the trigger and watched the grenade fly forward in a beautiful arc and landed perfectly into the creature’s mouth. A plume of flame erupted from the creature and it let out its loudest roar yet and began thrashing around the cavern.

“I think we just made it even angrier.” Tyran said seeing movement out of the corner of his eye just before being swarmed by four of those deformed creatures that had caused the floor to collapse earlier.

His first reaction was one of pure instinct as he grabbed the nearest one and hip-tossed it across the cavern. Whatever these things were, they weren’t all that heavy, but they were also very strong. The remaining three creatures rushed him and forced him to the ground and began smacking him with their deformed hands, some of which had claws as sharp as and vibroblade. They kept sparking off his beskar armor as they tried to find a weak point or an artery and Tyran fought to free one of his hands to reach one of his blasters.

“Don’t you even—” Rixa yelled as Tris booted him in the face and sent him tumbling backwards down the hole and into the frozen hell below, his curses echoing back up the hole to Tris. Rixa landed flat on his back and drove all the wind from his lungs and it took a couple moments before he realized just the kind of trouble that the Mandalorians had found themselves in.

He rolled onto his stomach and got up to all fours and finally laid eyes on the beast that his brother and the others had been battling for a bit. “Shab!” He said stunned for a moment. Rixa dealt with aristocrats and social movers, not giant monsters in frozen caves. He had nothing to combat that thing with, but the smaller ones were definitely more on his level. He drew his HG-54 Verpine hand cannon and started to unload the heavier slug rounds that he preferred over ion bolts.

Jetpacks, grenades and flares all erupted around him and that was when he saw his brother go down, swarmed by creatures. “Tyran!” He yelled and sprinted towards his brother, firing as he ran. Not all of his shot hit home, but he did manage to dislodge one of them long enough to watch his brother free one of his hands. A second later three red flashes erupted under the pile of creatures as Tyran fired his blaster and fried the deformed bastards. Rixa slid to a halt and pulled his heavier brother to his feet.

“Next time can we do the bonding thing somewhere with a beach and fruity drinks?” Rixa asked as he reloaded his hand cannon.

As she spoke, his head turned, and the spear haft stopped short in the midst of its' rapping and tapping, Turning his head back a moment, he prodded an odd brick, which merely flopped and clattered across the ground, with no further reaction. Grunting, he slid it to the side with his foot, spear looped into a bandolier over his shoulder as he drew the heavy blaster pistol holstered to the same, and drew a traditional kal knife, triangular blade and all, and eyed his companion.

"Let up slowly, I'll keep watch behind you, and we'll call out if either sees anything. Scanners might not pick it up, could distory vision. So the helmet thing ended up helping after all."

Standing, his back to hers, he waited, gaze twitching like a hunting cat. It was a show of support and faith, she could knife him to take some unknown treasure. But one of them had to take the first leap of trust and faith. He would. If nothing else, he could probably take her in a fight, if he got the drop on her.

TAG: Siv Dragr Siv Dragr | @everyone else (there's a lot, ok >.>)

It was karking chaos.

Flashbangs and blasterbolts lit up the cavern like a Life Day tree. The beast roared in anger and out of nowhere more deformed creatures swarmed at them. He had little time to return his rifle to his back before one creature made a beeline for him. He had little choice but to set it alight with his firelauncher. It still barreled into him while burning to death sending him to the floor with a grunt.

He faintly heard Siv Dragr Siv Dragr yell something about aiming into the mouth of the beast, as he shoved the still burning creature from him. He also heard Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla asking him for cover fire. As he stumbled to his feet, he pulled both his pistols.
"You got it, Vod." he told her before firing off a few shots at another approaching deformity.

While he was firing his blasters in all directions, he kept an eye on the flares as the dumper was guided towards the beast. He sure hoped this did the trick.

Kale maneuvered around trying to get some sort of good attack angle on the huge monstrosity that he and his fellow Mandos were fighting when he heard more screeches. You have got to be kidding me! Kale thought to himself as half a dozen of the smaller creatures they fought earlier made a mad rush at him. His rifle was still set to full auto so he fired a long burst which took down three of them. As the other three got into melee range, Kale used the butt of his rifle and smacked one hard. He ducked as another one swiped at him with its claws. He hit the creature with the midsection of his rifle before bringing the rifle's barrel down hard on the creature's head. Kale suddenly lurched forward and lost his grip on his rifle as the third creature tackled him from behind. He rolled with the impact as he had been taught and ended up on the on his back with the creature pinned between his body and the ground. He drew his vibroknife and stabbed the arm that was across his torso. The creature squealed and released him. Kale rolled once again, coming up to one knee while drawing one of his blasters at the same instant. A double tap to the head put the creature down and two more in each of the other two put them down for the count as well.

As he sheathed his vibroblade and recovered his rifle, Kale frowned when he saw how ineffective their weapons and explosives were against the large creature though employing flashbangs and bright lights seemed to disorient the creature. This was a familiar setting though. He remembered fighting another creature that seemed impervious to weapons and explosive and it occurred to him where he should be concentrating. Apparently, Siv had the same idea when he yelled out about the creature's mouth. Just like hunting a Krayt Dragon. Kale thought as he activated his tactical targeting display and armed the missile on his jetpack. Kale growled in frustration as he tried to achieve a target lock on the monstrosity's mouth but it was flailing around too much. "Taylir su gar jari'eyc..."* He said out loud but the creature refused to obey.

Ok time for plan B. Kale thought as he disengaged his missile targeting system and primed one of the three thermal detonators he brought with him. Kale then did something that was either going to be considered very brave or extraordinarily stupid. He ran toward the creature in a mad rush, shooting his rifle one handed while holding the prime detonator in the other. The creature turned toward him and roared as it took a swipe at him. He managed to duck the poorly aimed swipe and threw the now rapidly beeping detonator almost point blank into the creature's mouth. He veered off and jumped for the nearest cover as he called out to everyone on his comm, "Tracyn o'r te palon!!!!!!"**

Translations:

* "Hold still you ugly..."
** "Fire in the hole!!!!!!"

Now that they knew the weakness of the beast, the Mandalorians fell into a familiar cadence of doing what they did best.

Destruction.

Aloy's rocket-flares blinded the beast with their bright light, illuminating the entire vast cavern that Siv and the rest had quite literally fallen into. It was something. . . but it wasn't enough. They had stunned the creature, but they were far from killing it. And not only that, but the smaller amalgamates continued to pour out of the deeper bowels of the cavern.

That was until Kale Onara did one of the most reckless things Siv had ever seen, and that included his own incredulous feats; Onara rushed the beast with a primed thermal detonator, firing his rifle while he sprinted in one hand, the detonator in the other. The creature tried to swipe at him, roaring, but Onara slid under and threw the rapidly-beeping detonator into the creatures gaping maw, shouting "Fire in the Hole!" in Mando'a. The abomination bit down as the detonator entered itself. There was a muffled explosion as the creature was briefly illuminated by the combusting detonator from the inside before it fell down with a thundering crash, dead.

The amalgamates somehow seemed to be able to sense that the abomination was dead, and with high-pitched, ear-splitting shrieks, they began to scramble four-legged from whence they came, leaving the Mandalorians in semi-darkness in silence. They had no idea what they had just faced.

But whatever this encounter had been -- to Siv, it seemed that, for at least know, they had won.

There were many legends concerning the Order of the Forgemasters. Tales of great feats, mystical examples of technological prowess that were unrivaled and still had yet to be replicated by the beskar smiths of the current day. The Quartermaster had heard them all as a youngling, then as an apprentice, then as a smith, and then as a Forgemaster. But in all of her life, she had only discovered one creation from rumors that were actually true, and she had hidden it so that it would never see the light of day.

But this mysterious world of ice and snow, on the outer reaches of the galaxy and seemingly absent from all historical archives and records. . . could it be that it perhaps was one of those legends, realized?

The Quartermaster seldom ventured far from the Enclave; since it's founding, she had never even left Roon. There were a great many things to tend to, Mandalorians to tend to. Someone had to keep the forges burning, the beskar flowing, and act as a mediator of the various warriors that had congregated to the Enclave's halls. But if these rumors were true. . . if this planet was what the Quartermaster believed it to be?

She had to be there to witness it herself.

The sleet blew against her fur cloak as she disembarked from the simple ship. She was perfectly capable of defending herself, but just in case, two members of the Si'kahya stood guard at the foot of the landing ramp, blasters drawn, ready to fight if necessary. But, for now, the Quartermaster would venture into the submerged temple alone.

The way into the Sanctum was marked with old runes, ones that were almost too faint to see -- only years of experience with the Order, and with the texts they had left behind, allowed the Quartermaster's eyes to instantly recognize the text. She followed them along hallways and into a first chamber, where two Mandalorians stood; a Human and a Twi'lek. She observed them silently for a moment before she made herself aware. "Sinya Ani, Obran," she said, nodding to them respectively. She walked carefully, tracing her steps over the tile, being sure not to step on the one's marked danger.

Each tile had been marked in the same script as the faded directions, and the Quartermaster was able to decipher them easily enough. The ones that, when strung together, read To the Knowledge Beyond, she walked over, and as soon as she did, the wall on the far end of the chamber slid open. "A vault meant to only open for one of their kind," she added by means of an explanation, before crossing into the threshold of the sanctum.

The Sanctum was nothing like the first chamber. High-ceilinged and austere, it had the hallmarks of graceful architectural design that was so dissimilar to Mandalorian style yet. . . familiar still, in a way. In the center of the chamber sat the remains of what looked to be a giant Forge and Furnace, and on a comparatively small pedestal in front of it sat a mechanical device, as if on display. "This is what I brought you here to see," she announced at last. The Quartermaster walked through the chamber before standing at the foot of the pedestal, taking the small object into her hand. Her gasp of astonishment was not audible, and nor was her expression visible, but the sudden urge of. . . desire was all the same. But like a wave crashing on the shore, it passed, and she turned with the object in hand to face Sinya and Obran.

"Legends spoke of a world of Mandalorians lead by Five Forgemasters, who combined their collective knowledge and prowess to create a machine, a Forge so complicated and advanced that it had a mind of its own. It was thought at best to be lost to time, destroyed in some unknown conflict on a world forgotten, or to be the conjunctions of dreams and fairy tales," she exposited as she looked at the device that lay in her palms. she tilted her head as she studied the inscription on the device, turning it over in her hands. "Five who created Creation, and Five to Keep It," she murmured, reading the ancient script. Her helmet slowly raised to face the two that stood before her. "This may be the key to unlocking that legend, and turning it into a reality," she said, coming into a slow realization. "If what the inscription says is true, then this is some sort of key. . . and there are four more like it, five total for each of the five Forgemasters."

Her gaze turned towards Obran, before handing the key to him. "You displayed your knowledge and bravery, as did you," she said in acknowledgment to the two. "Therefore, I will place this key in your hands. May you guard it with your life -- for it may be the key to Mandalore's future."

Zurin sat on an icy rock his cloak torn, armor scratched and his gun still tight in his hand. He hadn't done much which displeased him, he wws used to taking point but this time...No such luck, his trigger had frozen over deeming the blaster incapacitated. A lame excuse. His pistols were on the other hand fine but they didn't do much either. Zurin had come here expecting a couple of big critters but not this big. Zurin admired and respected Kale now, his little stunt wouldn't easily be forgotten.

The clone stood up and brushed off his cloak. He slung his useless rifle over his back and spotted Kale. Zurin marched to Kale and congratulated him,

"Nice job! Reckless, stupid, and effective! The way I like it!"

Zurin offered his hand to Kale,

"The name is CT-9874 but I prefer Zurin!"

Kale tossed his rifle over an outcropping and jumped right behind it. He ducked low just as the detonator went off but he heard only a muffled explosion and a large thump. He peaked over the outcropping and saw that the creature's hard exterior seemed to have contained the explosion though the beast itself was dead and the smaller creatures were retreating. He grabbed his rifle and dusted himself off, "Well that worked." As he walked toward the creature, he noticed that his fellow Mandos were watching him. Though he couldn't see their faces, he could imagine that they were wondering if he was absolutely insane.

When one of his fellow warriors came up and introduced himself, he laughed as he grasped forearms with the one that introduced him as Zurin, "Kale Onara, at your service." He looked back at the dead creature, "And sometimes extreme situations call for...reckless, stupid, effective solutions." He laughed. Going up to the monster, he snapped off a part of one of the creature's fingers, "This will make a good trophy I think." He looked to Siv and his new friend Zurin, "So, what's next?"

The silence in the aftermath of the destruction was as disturbing as the screams had been. But somehow, even more ominous and menacing than the abominations had been. Some of the warriors had begun to congratulate themselves, while others merely picked up their weapons and made sure that nothing was seriously injured or broken.

Kale Onara turned towards him, asking what they would do next. The rogue, Seris Vant, chimed in suggesting that they continue to move on, adding that whatever they had faced was probably regrouping and would be back in greater numbers. "Good idea," Siv grunted roughly. His chest felt compressed, and if he had to guess there was a broken rib somewhere there. A couple of days in a bacta tank, at least. "Let's get out of here, try to seal that hole behind us. We can come back and clean them out another day."
